Updating my review a little bit after returning several months later. The prices on a lot of the clothing seem to have come down a bit. It's a step in the right direction! I appreciate that they have color tag sales but the colors are confusing. Yellow looks just like orange, for example. The store itself could use some improvements. It's typically pretty dirty and they racks of clothes just pushed into random spots around the store so it's very cluttered and difficult to navigate. There's also very little rhyme or reason to how most of the Knick-knacks and books are organized. It's just kids books and adult books, not separated by genre or even fiction vs. nonfiction. The service is always pretty good. The people are friendly and say hello and goodbye. It's still not anywhere close to the best thrift store in the area but they have improved a little bit. I do think it's terrible how much prices have gone up in the last several years. The point of thrift stores is for low-income people to have the chance to buy good quality things secondhand for an affordable price. A lot of these places are forgetting that. read more

Stop putting staples in your clothing. They use staples to attached price tags. It often ruins clothing. It's ruined several things I've purchased there. Otherwise pretty good thrift store. Decent selection and prices. Stop using staples. read more

wouldn't sell my 3 year old a toy he wanted because the bag it came in was opened and the cashier apparently doesn't have authority to sell it. so they told him no and that it would be re-priced tomorrow. I don't get it... we were willing to buy the crap and we're told no. I won't be back. If you can't trust your cashiers to make a price/sell then it's your loss. They act like they'll lose their a$$ on these donated items lol read more

Prices are not always clearly marked. Something looked like it was $4.99 but it turned out to be a poorly written $9.99. I saw it listed on the pay device but wasn't sure I was reading it correctly. So I asked the cashier if she just rung up something at $9.99 because we hadn't gotten anything at that price. The cashier mumbled something ...it sounded like she was indicating that the device couldn't be trusted and that it involved the previous customer so I didn't think much of it until we got home later and saw the receipt had it at $9.99. My wife later told me that in general this lady with shorter hair is typically short/rude. When we went back, the manager made excuses about being busy when they were marking prices (to explain why it looked like a 4), and didn't offer us the option of returning it. Very nice outfits are damaged by their process of stapling a price tag to the clothes and they often do so in a very prominent place where the holes remain after you remove the tag read more

I love this thrift store, it's my favorite! We went today and had a great experience. It's always clean & organized, the music isn't too loud, the prices are better than other thrift stores, and the staff is always friendly. I think the lady that helped me today is named Tina! I have been a loyal customer at this location, and spent thousands of dollars here. The treatment I received the last time I was shopping was absolutely disgusting. The "store manager" Rhonda I think, accused me loudly of stealing and said there's no way I could pay for what was in my cart! Not only did she discriminate, she embarrassed all of her workers by being so loud and rude. As I checked out and swiped my card for $200 +, I let her know corporate would be hearing from me. HEY RHONDA, Brenda, Karen, whatever your name was...NOT ALL SINGLE MOMS ARE POOR! NOT ALL PEOPLE WHO SHOP AT THRIFT STORES ARE POOR OR STEAL! I'm a successful small business owner (x2) and happen to be a single mom to a toddler. (Widowed at 30) . Moral of the story: Don't judge a book by its cover Rhonda. Hope your $15 an hour job was worth it. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this thrift store tucked away in a nondescript strip of shops off Main Street in Grandview. Very easy to get to off 71 Highway. The store is chock full of goods and it is so well organized! If you are into Lularoe, they have a whole rack of it. The clothes are organized by size and color so it makes it easier to find if you are looking for something specific. The staff seemed very friendly. The only thing I didn't like is the dressing rooms are very small, with only two hooks and no chair or bench to put your personal items on. Otherwise, this place is great! read more

I've shopped at this location for years. Consider myself a loyal customer that has spent thousands of dollars at this location. There have been astronomical price increase but I've still supported! Today is my last time shopping at this location. I had a coupon for half off (because I come in multiple times a month) & decided to use it! I've never had a problem with managers taking half off my highest price item but today there was an issue. The manager took half off the cheapest item in my cart & when I inquired about it her response is "It's at the store's discretion". That seems unfair when a customer can possibly save a little bit more money to spend the next time they come. I would have loved to continue supporting this establishment but $5 is worth more than a loyal customer I guess. read more

Went there today and found out the donated items are priced high end to start which, is really over priced to begin with. Then they mark them down to half price which, is still over priced and they throw everything in the trash instead of marking to sale. This is completely wrong. Why would we take the time to donate for you to throw in dumpster. Writing this off on your taxes as a loss? Boycott this store. Bad business. ​ read more

I rarely give a 5-star review, but I feel this one is warranted. While it does not directly relate to their store, it does reflect the character of two of their employees, both of whom are named John. Last week, I came home to my mailbox laying flat on the driveway. It was quite clear it had been hit, as the supporting post was severed at the base. A note was discovered on our door and it was from one of the drivers who hit the mailbox by accident. The note had his name, the name of his supervisor and the details of the accident. I later called him and he expressed a need to "make it right" to fix the mailbox. Both of them came by the house today and they restored the mailbox to its original condition. In fact, it's actually more stable, as they laid it in cement, something that was lacking the first round. When they left, it reminded me that there are honest people out there in the world and their effort to "make it right" was a testament to their character and commitment. Given all that, I highly recommend this organization. read more

This store is ok in that it's reasonably clean, prices can be a tad high and quality of merchandise is within a range of poor to great. The atmosphere is pleasant enough, with music playing in the background. However, the employees can be a bit snotty and rude. I have observed that there are some of the women working there seem to be afflicted with the notion that they are working in a top of the echelon establishment. They treat their employees who work behind the scene horribly..as if they are beneath them. For this reason I have put this location on my "never shop there again" list and would not recommend that anyone I know shop there. Someone need to remind the staff that they are a second hand store..not Sak's..Halls or likewise high status store. You look ridiculous with this attitude. read more

This store really doesn't look like much from the outside. I passed it many times and never would have thought to check it out had my friend and co-worker not recommended it to me to find nice and inexpensive work clothes. I was pretty skeptical that I would find anything I liked since the building looks pretty run down and is not very inviting. I'm really glad I checked it out though. I found some very nice and inexpensive tops for work here. I'm pretty picky and can sometimes spend a whole lot of time going through clothes at a thrift store and walk out with very little, so I was surprised to have found a handful of tops that I really liked. The clothing is well-organized and the prices are appropriate for a thrift store. I knocked one star off for the lack of cleanliness in the changing stalls. The changing stalls look and feel icky, but I'd happily return to Maj-R Thrift since I was so pleasantly surprised to find so many lovely pieces for work. I signed up to receive text alerts when they're having a sale and they definitely have great deals on holiday weekends- usually 50% off. read more
