The raspberry and cheese danish tasted fresh and had a good balance between the sweet and savory. The smaller members of the party opted for chocolate chip and oatmeal and raisin cookies. The Chicken Caesar is served with a large packet of Ken's Caesar dressing, which I liked very much. I also got a cherry-lavender lemonade which was so refreshing! We added a black velvet cupcake and snickerdoodle cookie to our lunch, and brought home a cinnamon roll (plenty of icing). Oh my, they were heavenly!! The shop is very clean with sweet touches of decor, and the bathroom was spotless and well appointed. Note- there are no prices listed on the menu items. That made it awkward to stand there and have to ask how much everything is. I prefer to know how much I'm spending before I spend it. I want local shops to thrive, not get swallowed up by big-box stores. That said, I was genuinely disappointed after seeing Jacquelyn's recent Facebook post. Everyone is entitled to personal opinions, but using a business platform to label people as "dangerous" and "unsafe" simply for having different views isn't community-building--it's divisive, and it's bad for business. Profiling customers and publicly signaling who is "acceptable" to walk through your door is not how you grow or sustain a welcoming business. As a result, I won't be spending my money here anymore, and I won't be recommending it to others. If the energy spent dividing the community were redirected into improving product quality--like making cakes that are actually moist and buttercream that doesn't resemble Play-Doh--it might do more good for the business than turning customers away. Supporting local businesses should feel inclusive, not conditional.
