I was a little hesitant to go inside with a parking lot full of cars, but I underestimated all Main Street has to offer. I visited on a busy afternoon and the place was packed , but there were still plenty washers and dryers open. They are old school and don't offer a card option, so I had to leave and run to the ATM. That was kind of annoying, but I guess that's my fault for not planning properly. The dryers are free, but only run 10 minutes at a time, and they are not as powerful as some other paid options they have. There was one clerk manning the whole operation and she was a big help to everyone. Clean and mostly quiet place. read more

Pretty clean overall. It's really busy on a Wednesday night but then I see the sign of "discount wash days" on Tuesday & Wednesday. Change machine gives cash and coins. There's vending for laundry stuff, drinks, and snacks. Attendant on duty at 7pm - a plus! A few tables at the far end, a little seating scattered about. Parking is not the greatest when it's busy but seems like there's more close by. Free dry with wash, no matter the day. WiFi offered as well. 2 gender neutral restrooms available. read more

As laundries go, this one's definitely worth going to. Parking next to the building is fairly easy and accessible, plus there's extensive across the street parking as well. The laundry mat motif and entertainment are enjoyable and well received by most guest. The staff is always friendly and willing to help and knowledgeable about the area, as well as laundry ideas and tips. I use the Location for drop off service Dash and they always do an excellent job, I'm very satisfied. I will put a plug-in for the staff, please remember to tip them when you pick up your laundry service or when they help out quite a bit. read more

I drove 20 minutes over to this place because they are listed as a dry cleaner even called and the idiot I talked to said that they do dry cleaning. Then when I get there, they tell me that they wash DRY and fold which is just basic laundry, they are easily listed as a dry cleaner. Total waste of time. read more

You don't have to pay for the largest machines if you don't need them! They have quite the range of options. I chose a smaller one for $3.25. Same for detergent! They do sell single use boxes for $1.25. I'm at the Westin and it's a healthy walk away uphill or short scooter ride. Loved all the side tables to sit and work while you wait. I went on a Tuesday morning and it wasn't crowded at all but I bet this place can be a zoo. I was in and out in under an hour! Ok I admit I have not been to a laundromat in years but I needed clean clothes for week two in KC. This laundromat was close. Walking distance for me but about 3.5 miles from the Power lite district downtown. Sidewalk all the way and sites to see too. Union station and the WWl memorial. You could also bus or Lyft as both go right down main. Wash was 3.50 for normal size washer with upgrade options. Laundry soap was 4.50 and enough for what was about a 3 loads. Change machines a plenty. Dryers were free!! Many roller baskets and everyone was cool about sharing. No cart hogs. And people I spoke with were friendly. One guy even asked all of us if we needed any movies?? Is that code for something? Did he mean moving carts(laundry baskets)? We all said no so I guess I will never know. update: he was really selling movies, my coworker was there a few hours before me and saw the movies. Place was clean and super busy Sunday afternoon but I got a small load done in 47 minutes. 27 to wash and 20 to dry. Soda and snack machine along with a utility sink and clean restrooms. Lots of folding tables and pretty red benches for sitting while you wait. Full time attendant who I saw sweep and check bathrooms while I was there. Looked like they also do laundry for you but I didn't catch the price. I would use this laundromat again. read more

Found this place while I was going to a different laundry place... the larger washer is 5.00 for super wash but free dry! It's a Tuesday and it's not too crowded. Not too many baskets but plenty of tables for folding. Vending machines with snacks and drinks. There are woman's and men's restrooms. Tv too. There's WiFi but not sure if free or available to public. Four stars only because it could be a little cleaner but not bad. read more

Cheapest laundry in midtown. I once saw a guy get stabbed, then chase the stabber for over two blocks, with a brick. I saw a lady feed a baby with down syndrome Taco Bell with her hook hand. This place is the shit. Davey's Uptown Rambler's club is across the street for a cheap drink during a long dry. Don't be afraid. We can smell that over the fabric softener. read more

