I understand that serving a large party can be challenging, but if one server wasn't comfortable handling a group of this size, they should have asked for assistance from other staff. Large parties deserve attentive service just like any other table. Overall, the combination of overpriced, underwhelming food and poor service made for a very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return or recommend this restaurant based on this visit.

As for the food we had lots of positives to say. We tried the crab bisque appetizer which was thick and creamy with just the right amount of seasoning and crab meat. The portion for a first course was generous. We also got the steamed mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce. The mussels were cooked perfectly. They were plump, tender and flavorful the sauce was delicious. Be sure to ask for extra bread to soak up some of the broth and juices. Crisp, yes, but overall just ok...I prefer mine more savory than sweet. The stuffed flounder was also very well done. Delicious. The flounder was cooked just right. Flaky and moist. The onion rings were thick cut, beer batter dipped. They were hot and crisp and the portion like everything else here was generous. In the end we did need a box to bring some of our entrees home. We left very satisfied. So I was pretty satisfied with the food and the service. Now if they could just do something to get the dining room as upscale as the food and service this would be an outstanding dining experience... thus only four stars instead of five.

There are usually no more than three people working in the shop at one time, but it seems to take the staff nearly 5-10 minutes per order. It's one thing if they're filling large orders, which does happen, but some folks just order soft serve or hand dipped ice cream and its still takes a ridiculously long amount of time to receive an order. I'm not sure why that is. The inside of the ice cream shop is currently closed to the public, so all orders are taken at the outdoor windows. There is very little cover from the sun, just a couple of umbrellas on two of the picnic tables, so customers have to stand in line with the sun baking their skin (wear sunscreen, folks!) while the line crawls at a snail's pace. It's really unfortunate because the ice cream is great. Just be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes if you visit in the spring/summer/fall.
