I came here as a visitor, dropping a friend off. We went inside and a lady at a podium, directed us to a certain office. The lady in the certain office directed back up front. No clue to the exact "upfront office". Ended up in the wrong office, they directed us to the office directly in front of the very first lady at the podium who told us to go to the office in the back. I think that we are in the correct office! This office sends us back to the very first lady at the podium so that we can check in with her. Then they send her down stairs, I go along to wait in that waiting area. I get down stairs and the staff began to speaking rude to me as a visitor. I stood in front of the chair to see the directions they are going. ( I didn't move) They thought it was necessary for her to tell me that the room was fur patients only. I was responding by saying I'm just watching the directions. They other staff member was present and must have got offended by my response so she kicked me out of the waiting area and told me I had to leave the area. I asked, shall I go back to the room that we started in. Her nasty response was, just find a waiting room upstairs. The improvements needed for a pleasant visit would have been for the lady at the podium to take charge and ask questions so that she can do her job and direct people to the correct area. That would have prevented us from going to 3 different places. A staff member was blowing her nose the entire time I sat in the waiting room which was really disgusting. Om our exit, the lady at the podium did tell us to press "S" for street to leave the building. So I guess that makes up for the entrance..... NO! I wise not to come here again. Not even to drop someone off. I'll just stay in my car instead of parking in the valet. By the way, he was the only person to provide exceptional customer service! read more

I called Main Street Radiology to make an appointment. My preferred location was Downtown Flushing. Unfortunately, they were booked until December. Luckily, the scheduler was able to book an appointment for today. It was about a 30-minute walk from my house to Main Street Radiology. I haven't stepped foot inside this Bayside location for eight years. My arrival time was at 11:45 a.m. to check-in. I completed the pre-registration questionnaire. I went downstairs to L1 for my annual mammogram, breast ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound, and abdomen ultrasound. Wish me luck! read more

Biopsy experience wasn't too bad. So you get a different color robe from when you do a mammogram and also a bag that contains a pen, disposable cold pack, reusable cold pack and a instruction pamphlet. The doctor that did my procedure announced every step so nothing was a surprise. They numbed the area and took a few samples. I was instructed to Ice the area on and off every 30 minutes till 6PM. Also, not to pickup anything heavy. I had to pick up my kids and attend a school event, so I asked for a second reusable cold pack. I was walking around with them in a lunch pouch with other Ice packs to keep them cold. The things us moms have to do. One thing annoyed me at this location, the parking attendant parked my vehicle but left it running. How do I know? When I went to download the dashcam video to post on google maps (still need to), I could tell my vehicle was left running. read more

If you have a high-deductible health plan (which if you work for a private company that isn't in tech or health care and you aren't unionized, there is a good chance that you do), there is a possibility that you may incur above-market rates similar to what I experienced earlier this year, even when this facility is an in-network provider. I initially had a double breast ultrasound (first ultrasound of my life, and the kind that you get once a year). Insurance company later informed me a few weeks later when I saw my EOB that the facility coded (what I thought should have been a preventative procedure) as diagnostic because the facility stated in its billing of the initial ultrasound to the insurance company that it found a mass in my left breast, and such findings are considered diagnostic. The billing department at this facility told me the opposite - that it did not code this initial ultrasound as diagnostic, and it coded it as an initial screening. The facility's billing explanation doesn't add up with the insurance company's billing explanation, and I am stuck in the middle with a 4-digit bill for the initial ultrasound for what should have been preventative care. However, the story doesn't stop there. The facility then called me back to do a second ultrasound on my left breast a couple of days later (as this is a second ultrasound, no question that the second ultrasound is considered diagnostic). All in all, $1,437 ($1,114 for the initial annual double breast ultrasound and $323 for the second left breast ultrasound) that I paid. Billing questions where the facility telling me that the cost of the initial annual ultrasound is between me and the insurance company, and the insurance company telling me that the cost of the initial annual ultrasound is between me and the facility. Furthermore, a staff called to inform me that I should come in for a second ultrasound of the left breast a few days after the initial annual ultrasound (I only found out a few weeks later that the facility already knew about the mass in my left breast after performing the initial annual ultrasound based on its billing to the insurance company (and didn't inform me about the mass until the conclusion of the second ultrasound)). When I asked on that call what's the purpose of the second ultrasound, the staff said that they will tell me once I come in for my second ultrasound. I know that this is a long and detailed review. Just want to make the public (with high deductible health plans) aware of what they may be in for at this facility because this is not chump change. If you gotten this far, this is a summary of my experience at this facility: (1) Be prepared that you may pay above-market rates at this facility with your high-deductible health insurance. Just to illustrate this point that the facility's own math doesn't even math - how does an ultrasound for 1 breast cost the patient $323, but an ultrasound for 2 breasts cost the patient almost 4x that amount, or $1,114? (2) And furthermore, be prepared that you may pay what appears to be an repetitive second procedure with your high-deductible health insurance just so the facility can let you know about its conclusion that it previously made (but didn't tell you) after the initial procedure. If the facility already concluded and informed the insurance company that I had a mass in my left breast as part of its billing for the initial annual ultrasound (and that's why the initial annual ultrasound is considered diagnostic instead of preventative according to the insurance company), why did this facility wait until after it performed the second ultrasound to inform me about that mass? read more

