This is an update to my review in January 2026. I said then that I wouldn't go into details about why I left such a negative review after doing business with Maizie for probably about two decades (both consigning and shopping) but since changed my mind. I had brought in some items to consign. Among them was a pocketbook, never used in perfect condition; it was not a top end designer bag but was a very good name brand selling for about $400. I felt that Karen priced it way too low for what I paid for it. I ended up deciding to leave it anyway since store policy is not to mark down again for five weeks if it doesn't sell, which Karen even reminded me of verbally. I called back in EXACTLY five weeks to the day and guess what?? It had already sold days before, and Karen had marked it down even further!! A direct violation of store policy that she promises to her consignors and also a direct violation of what she told me when I was on the fence about leaving it; in other words, a direct LIE. I ended up getting a 'pittance' of what I paid for it. It's very sad that a business owner would choose to pull a stunt like that; lying to a customer, but also violating store policy is, in essence, lying to all her customers. read more

This Consignment Shop has some great items and although its Small, eveything is well organized. I have both Bought and Sold from here and did well. Karen, Owner, is very stringent upon taking in clothes, which some shops overlook. It is Hit or Mix, Clean, Several try on rooms, public bathroom and Parking right in Front in a Circle with a few spaces. A Grooming Dog Business is above Maize so you may hear some barking. Oh no you didn't! Nasty woman verbally attacked my wife the minute she walked in. She just stopped in to inquire about the stores policies. This "woman" immediately asked if she had an appointment, and they weren't interested in doing business. Are you serious?? I guess she wasn't interested in the bag of Tory Burch, Badgley Mischa, Ferragamo and Cole Haan shoes she was carrying. All worn once and in pristine condition. I wouldn't buy, sell or even consider doing business with this nasty lady. In my opinion only a matter of time till they close down because of the oblivious lack of client service. been consigning with maizie for over 10 years...the owner is very nice but the employees she hires have a "superior" attitude and will NOT accomodate you AT ALL. I would only bring in my items when the owner, is there. She is fair and doesn't make you feel like you are less than important. I have consigned at Mazie several times. If nothing else, consigning here will cure your shopping addiction when you see how little you get for your goods. I've consigned brand new clothes and shoes, never worn with tags, in the box, and have never gotten back more than 15% of my purchase price. On average it's less than 8%. The worst I got was 2% on a $200 designer item (that's $4.00), which killed consigning at this store for me. The shops polices work against the consignor. The pricing structure includes dramatic mark downs every three weeks (the date and new price are printed on the label). This tactic is too aggressive as the "regulars" are bargain hunters; they keep their eye on an item and wait for the price to drop. Mazie also charges an annual fee for the privileged of consigning with them. They charge a check and stamp fee, and will only send your money if you have over $34.00 due, otherwise you have go to pick up your money in person (I imagine this "forgotten" money is a very lucrative revenue source). If you decide to consign with Mazie, ask about the seasonal calendar. If you bring items in that are off season or too far into the current season, they won't take the goods. Likewise, if you go in at the beginning of the season they may take everything just to have stock, but your goods will sell for less because it's too early in the season and the markdown structure. Think carefully about picking up your unsold goods. I personally wouldn't bring anything back in my house that's been in that store, so once it's gone, it's gone. My overall recommendation is that if you have some okay clothes that you would otherwise toss out, give Mazie a try. However, if you itemize your taxes, you might be better off donating the item and taking the deduction. On the plus side, the owner is very pleasant. read more

I've been visiting here every other month or so now and I can always find something interesting, in great condition, and at a good price. My teenage daughter is also able to find things that work for her, too. Their inventory seems to turn over pretty quickly, compared to other consignment shops I've been to. Tucked away behind a jewelry store and next door to a really good chicken wing restaurant, this consignment store is small, tidy and has helpful workers. Scarsdale is pretty chi chi, however, the clothing selection here the day I visited seemed to be more of the Ann Taylor and Chicos variety vs. high end. The accessories however, had a bunch of hidden gems like the mint condition Hobo bag that and a near mint condition Gucci bag that my friend and I scored. Lots of authentic Louis Vuitton, Coach, and the occasional boutique designer like Anya Hindmarch as well. I have a feeling that if I came here regularly, I'd be more likely to score high end designer apparel deals than I did today due to the infrequent schedule that the proprietress takes in potential stock items. read more

Have been going to Maizie for years and am rarely disappointed in their selection of clothing and accessories. It's not a fancy place, but they make up for it with lots of cool handbags and clothing, and on my last visit I scored a beautiful Armani suit. I don't get there often enough, but whenever I'm in Westchester I make it a point to stop in and always find something special to take home. Pretty much love this store and check in every week or two. I've gotten some beautiful pieces over the years and what I like about consignment is that you might buy and wear something out of your comfort zone when you're not paying full price. The merchandise is beautifully organized by size and color, clean and always in very good shape. Sometimes a lower-end piece will be priced a bit high, in my opinion, but if no one buys it (for this reason or others) it will be there marked down the next time you visit. We love this store! My daughter's and I have been shopping here since they were small. They are now 17 and 19 and even have their own accounts which is great for when people want to get them gift certificates from here. My older daughter's away at college and Maizie's is a "must do" when she comes home on break. Karen, the owner, and her staff are friendly and helpful and it's nice that they know their customers by name as well as their interests. Items are great ranging from Ann Taylor to Coach to Gucci to Chanel and are a hit or miss because things come in and can quickly be sold. A good reason for us to stop in often and check and seem to always find something good. Have recommended to many people. read more