This place is clean. The machines rarely break. It's close to home and across the street from donuts. Never had a bad experience here. Occasionally I will see the staff helping women and elderly people carry things to and from their cars. Pretty sweet. To be clear, though, it's not located in the best neighborhood for safety at night. Something to consider when planning your trips here. read more

We are visiting from out of town for our son's wedding. We brought my husband's dress shirt to this facility because although the shirt was clean, it was pretty wrinkled from hanging in the bag for several years. He asked for it to be laundered - the charge was $15.00! For one shirt! We were at their mercy since we're on a tight schedule, so he paid the $15.00. The next day he picked it up and it was not on a hanger - just in a large plastic bag knotted shut. He removed it to find it had not been pressed - just washed. It was more wrinkled than when he took it in! He called and was told "we don't do shirts like that" - what? She didn't have anything more to say and gave him the name and number of the owner to contact. He called and left a message which was not returned. We had to find ANOTHER laundry and take it there which we did. This was Pride Cleaners. Shirt was washed, starched and on a hanger as it should have been. They did an awesome job, in a rush and for $4.00! Highly recommend them and NOT Main Street Laundry! Poor quality service in every way..... read more

You'll meet some interesting folks in this place. If you think that meeting extras from "The Wire" would be interesting. Which it might be. Still, they have cheap machines, so if you don't have a washer and dryer, feel free to give this place a shot. Although, if you don't have a washer or dryer, look into getting one, as it is worth the money you normally would spend on plasma TVs or PS3s or whatever the kids buy nowadays. I came in to do some laundry in peace, where Dae Dae usually works. I used to work with her and she always brightens up my day, but this morning I must have made the worst mistake of my life. The tall, bald and later middle aged black man that's the manager SNAPPED on me simply because I didn't want to wait for him to take someone else's clothes out of a washer. I washed my hands before touching this person's clothes and even tried to make light of the very uncomfortable situation by saying I HAD washed my hands. He was so mean and unprofessional. He does not need to work with the public if he's going to snap on good natured customers over something so minimal. I could see if I'd stolen someone's clothes, or even if he were anywhere in sight when I was looking for him to take the clothes out himself, but he was very rude to me when he could have been polite and professional like a real servant of the community. So in summation, if you want a peaceful place to do your laundry on a Sunday morning, don't come to Main Street Laundry, because if you say or do anything this man unreasonably disapproves of, he'll take his miserable life's frustrations out on you. read more

Being in town for business and having too do an extended stay, needed too find a place to have clothes laundered. Really happy I stumbled onto Main Street Laundry. They promised and succeeded with a 1 hour clean and fold. They could not have been more pleasant and professional. Next time I am in town will definitely go here. Highly recommended. In reading some reviews on Main Street Laundry, all I can say is wake up people and count your blessings. This place offers the community with "Free" wash on certain days or week of the month and allows us to save money for your family to put food on the table, especially during these hard times. I my self truly appreciate Main Street Laundry and say "Thank You", for giving back to your community. I am still unemployed struggling to maintain my families needs and this is a blessing. Yes, the parking is a bear and it gets quite crouded, but if we all do are part use the facility and empty our machines so others can use them instead of leaving to McDonalds or burger King, just be considerate of others...we can all recieve the blessing. Big place with lots of machines, but many of them had Do Not Use tags on them. Floors were dirty and covered in lint and hair. Front load washers were $2.50 per load and dryers $.25 per 5 minutes. The timers on the dryers were all different. Starting multiple dryers at the same time and the timers were off by 4 or 5 minutes from each other. Some dryers definitely dried the clothes better than others. read more

I like the the set up of this place inside. There is plenty of room to sit and read, while not getting to know your neighbor, and windows all around. Nothing cave like or basementy about this place. There are also a lot of folding tables available and the help is normally nice and helpful. But it's kind of pricey unless you go on discount days and lately half the machines are broken. Parking also sucks. A+ if they ever get the machines fixed, you go on discount days and avoid the busiest hours - I've had good luck from 2pm to 4pm midweek. Otherwise try someplace else. read more