Yelp seriously needs to allow zero stars they do not even deserve a star. The employees there are so rude and treat you like you are some nuisance. They have a job because there are patients if there were no patients they wouldn't even Have a job . This has got to be the nicest staff of any office. From the reception to the radiologist Christina was awesome and Fabulous as she explained in detail what was going to occur. Christina made it seem to me that this was the first time she was explaining the procedure but she must have said the same thing to many others previously. Kai was also very helpful and very attentive to everything. Dr Han Kim had the best attitude and deminior he was efficient and professional as well as being very friendly and amazing and Fabulous. This will always be my go to place whenever I need to get any prociders done. read more

There's absolutely no worse experience when an appointment was made and you show up on time only to find out that they made a mistake and changed the appt without your knowledge. You starve yourself the whole day to get a colonoscopy and couldn't get an exam. This is incredibly unprofessional and I will not be coming back again. read more

More like 1.5 stars. Staff does shepherd people in and out quickly. Xray tech was nice. My issue is with billing department. I was quoted $80 out of pocket for the 2 xrays I had from the initial meet. The lady at reception mentioned that if I billed insurance it might be a 'little' more expensive. I knew prior and told her specifically that I know I would have to pay the full amount since I needed to fulfill my deductible prior to insurance copayment. However, imagine my surprise when I logon and see that Main Street Radiology billed $700+ to my insurance. (Of which I will have to pay to satisfy my deductible). I am beyond disappointed with how this turned out. This is not a 'little' more expensive. This is close to 10 times more than what I was envisioning my out of pocket cost to be. What I don't understand is why they didn't bill the amount they quoted me as the cost for the xrays. In addition, their CD burner was broken. I was not able to receive a copy of the xrays. Echoing what others have said: for first time visits depending on your insurance plan be wary of using your insurance here. I will not be returning. read more

Great visit today. It's always the staff who makes or breaks a place like this. Jennifer was so warm and professional for my mammo- really went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. So kind! And Emily was excellent with the Ultra sound- both the breast and the thyroid. Professional, friendly, accommodating when I asked to have my head elevated so as not to experience vertigo. They are both assets to your staff. And the young man who booked all my appointments for the mammo and the ultrasound in the weeks before was so so helpful and professional. Wish I could recall his name? Matthew? I've had some not so great experiences here in the past, but today was excellent and it's because of the above and behind staff members. read more

the women on the phone make you wait 20 minutes per wait time and I only specify the time because they will pick up with a grand nasty attitude and a lack of manner, motivation, and after every sentence you get the mightiest sigh. Agreed that something has changed. It is such a hassle to make an appointment now. I remember last year where I told them what exam I need and the date I want. The rep would tell me what is available and there was communication between us to see what time works for me. Now the rep would storm off and put you on hold for five minutes to look for appointment without asking you first whether you have other tests. She would come back with an appointment different from my required date that doesn't work for me. Then she stormed off again and had be on hold again to look for another appointment. I didn't have a chance to tell her I have two more test that need scheduling. Also she didn't ask which doctor put in the order. Btw all the uncommunicative handling I was put on hold for 3 times. It used to be smooth and quick where the agent would be on line with the a patient telling us what appointment is available. What a patient wants will most likely not be available so putting us on hold and throwing us whatever appointment you think work for us is really prolonging the process of making an appointment. Someone mentioned that you guys use to offer appointment scheduling online ( I never knew it). Maybe it is time to bring that back. It was good until I met NICCKI horrible experience my ear are still hurting from the MRI of my knee. I wasn't even in the machine. She didn't care about my feelings or that my ear plugs kept falling out. She just wanted to get the job over with! I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to this place when she is working! I pray my ears are okay u til I see my doctor on Sunday. ( at first I said let me give it a few days and see!) but no I'm still in pain and I can't hear unless your close to my ears! I think this was the best experience I've ever had in one of these places. I'm here on a Saturday morning, there aren't so many people here (a lot of space and seating!), the staff is nice (and they actually seem happy, what a relief!), and the place is clean & well kept. I should note that I was only in L1 (the basement). I can't speak for the other departments here. I had an ultrasound done, and they've got a gel-heater, which makes its application to one's belly much more comfortable. I had to take off my shirt for a chest xray (because of a graphic on the front that could interfere with the results), and they've got some nice, wooden lockers in which you can keep your belongings during the test. My wife was upstairs, and she adds that it's the same experience than it is downstairs, pro and friendly staff, clean, and fast service. read more

