Literally this thrift store will continue being most successful as long as they keep thrift store prices. It seems all of a sudden thrifting has become popular so the prices have become about the same as buying products on sale and new. That is not helpful at all. Not for thrifting. Whoever prices needs to stay off the internet and ebay. 25.00 for a coffee mug. 169.00 for a brass figurine. 5.00 for a tiny doily. 28.00 for baking dish with no lid. Shopping here is frustrating. I am not a huge thrifter, but this is by far the best thrift store I have ever been to. The store was so clean and organized. I felt like everything had a place. I saw a ton of different things and the inventory seemed higher end than other thrift stores. I originally came here for DVDs and they were priced great at $1 each. This place used to be our go to thrift store. Amazing selection, well organized, friendly staff. They used to have great prices. We went today to grab a dresser for our son's room . There wasn't a single option under $125. This place seems to think they can be greedy now that the economy is driving more ppl their way. I think the store is beautifully decorated and the staff are extremely nice. However, the prices are absolutely outrageous. I would not consider this a thrift store. With the prices this should be considered an antique mall. I stopped into this thrift store yesterday, and I was generally quite pleased. It appears that this thrift store is run and mostly staffed by older adults. They were all friendly and they do their job conscientiously and organize extremely well at this thrift store. I was delighted that the books were in alphabetical order as I've never seen that before at a thrift store! They also have toys, neatly organized, and enclosed in wrapping so that small pieces are not lost. It is a very large thrift store with more diverse items than typical thrift stores. Upon checking out I found out they have another one and the same complex right around the corner and I was given information and a coupon for that. I scored some books and, reasonable priced 18 month clothing for my grandson and some toys and a nice book bag. The only reason I rated it a four is because I believe some prices are overpriced. Some things they have very reasonable, but there are other items that I think are out of range in pricing for a thrift store. read more

Not super impressed with this place. Sure, they have tons and tons of cool stuff! Unfortunately, it's WAY overpriced! Another reviewer said it best that thrift stores that try to price comparably to eBay listings are bloated with crap that will never sell and definitely on their way out. The store is JAM-PACKED with more stuff than you can imagine and it didn't look like much of it was selling quickly. They've got small baskets in there for $8-$12 a piece, ratty jeans for $10+, half-burned candles for $5, etc. I did find a couple of good movies that were extremely reasonably priced ($1-$3 each) but that was about it. I would have loved to leave with some baskets, glass jars, and candles but I'm not willing to pay Walmart (or higher) prices for pre-owned items like that. It's worth it to stop in and check out every once in a while, but it's not and probably will never be my go-to place. read more

If there is a thrift store in the KC area that I HAVENT been to, I'd be shocked. That being said, by far THE BEST thrift store in KC is Blessings Abound for one reason alone - the ritzy and lovely people of Overland Park donate all their stuff here. There are soooo many good finds! Not only that, proceeds go to a good cause, staff are always friendly, and the prices are reasonable ($35 for a Northface coat that's in pristine condition, yes please). I highly recommend! I always find something cool, and they have a punch card system (always a plus). I've found so many valuable collectors items here, vintage toys, nice clothes (again, bougie people of OP), and nice furniture. It's fun to look even if you don't buy anything! read more

this is by far my favorite thrift shop. I adore how clean and well organized it is. why only 2 stars? I find the employees either super helpful and so nice, or snotty and stuck up, I truly hesitate to go there because of this reason. yesterday I went and I just stopped someone...do you ever get workbenches in I asked? I would rather buy from then than a big box store. The employer replied, you act like have an inventory list, nope I don't. I was simply asking if that was something that has come though. I have been to this thrift many times over the past several years. It is a gigantic store with a second store around the corner on the back side that is a "boutique". There are nice things to be found here BUT YES they are asking a primo price for this stuff. I have read through their mission statement and the beneficiaries list of Blessings Abound is impressive. I hope most of the money they make truly does go to those in need. That being said, they don't seem to give a whit about their customers. Their punch card reward program is pathetic. You get one measly punch regardless of how much you spend per visit. Other thrifts around the city have far superior reward programs for their customers. Some of the employees here are very nice and others not. That is typical. I don't like the fact that during check out the customer cannot see the prices of what is being rung up. I visited Blessings two days ago and the check out person did not give me the 75% off Christmas items that was being offered. The furniture prices are very reasonable. read more

I bought 2 framed paintings for a total of $3. not $3 each but a total of $3. there are some more expensive framed pics here too along with furniture, lights, stereo equipment, games, books, clothes. most are reasonably priced. they have a high end section too. for a thrift store this is good place. be sure to check the hours before you head out. read more

Bigger and better organized than most thrift stores. I especially like the seasonal tables at the front, even if I don't need any of it I like the atmosphere it lends. Huge furniture selection. Reasonably priced too. Lots of kitchen goods. Punch bowls galore! Everything nicely organized by shelf and in bins. I'll say this they work hard to keep this place tidy. Even a section for things like crutches and walkers and other durable medical equipment. They are lighter on the clothing stock but what they do have if often higher quality and new with tags. This place is adorable. It is more like a vintage West Bottoms style shop though. Items are higher end and displayed in a manner that you could buy the whole setup and duplicate it in your home. The store is small but easy to shop. They are definitely picky about what the accept as it shows. If you are trying to redecorate or start a new home this is the place to go. read more

If I could give this thrift store a negative one I would. For a Christian-based organization I don't know how they can morally sell their items at the prices that they have. 90% of their items are so overpriced that no one can afford them. If any low income family needed to shop there they wouldn't get much if anything at all. It was my first time and definitely my last time that I would ever visit the store. I have been donating and purchasing from Blessing Abound for years. I went to donate some items today and a gentleman who worked/volunteer there would not take it because it was not in the condition he wanted. When I asked why he said and I quote "since I said so". Now I understand if they are picking and choosing items more carefully but I don't need a rude attitude when a question is posed. While it would have been nice to know a head of time that the policy in items donated had changed I can move on from that. I can guarantee I will never be back to purchase or donate again. SO overpriced. I work at a resale store where people sell their stuff to us and I saw a vintage Coach purse here priced for $100 when we only priced it for $50 at our "higher end" store. This store is run fully on donations so it was sad to see that they priced some items for so much. They would sell a whole lot more if things were a bit cheaper. Great Thrift Store, great selection of different Household, furniture, baby, clothing, toys. It looks like the surrounding area is keeping this place busy with great donations. Plus looks like free bread on some days. Pricing was a little strange. 2 like items, one was marked 50 cents, one was $2.00. Many of the items I saw that were marked vintage, (as in old), weren't and were priced way to high for what the item was in my opinion. I guess the deal is do you want to price a beat up red bowl at $25 that sits there or $10 and get it sold! Old doesn't mean vintage or valuable. Staff was very helpful and nice, and wrapped my glassware correctly, usually it's just rolled and placed in a bag that doesn't help it not to break. Great store that is super organized with a large selection. I was in town for the weekend and decided to do some shopping. The store has a lot of nice furniture and home goods. I was surprised at the number of couches that were displayed on the main floor. There was a section for picture frames and other knickknacks and household goods. There was clothes and jewelry, but not as large of a selection as I have found at other places. The clothes were in good shape and some were of good brands. I left with a beautiful necklace at a great price. I was even surprised what the next 25% off at the register. If you're nearby, give this store a try. read more
