Update to my Oct 6 Review: The management team got back to me after I wrote the first review. They removed the delinquent account issue and acknowledged it was a mixup on their end. My lawn looks worse than when we started with the EXPENSIVE service. Whenever I called to inquire as to the reason for bare, burnt spots in my lawn they tried to upsell me another service. I understand that maybe these things were necessary, but all they do is try and upsell you. I do not recommend. read more

Don't use this company or you will regret it. The customer service representative does not listen to customers and manager never calls back. Representative thinks that it's fun to disagree with your opinion. They cancel more than they come, don't do the whole yard, make excuses about employees work and don't care if you drop them. I used Trugreen Lawn first and their service was not effective and for 2 weeks I could not speak to a manager. When they tried calling me, there number comes up as spam or robo call! Our technician, Joseph did a very good job for us over the last few years. Our lawn looks very good. Had to call in for a revisit due to persistent weeds in front yard right by the front door. We we revisited in a timely fashion. Since we have had this problem 2 years in a row, I would hope that our record would dictate a better attention going forward and a proactive approach. Mainly Grass is a complete waste of money! We spent upwards of $900 for our lawn to look worse than before they came....when we called to complain about the weeds they sent someone who said "they are dying no need to re-spray" the pictures below are weeks after they said that and as you see they are alive and taking over the lawn! I also spoke to a manager who said after all this they would send someone out for a soil test which NEVER happened! They has a million excuses about why we have the weeds but NEVER once called us, or offered help with the problem. They refunded a small portion of our money but there customer service is awful and they are very defensive and rude. Mainely Grass is the complete antithesis of everything Lawn Master represented. Mainely Grass is a high priced, overly confident, rip off. I was home today while they came out to treat for mosquito and ticks. Tech did 1/3 of the yard barely and left. I called right away and the unprofessional on the other line was not concerned at all with the poor work just that I caught them. I loved their service In the past. Realize they were mandated to move to organic fertilizer, but they could have been proactive to test the soils with the change, advised Lyme applications start of season vs very late (I ended up doing it myself they wanted to charge me) because soil was high in PH and organic was not strong enough. They do show up on time. Nice guys but will discontinue my service and do it myself. read more

The sprayer went around our complex pretty fast. He skipped my cottage and area around it,, being the last one on the end in the woods, where we have the most trouble with mosquitos. I watched him and could not believe he ignored my end. It's also where the dumpster is which is also a problem area. I doubt this application will be effective. read more

Been a customer for 5+ years only to see my lawn get worse every year. Tried to get a manager to come out this year and evaluate, they just kept scheduling a tech. Over 4 weeks now and still no appointment. And I have talked with actual people on the phone.... no call. Their service is suspect and their CS is a joke. Agree with many here. Seems like as long as the checks keep being cashed, ownership really doesn't give two hoots about quality or customer service. When I signed up, I told the tech based on how my lawn already looked I had high expectations. Three applications later and they were done. If you take pride in your lawn, just do it yourself. I have been a customer for 17 years and have always been happy with their service. This year I noticed my front lawn had a large pattern of dead grass that didn't respond to water. I called Mainely Grass and they came out right away. They told me that their spreader had likely malfunctioned and dropped much too much fertilizer on my lawn. This happened in June and was the first thing seen when coming to my front door. It looked terrible. The account manager told me that they couldn't do anything til the fall when they would reseed it. I told them I was very unhappy with the fact that not only was my yard a mess, but I actually paid money to have it done, and I had to look at it all summer. She was clear that they were not even going to address the problem til fall. Despite several emails back and forth, they offered nothing by way of a solution. Everyone who has come to my house has commented on how bad my front lawn looked. Not very good press for Mainely Grass. I am very disappointed and will not be having their service anymore. read more

Been a customer for years. About halfway through this past year, the lawn started filing with weeds, and the mosquitoes were awful compared to my neighbors. I stopped my service, offering to pay for all but two treatments. This caused them to become enraged, they called almost every day for some time, until I ultimately spoke with a "director." Apparently this company is in financial disarray, as they refused to compromise and must need every cent to continue operating. My neighbors were appalled, and we negotiated a quote with a competitor of theirs. Not only were they significantly less expensive, the competitor actually uses professional equipment for their mosquito spray; an actual truck and not just a guy with a backpack. My wife (also my attorney) truly is the voice of reason (as usual). She told me it's not worth it, just pay the balance. We spoke with our neighbors, employees of her firm, and other folks in town. Altogether, Mainely Grass has lost about 20 customers in our area as a result of being unreasonable. Even if it's just for one season, they're out far more than the hundred dollars or so I thought was a fair compromise. My lawn still sucks, but at least I feel better about it. Read the bad reviews - they used to be good, but are now cutting corners, including reasonable customer service. We did not renew our contract this year. Service steadily declined and after 3 years we decided to call it quits. Last years service was shoddy, they failed to offer a critical step in aiding our lawn during a water ban, had a "wand malfunction" thay took out a good amount of the lawn and then haggled over needing to repair it. They were onsite with out notice and damaged property with out batting an eye. They tried to get out of it , it's exhausting !! This year they called multiple times to renew the contract and I told them each time we are not . They showed up last week and treated the lawn . I called them to have them correct the issue and they said they did .... as always and I just got a bill in my email. Ridiculous!!! Definitely go with them if your are looking for subpar work, little communication and no follow up to what they do while on your property. They damaged our driveway, the grass, and now charges for services we didn't agree to. We tried to work with them and see passed the little things but too much is too much. Prepaid for the season for mosquito and tick control. Called them requesting a spray 3 weeks after the last treatment as I found 2 ticks in the house. I received a lecture on the weather and was told they can't schedule the spray because "computer does it" and they will "get there when they can". Will not use them next year. read more

Very good service calls. They really apply what has been posed as purpose of visit. Their visiting technicians can really assist and respond to questions. Are not afraid to say they do not know, while arranging for follow-up. Comments are on call record sheets hung on door knob. Be sure to use those sheets as invoice. Or, check to ensure your email messages are not going into Junk Box. Also, if payments are not reflected on call sheets, call them. read more