What a Wonderful Facility! All of the Staff from Gwendolyn at the front desk to Patricia who did my 2 ultrasounds to the woman who did my x-rays and Cary who did my mammograms and Pauline the office manager. All these women were caring, compassionate, understanding and patient. I had to have six procedures done at this Radiology and aside from one guy who was rude and disrespectful to me because I only wanted a woman to take care of me. Everything went perfect. There is no lack of compassion and empathy from these women or the majority of the employees. With more invasive procedures they show incredible respect and privacy, and the many occasions I have been to several of these locations they have treated me as if I were a personal friend or someone in their family. They have All up-to-date equipment and they take all insurance. Also, all of the equipment is clean and the facility is clean and well organized. You also get your own locker to store your belongings safely and securely. If you truly want good service, reliable staff and feel assured about your tests being performed and it's accurate results. I find it extremely comforting If you prefer a woman for any kind of test internally or mammograms that you need they always have women on hand so you don't need to feel uncomfortable having a man. The wait time usually is short the majority of the time. They also have extensive staff speaking almost any language needed, Such as Mandarin, Arabic, Hebrew, Spanish, French, Chinese etc. read more

I had to come here for a barium swallow test and, boy, was I nervous. Calling to make an appointment was easy peasy, and I was able to get one on the same week. It was going to be my first time and my mind was racing: "How long is this going to take?" "Are the people going to be friendly?" "Will I know what to do? What if I mess up?" "Am I going to die?" (I'm a worrier, not a warrior) So... I went in, not knowing what to expect. Still in the days of the COVID-19 pandemic, they had a check-in system. Limited seating made me nervous, but it was no problem. I arrived early for my appointment and, despite it being my first visit, checking in was speedy and I didn't have to wait long (probably five minutes only). After waiting, I had to go down to another part of the building, where there was another waiting room. The wait was again short (probably another five minutes). I was then escorted to the testing room by a front desk staff / medical assistant, and she sensed my anxiety. She reassured me that I didn't have to be nervous, and that helped. In the actual testing room, the medical assistant was pleasant, straightforward, and thorough, giving me a breakdown on what to do and what to do expect. I had to briefly wait again for the doctor, but when she did, she was just as pleasant, straightforward, and thorough. The actual test lasted about five minutes, and I left with nothing but a positive impression of the place. Because of the short waiting time, the pleasant and sensitive people, and the lowering of high expectations, my first time here was a five-star experience. I've been going to Main St Radiology for years without issues, but something must have changed. I recall being able to make an appointment online - that's gone. So I called and got a message saying the wait time was 22 minutes, but that I could get a callback without losing my place in line - I opted for the callback. About 20 min later, I received a callback which immediately disconnected after I answered. So I had to start from scratch and called again, and this time I was told that the wait was 33 minutes! But I decided to wait on line this time. Suprisingly after 7 minutes of recorded messages, I got transferred to a ringing line, so I thought I got lucky! No such luck! It rang 50 times (no kidding - I was keeping score!) before I decided that this company just was not worth my time. Moving on and finding another provider that has more respect for its customers. read more

I'm having surgery in a few weeks and came here for a few clearences. The place is being renovated/upgraded so there is a bit of a wait before seeing the technician. Please don't be upset with them, it's not their fault. Try and be a bit understanding. I waited about an hour once they got my checked in upstairs, till I saw my tech. They have a TV in the lounge, and free wifi, so feel free to use that to spend the time. My Tech Georgia, was an absolute sweetheart. I was a bit nervous because I've never had any type of surgery or anesthesia before, and the standard workup has been a bit stressful, because it's just getting me closer to surgery day. Georgia made me feel very calm, and comfortable. It was like talking to a friend. She is, friendly, warm, and very knowledgeable. She made sure I knew what she was doing and if she had to put some more pressure in certain areas, so I was aware. Overall it was a great experience, and I'm a bit more comfortable with having surgery. read more

Used to go there a lot and most of the people were nice. Once I had to go for a thyroid iodine uptake scan like over 10 years ago, the technician in there told me not to eat Chinese food after I took the iodine pill. I was so shocked and asked him what he meant? He went like, "Chinese food are salty, you are all worked up and all excited." When I was leaving, I told the manager what he said to me, the manager went in to ask him and came out to tell me he only said not to eat salty stuff. I don't know how saying racist things like this to patients was tolerated, and how he could just lie to the manager like nothing had happened. I felt really uncomfortable having to go through the procedure with him. Since then, I avoided this location. read more

