I've been visiting the Lit Park East location over the past few months to see Shelbie for haircuts,…read morescalp treatments, and blowouts. The salon is charming, with a cutesy mid-mod interior. Upon arrival, they always offer a beverage from their long list of options (and I of course always go with the wine). While this location does feel a bit off the beaten path, it's worth the trip knowing I'll leave feeling perfectly satisfied with the result! I especially recommend seeing Shelbie for a shampoo. She gives an amazing scalp massage and has the touch of an angel. The washroom is cozy and dimly lit, and the chairs are ridiculously comfortable (perhaps too comfortable if you fall asleep as easily as I do). They carry a wide selection of high-end products, which makes it nearly impossible to leave without buying something. The products sell themselves, so you never have to deal with the dreaded pushy salesmanship you find at other salon establishments. I have entirely upgraded my hair care routine thanks to the help and knowledge of the stylists at Lit! I adore the Kevin Murphy product line, and have also become obsessed with the scent of the Oribe products. They keep the Oribe hand soap and hand créme by the bathroom sink, so make sure to stop in for a little hand treatment before leaving. From start to finish, the entire experience is always relaxing and rejuvenating!

Always a great experience…read more I've gotten two hair cuts there, the first by Sage the second by Kate. Both experiences were effortless. As someone who is very picky about wanting a natural cut, both stylists took the time to walk through various options and make me feel comfortable. As a bonus- they have yummy local Atticus tea and awesome iPad magazines, which I love because it's super sustainable and let's me look at outside online and food magazines while I get my hair cut as opposed to the standard cosmopolitan.

When I arrived, I explained what I was looking for which was covering the regrowth, and Annika…read moreseemed to understand, saying it "sounded easy." She began applying foils then started removing them almost immediately after placing them. I politely asked whether my hair had lifted enough, as I'm usually placed under a dryer for 10-15 minutes to process. She replied, "I'm really slow at foils, so you should be ready." After rinsing, I could tell something was off right away--my hair looked significantly darker than before. When it came time for styling, I asked for a big, bouncy blowout, but instead my hair was dried mostly by hand with her raking her fingers through my hair, with only a few sections near my face touched up with a round brush. The result was brown, frizzy, and flat. When I expressed concern--especially since my hair appeared about four shades darker and still had a clear line where my roots were--she said, "This is what I had time for today. Sorry your hair didn't lift enough." It honestly feels like instead of lightening my roots, she darkened the rest of my hair to try to blend them. The front desk booked with a color correction specialist, which tells me it was clear that something went wrong. I am attaching photos--they really show how far off the result is from what I expected. I also noticed a $30 charge for "an extra bowl of color" which seems to be a theme throughout every review I am reading. I would not care about this if my hair had not ended up brown. And to answer the question- yes I paid full price and gave a 18% tip. After being booked with a color correction specialist I received 3 messages - 2 texts and 1 email - stating they had my credit card on file and that if I did not cancel within the 48 hour period I would be charged full price for services. I am not even sure what they charge for color correction- when they booked me they did not quote a price for how much they planned to charge me to fix my hair.
