I requested two fine line tattoos (dandelion and big dipper) for a next day appointment. When I got there, the tattoo artist had a poor google image of a the Big Dipper that was not like the example tattoo I asked for. No art was ready. He drew up something sloppy in a few minutes and I told him immediately I didn't like the artwork and I wanted more detail. He drew it again more nearly, but still didn't have the details I wanted. He ASSURED me that the artwork was a "guideline" and he would add more detail (shading, adding to the big stars, etc.) when he was doing the tattooing. I trusted him (HUGE mistake). I should have walked out. I don't think this man has ever done a fine line tattoo. Every single line is sloppy and squiggly. He did NOT add any extra detail. It is exactly like the artwork I told him I didn't like. When all was said and done, it was exactly an hour from when I walked in, but significantly less for the actual tattooing. He was unprepared for the appointment and it made it go longer than it needed to. When I asked to confirm the price, he told me $250. ‍ I was overcharged by $100 for shitty tattoos that I now have to pay AGAIN to have fixed by someone else. I will never go back here and I recommend you look elsewhere if you're wanting a fine line tattoo.

Raiders won, and I was obliged to allow raider shield to be inked on to my skin. So, kids call this shop, asked if we could come get three, quarter sized single outline raider shields, one with a single letter added next to it, maybe 1/4 inch font, ankle. One with drumsticks an inch long crossed like the swords normally seen on the shield. Back of shoulder. The third was nickel-sized, single line outline of the shield. Behind ear. No details, no shading, the whole thing including setup and shooting the shit, took an hour and a quarter. Happy, we asked how much. We were told shop minimum is $150. We gave him 250. An hour later we get a text. You guys misunderstood me. $150 EACH. You owe me another 200 bucks. We paid. The guy was cool, Hunter. Shop was clean, very cool vibe. Distant associations with a favorite artist of mine and shared admiration of JP Patches made for pleasant conversation. I dunno. What do you think? Get clear information on prices up front. At 450 for 15 minutes of actual tattooing, seems high. Good Time Charlie never would have £#% #%?¥ me like that.

The day of the tattoo, he screwed around for 45 minutes and when he went to place the tattoo, I told him that it was supposed to be bigger and he now tells me he can't do it bigger. I say fine, I've already waited for him to draw it out and have two smoke breaks. He then proceeds to complain during the entire tattoo about how he was doing such great work for so little price. For three hours he complained that I was basically short changing him on a price he agreed to beforehand. At the end off the three hours he informs me that my time was up even though he had not applied shading or details to make it look anything other than what a 6th grader could do. I'm pretty upset by this point. When I get to the register he tells the girl that I owe full price. When I remind him that I gave him the deposit, (she said he had not put it in the computer) he just said charge her the full price and walked off. Did not feel like getting stabbed so I just threw the money on the counter and left. What a thieving, unprofessional jerk. so beware.

Unfortunately my tattoo didn't turn out great and instead of taking responsibility the blame was put on me and my skin. I have 20+ tattoos and followed after care protocol, stayed out of the sun, no swimming etc. Also, touch ups are $100 just a heads up. This was not communicated until after I reached out about a touch up. Most tattoo shops do complimentary touch ups so I would recommend looking elsewhere. (Edited: touch ups are $105)

I sent her some examples (mostly her own), we collaborated back and forth until she was sure it was exactly what I wanted and with her touches. She stayed late to draw, and to finish knowing I traveled all the way from Olympia. I've had work done from some of the most well known and respected tattoers in seattle and Danara is right there with them. She's up and coming, attention to detail is impeccable and she just has great intuition. Lastly she's friendly and welcoming as can be. Even bought me lunch when I sat for around 7 hours. You just can't go wrong.