It is my first time to write negative review on Yelp. I was planning to do an ultrasonic exam at Main Street Radiology, after sending over my insurance information and made the reservation, the front desk confirmed that the exam will be covered by my insurance. So I just went in for a 5 minutes ultrasonic diagnostic, and after 2 weeks, I got a $800 bill, get the feedback from my insurance company I have to pay for the full amount because there is a deducible in my policy. 2 things I want to mention: 1. I did ask if the insurance will cover my expense before I proceed, the front desk confirmed that(I highly doubt their never bother to check for the insurance info). 2. Not a word about the deductible or anything regarding the exam expense was mentioned by these guys during the whole process. I call the customer service, but the only answer is they will send the message to their supervisor. This is really an unprofessional way to treat your patient. I always  go  to  this  location  for  my ultrasounds  due  to health  issues. Patricia  is  my  favorite  ultrasound  technician  because  she always takes  her  time to make  sure  the ultrasound  pictures  are  clear. I Love  her  empathetic and  professional  attitude. Overall  this  location  is  very clean  and  handicapped  accessible in my  opinion. I wouldn't  go  anywhere  else  for  my  ultrasounds!! read more

I went to Main Street radiology first thing in the morning. My appointment was for 8 o'clock and I was taken in right about that time. I really didn't have to wait at all. The front desk staff was very efficient and helpful. I was processed rather quickly. My technician, Patricia, was amazing. She was very friendly and able to completely put me at ease which I find to be very important, especially when one is already feeling vulnerable. She was able to take my mind off my breast sonogram and had me chatting about all sorts of other things. I left feeling cheerful and relieved. All said and done, I was back home at about 8:30. I called 2 times 718-428-1500 to make an appointment for chest xray on 6/14/22 and 6/15/22 and spoke to 2 different girls and they both told me that is not necessary for appointment for x ray you can walk in before 7:00pm. I left my job and drove and arrived 4:30 pm on 6/15/22 at the door was a lady and she ask me for appointment I told her that the center when I called they told me that I don't need an appointment for xrays. and then I went inside and spoke to Irma (is a guy) and he was insisting that since I don't have an appointment he cannot help me. I was insisting explain to him but he was saying one of the machines are broke and I cannot help you. He gave me an appointment for today 6/16/22 at 11:00 am . I arrived at 10:30 am Irma today he was at the door and ask for his name the other lady she wasn't there today. He send me a link yesterday and I pre-registered also and then I went downstair Level 1 and I finish by 11:00 am. The other employees and the lady that took the xray was very nice and polite Place was very clean . These 2 people they don't have no respect for the time of the people . I left my job to arrive there lost half day yesterday and another half day today. I had to get renal sonogram done and I picked this location due to its convenient. Bonus point for having a parking lot behind the facility. My appointment was 11:30am, was told to arrive by 11am. The check-in process was fast, I was in and out by 11:35am! Everything was easily instructed and provided. The facility looked clean and neat. I felt safe and well taken care of. I was register, filled out forms and completed my X-ray in approximately 15 minutes. Not bad for a walk in without appointment. The wait was absolutely terrible. Not sure about the staff either. The ladies don't seem to care that patients' time actually means something. What a shame! Had an appointment for 6pm but had to wait for over an hour with no explanation whatsoever. What's the point of making an appointment if I have to sit and wait for this long? It's also not the easiest to get a soon enough appointment. The positive aspect to this place though, is that they do offer evening hours so that's helpful, especially for those who don't want to take time off from work for this. Go somewhere else. I'm surprised this place has so many negative reviews... Perhaps it has to do with the specific service.. My mom has been here 4 times to the radiology/vascular interventionist dept. Everyone here is so professional and so nice. They made sure my mom had something to eat after her 2 hour surgery. Dr. Shao is wonderful, and takes the time to explain. The wait time is always weird... sometimes 5 minutes other times over an hour. I don't mind waiting because I am so satisfied with the service. read more

I had an appointment at Main Street Radiology and was pleasantly surprised that they had a parking lot (valet) for patients. Everyone was extremely nice and efficient, from confirming my appointment, to registering, to having an ultrasound. I was called in, actually welcomed in, by an ultrasound technician whose name was Patricia. She was extremely kind, assisting me when necessary. She was very through, explaining what she was doing. I arrived to the facility around 10AM (appointment was at 10:30AM). Staff attended to me quickly, checked me in, and had me fill out first time patient papers. I was taken in at 10:30AM, which was my appointment time. Patricia was my tech and she guided me through the entire procedure. She was patient and explained every step of the procedure before performing. Patricia was very professional and patient. Location of facility is convenient for me. There can be a lot of patients in the waiting area, but staff are quick and accommodating. They will do their best to honor your appointment time. read more
