Decided to try this recommended joint, while on a business trip. It's a Take-out joint in the Winter. Located in Auburn, Central Maine. Pleasant and attentive servers ( Staff). Fresh seafood all around. Tried their Lobster salad roll. I am used to the ones in Rhode Island, Massachusetts. Larochelle's was very good. Meaty lobster salad on a bun. Served with some cole slaw. Definitely a great seafood place to get what you need. I ordered 5 lobsters for a family breakfast that my aunt was making. Ordering was quick and easy. I spoke with the lady and told her what I needed. I asked about sizing, because it was listed as small, chicks, medium. But I didn't know like 1 1/4 pound. So she explained to me each one. I got the medium, and I got 5 of them. Worked out really well. I didn't take any pictures inside the store. I had taken pictures about 2 years ago. First time visiting since new ownership. Placed an order, went to pick up my order and it wasn't ready yet. I was told to wait 10 minutes and they would have it ready. I went back 15 minutes later it was still not even started. Customer that order for a time after mine got his order already. Totally disorganized place, not the same place I used to love. You just cannot do better than LaRochelle's Seafood! Everything is always fresh, delicious and the place is always super clean. I got lobster meat and clams for the 4th and cannot wait to eat! Everyone is always so cheerful and helpful, so it makes it a pleasure to go there. They bend over backwards to make sure you're happy and get what you want. So I was visiting the area and wanted a lobster roll & I went to the Yelp app for help locating one. Well heck the newest review of this place was 2 years old so I was going on a whim that it would be decent. I walked in and to my surprise there wasn't anywhere to sit down to eat. The place had a horrid smell so I was expecting it to be the real deal & I was actually pretty excited for third lobster roll. I make my order and get a bag of chips & a coke and eat outside next to the street on the hood of my truck. Ok so the lobster was ok I guess but nothing that made me think dam that's awesome. Every tine I'm in Me it's a must to get a lobster roll but this place let me down & I don't really know where it went wrong. The roll was a little chewy for one and there wasn't any butter & that could've made it much better IMO. read more

I will never recommend this place to anyone. I ordered 100 lobsters for my wedding and my order was cancelled a week before my event leaving me stressed and struggling to figure what to do. This is always are go to place for Lobster. In my opinion it's the very best place in the area and it's always a pleasure to do business with them. Their lobster is always very fresh and the staff is friendly. If you want your lobsters cooked they have you covered. Clear meat lobster is outstanding. Price is always good. read more

I place an ordered by phone the morning we we're leaving to go back home to NY. We picked up the order thinking it was everything we ordered, until we got home & instead of a quart of Lobster stew, they gave me pint in a quart container. I was really upset & not one to complain, because we live over 300miles away. But did not appreciate being screwed over like that!! I felt liked I was taken advantage of, first for being an older woman & second for not checking the order before paying. If we are ever in Auburn, ME we will not be giving this establishment our business!! Highly upset in NYC!! read more

First - this is a seafood market (not a sit down place) that also sells take out cooked dinners or will steam your lobster for you . I know it takes the fun out of plopping a live and kicking lobster into a pot of boiling water but at no extra charge - why wouldn't you? Prices are really competitive. I like to stop in and pick up a cooked lobster (call 45 minutes ahead), a nice piece of haddock, a little bit of shrimp or scallops and take it home for some homemade seafood chowder - a fresh seafood meal for a family four for under $20. Help behind the counter is really friendly. Fried clams are awesome. The "fresh haddock" lives up to it's name - tastes like it was swimming in Casco Bay that morning. read more

I can't thank the woman who was working the counter a few weeks back enough for the amount of effort she put in to completing my extremely large order of lobster rolls and crab rolls. She was friendly, kind and everyone absolutely loved their food. The rolls are huge for the price! They have a small menu of other seafood (mostly fried) but everything is made right there and they also have a fridge filled with homemade soups and chowders. I have had a lobster bake meal from Larochelle's before, and the food was delicious. I went there recently while on a visit home from Boston and got cooked soft shell lobster bakes and some bacon-wrapped scallops for our dinner. The customer service was excellent and the food was fantastic yet again. The price was amazing ($14) for a cooked lobster dinner which included potatoes, corn and steamers. It was definitely enough food to fill each of us up. You can only order take out, and while the transparency of the operation is pretty neat (they cook everything right next to the building outside), the building is somewhat run down and not very attractive. It's possible that allows for the low prices but I think they could benefit from nicer amenities. read more

They don't sell crabs, but they said they can make special orders for that. They don't have a dining room. It's a tiny place. However, lobster rolls were meaty, fried scallops were fine too. Better than many. Friendly people. Would like to try their steamed stuff. read more

I love buying their lobster Salad. It's $24 a lbs for 1lbs of lobster salad. The value is excellent and I have yet to find it's equal in value anywhere I have gone. read more
