Very good service calls. They really apply what has been posed as purpose of visit. Their visiting technicians can really assist and respond to questions. Are not afraid to say they do not know, while arranging for follow-up. Comments are on call record sheets hung on door knob. Be sure to use those sheets as invoice. Or, check to ensure your email messages are not going into Junk Box. Also, if payments are not reflected on call sheets, call them. read more

His level of customer service is a level you don't find these days any more (sadly) He truly cares about the service he provides and takes pride in it. Don't waste your time or money with this company. They did a weed control visit and killed parts of my lawn. I complained and was told they would repair the dead spots by over seeding it. Nope. They came out again and applied more weed killer and "fertilizer ". You are better off doing the research and buying the lawn fertilizer at Home Depot or Lowes. read more

Also has completely transformed our lawn - its lush and green without weeds or crabgrass. They basically apply dry fertilizer verses the wet. Slower release. The sales guy was smart and helpful but the rest was your basic application. Coverage was a bit sparse around the edges of the lawn. I had used a popular company before Mainely Grass. Maybe my expections are too high but I don't think so. Unfortunately we got this company when lawnmaster was sold. It took us 2 years to figure out that they gave us substandard service as our lawn got worse and worse. The straw that broke the camel back is that they did not even apply the last treatment in full. We pretended that we were not home and saw they only did the front. We even checked the back and there was NO chemical put down. This is fraud. When we complained they said they would come back but it's too late in the season. Beware of this company! read more

They came as promised to begin the process of reseeding, I watered as directed and there were many bare spots that I felt did not receive enough seed. After several phone calls they came back to reseed the following season. Same spots are still bare of grass and I have more grass growing in my gravel walkway than anywhere else on the property. Mainely Grass is without a doubt the worst lawn care company on the face of the earth. I feel cheated to be able to only rate them as 1 Star when they should in fact be below 1 Star. Prior to contracting with Mainely Grass my lawn was plush and dark green without any bare spots. My lawn was the talk and envy of the entire neighborhood. Due to time constraints I employed Mainely Grass to fertilize my lawn. Over the past several years I watched my lawn rapidly deteriorate to pale green in color and the entire lawn grass was thin and scraggly. The technicians came and fertilized the lawn that was loaded with crabgrass, some in excess of 18 inches in diameter. Never attempted to kill the crabgrass. The last straw was when my lawn was infested with grubs, and Mainely Grass made no attempt to correct the problem. They had charged me for Grub Control in the Contract. This winter they increased my payment by 182 %. I've given them thousands of dollars and spent thousands of dollars in irrigation costs. That's not going to happen again. I fired them this winter. In the Spring I went to Home Depot. Got Scotts Step 1, Weed and Feed, plus Grub Ex. My lawn now looks like it used to, dark green, thick and plush. This was the first season with them. They bought out the company I was with. We have complained 3 different times about all the weeds in my yard. Someone again came out and said my lawn looked healthy. I literally have had the worst looking lawn in the 21 years I have owned this property. read more

Would not recommend this company! They promised services and did not follow through in a timely manner and therefore they essentially ruined my lawn for this season. I contacted them in March 2021 to re-seed my lawn and signed up for their lawn service for the year. They came in April and did a spring fertilizer and I asked when they would re-seed since I really wanted grass for the spring/summer. They said likely in May. May came and was cool at first so I kept calling them to see if they were coming and they told me later in the month. I knew it was going to get hot so I was nervous they wouldn't get it done before the heat and my lawn has no irrigation and all sun. I told them this and called them before Memorial Day Weekend since I knew we were getting lots of rain. They said I was a priority but no one came. Then a service guy finally showed up a week later when we were having a week of 90+ temps. I told him to leave and canceled my contract with them since there was no way I could keep up with the watering and it re-seeding at that point would be a waste of time. The service guy even agreed. Fortunately, I hadn't paid anything up front so was not out any money. However, now my lawn was going to be terrible for another year and it was too late in the season to hire another company. I understand companies are short staffed, but I wish they had just told me they couldn't fit me in so I could have gone with another company. I think the company is too big and makes empty promises. The Customer Service rep is just a messenger and doesn't actually solve any of your concerns. Don't use this company!!! read more

I signed up to use Mainely Grass fertilization program which included grub preventative. We clearly had a grub issue and when signing up I asked if this program would take care of all my fertilization and grub issues. They confirmed, so we signed up. After we signed up and paid almost $1,000, they informed us the grub preventative would not resolve our current grub issue. They insisted that we had to pay additional money to take care of our grub problem. Why would they not tell us that upfront. It feels like a complete bait and switch. When discussing with customer service they said it was a miscommunication, but did not take any responsibility for the miscommunication. Additionally the customer service team was extremely aggressive, rude, and non apologetic. If they took responsibility and apologized for the miscommunication, much of this would have been resolved. This company will sell you on one set of products and then later say you need a completely different set of products to fix the issues. When I signed up I was informed all my issues would be taken care of, so why are they now trying to get me to spend more money? Advice for future customers, make sure you get it in writing specifically what the services will do, and additional services that are not covered. Like many others have stated. This company is truly awful. From the very beginning they quoted me 3 different prices for the same services. They have failed to show up 2 out of the 5 times they were suppose to come. My lawn has more weeds in it than it ever has before. Getting through on the phone is painful. I get promised call backs that never come. Sent an email complaining that I was not satisfied and never heard back. They have zero clue how to run a company. Maybe they were doing fine in little York Maine but once they tried to expand out to other areas it's a train wreck. Avoid. read more

I have had the same experience as Jamaal R. I spent more than $800 this season between the Lawn and tick treatment and the grass looks marginal. They treated some weeds and killed a 30' square section of my lawn. In addition, they do not clean off their spreader so there areas where you can see it dumped too much fertilizer and burnt the grass. read more

When I first signed up with this company, they were very good. Over the last few years their service has declined. I had a new lawn put in 3 years ago and as a result of their lack of service and expertise, it is now been destroy by sod webworms which they did not catch until it was too late. Run the other way....first time we used a lawn service and had to call and complain all season. Didn't do the side yard, missed the hill. Weeds and crabgrass taking over the front yard - they claim they sprayed for weeds. Took 3 months to get a green lawn and now we are infested with grubs (we paid for that to be done and wasn't). Too many excuses and bad results. Mosquito squad did much better job for mosquito removal too. read more

Bad company stay away from them they showed up 20 mins ago and started spraying the lawn for ticks at 12:00 and got in their trucks at 12:03 then sat in their trucks for 5 mins and left at 12:08 we have a 2.5 acre property it should not take 3 minutes to spray and they did not spray full yard they did one outside perimeter and cut back through middle of yard and I have this on video dont bother giving your money to them read more

I got stuck with these guys after they bought Lawnmaster...Was a Lawnmaster customer for 20 years and dumped these guys after just a few applications...Awful, had a bad chemical burn in my front yard, and weeds EVERYWHERE. Same experience as others here - I did my own lawn for 16 years with no problems. Started using them when I began with health problems. After two years, it was taken over with crabgrass, with huge dead spots! It's completely ruined. They supposedly came out to "fix" it only to make it worse. HORRIBLE. read more
