Tried this restaurant for lobster rolls. Cant speak to the fresh fish also sold inside, but for lobster rolls and chowders I would say it safely sits at 4 stars. You order inside, covered tables outside if you eat there. Staff very friendly and prompt. I had one roll with mayo and one with butter. Both were pretty good. The smaller one for $34 is decent portion. I think similar portion size to similar places around. Also had the lobster bisque, it was okay. Not sure I would be running back for it, but it was decent. If you're in town shopping and looking for a quick lobster roll lunch, I would say go for it. If you're on the hunt for the best lobster roll and chowders around, I couldn't give it that recommendation based on my experience. read more

So glad I found this beautiful fresh seafood storefront/ outdoor restaurant on my way to Freeport. They don't sell beer so save yourself a ton and pick up a 6 pack and relax with a delicious lobster roll or steamer clams. The store was so beautiful and so well put together. The owner is fantastic and showed me exactly how to eat the steamers and they are delicious! Will definitely hit this place up every year I come to town! read more

We stopped to get a couple of their world-famous Lobster Rolls. They were great!! Worth the drive from Florida. The last time I was in Maine, I paid $44.00 per roll at another place. These were a great value here at $34.00 per. I also tried "Maine Root" Root Beer. Excellent choices. The proprietor, Rodney, was very nice and helpful. There are tables outside with umbrellas. The lobster roll with butter from Mainely Seafood Company was absolutely incredible. The lobster was fresh, sweet, and packed generously into the roll, and the warm butter brought out all the flavor perfectly without overpowering it. The roll itself was soft, buttery, and toasted just right. You can really taste the quality and freshness in every bite. Easily one of the best lobster rolls I've had -- highly recommend. Not inedible but not very good, i.e. tourist trap. Cold lobster consisting of a lot of claw and knuckle meat, well under the promised 6oz on the $48 lobster roll. So first, at this price I want a whole lobster which means the tail should be in there. All of it. Second, drawn butter means Connecticut style, which means the lobster is warm/hot. Not cold with a solo cup of clarified butter. The bun also should not look like you twisted it after toasting it and should likewise be hot (it was toasted and cold. Also, seasoning is your friend. Making a great lobster roll takes a few minutes of effort. For $48 they apparently couldn't be bothered. Your eating in what is essentially a parking lot with picnic tables, so ambiance is what it is. Caveat emptor. read more

While in town we decided to try this place for a lobster roll to go. There were 3 sizes, 4 oz, 6oz, and 8oz. We decided to get the 6 oz to split. The price was $48. I have never been so disappointed with a lobster roll. 4 smallish claws and pieces of meat. Taste was nothing special. Prices of lobster rolls in Maine and Cape Cod are ridiculous. Considering I can go to my local Hannaford and buy a steamed lobster for $8.99-$12.99 a pound and make 2 huge lobster rolls, this place was a total rip-off. We won't be buying any lobster rolls at the going rates in Maine or the Cape anytime soon. Someone please explain to me why the pricing is out of control. read more

I stopped here for a lobster roll after leaving the Portland Airport. It was pricey at $30 but it was excellent . I also ordered a half dozen oysters which I had to shuck myself since this is technically not a restaurant but a seafood market. The oysters were briney and delicious. They have an outdoor Dining area where you can shuck and eat your bounty. The owner and staff were very accommodating and had a great sense of humor, which means they tolerated mine. I saw a beautiful piece of swordfish but passed on buying it. I wish I would have bought a couple of dozen oysters... I highly recommend this seafood company. Yelp says my review is shorter than most but, this is a small place. read more

We stumbled upon this place while we were driving around and i have to say it is a pretty nice spot. Most people coming in were picking up food to - go so there aren't any tables inside - it is really a good spot to get your fresh catch and cook at home. We visited in the summer so they had seating outside under some umbrellas but we were in the parking lot so not very fancy but it did the job. We got the lobster rolls which came with a bag of chips and cole slaw - it was on the pricey side but online with the cost of lobster when we visited. The only downside is that you have to use the bathroom in the laundromat which is next door and I found bizarre but surprisingly well maintained and super clean! Overall, a good spot to stop at if your hankering for a lobster roll on the go. read more

We stopped by for a quick lunch at the end of our week long Maine adventure, and their food was by far our favorite stop from the entire week. Warm lobster rolls, haddock chowder, seafood chowder and warm crab rolls (we convinced them to make it warm with butter - called it the "Hayden") were all delicious and the seafood practically melted in your mouth with each bite. Service was excellent - they brought out food outside to us (only sitting area available) and even offered to change up their menu for us a bit. Very laid back, casual and friendly ambiance. This place is a MUST VISIT! Unassuming in a small corner location just off of Main St in Freeport, it's a delightful place to get lunch, an early dinner, or grab something delicious to-go. It's also walking distance from the gigantic L.L.Bean complex where you've worked up an appetite doing all that shopping. ;) Rodney took wonderful care of us and was so generous and kind. He recommended the Crabster Roll and, whoa man, it did not disappoint! This was hands-down THE BEST lobster roll I have had from a restaurant anywhere--and I've been doing the legwork up and down the coast to make this claim! The Crabster, as you might imagine, is half crab and half lobster either side by side or mixed on a roll. As you can see by the photo, I was so busy salivating and devouring this deliciousness that I almost forgot to snap a pic and managed to come up for air just long enough to memorialize the last bites of this amazing meal. At $25ish I was a bit taken aback initially, only to find later lobster rolls can easily be $35 depending on where you are, and definitely not as good. I also got some smoked fish, smoked salmon dip, seafood chowder (OMG yes, get this too!) and lobster bisque to go and enjoyed over the next couple of days. All were made in-house and were absolutely fabulous--I would visit again! In fact, I looked forward to returning here on my way back down the coast after visiting Acadia to indulge once more but was deterred by the horrific mass shooting in Lewiston that caused a shutdown of local regions in the terrifying days that followed. So, until next time... PRO TIP: Plan for lunch or afternoon snack as they close at 6, and definitely don't sleep on the to-go items as you'll be craving more later. There is no inside seating if you plan to eat there but the parking lot patio is cute in ambient weather. (We took ours to go and ate in the RV.) If you are local or just adventurous and staying in an AirBnB with a kitchen, they have live seafood for sale too! read more
