He responded with a quick - "we can do it - let me find a driver" Jim, the Director of Ops did the drive. He is where I say they go above and beyond... On Monday, Jim and the crew had the house emptied in no time and loaded. We did a walk through, and coordinated our schedules. He then told me his itinerary and that he would text me each night. I was leaving Tuesday Morning and we both planned on being in MA on Wednesday evening. It went seamless. I heard from Jim each night, and again Thursday morning as he was headed to the new home with my furniture and goods. Like the loading of the truck, the unloading went just as smooth. In the end, not even a glass was cracked, everything was put where I wanted it, Jim was communicating the whole time, and the final price was within the quote. We hired 3 movers for 2 hrs to load a 26 foot truck for our move from St. Paul, MN to TX. 2 men…read moreshowed up 10 minutes late and the other one showed up 10 minutes later. We attempted to communicate with them about the fragile totes, the really heavy items, and how my husband wanted it in the truck. It is important to note that our house was on a hill with a sheepish driveway. They smiled, nodded, then did what they wanted to. One man was on his phone most of the time. My husband was furious. They rolled my antique buffett down the driveway, my mcm small tables are all scratched up, and thre totes are busted. I realized after the first 35 minutes that this was not going to happen in a timely fashion so my husband and I started helping unload the house and the garage ourselves. We are in our late 50s and moved with more purpose than these 3 young men. It was the most stressful move of my life​. They were uncommicative, oviously took no care with literaĺly everything we owned, and did not bring plastic wrap for the furniture, did not bring drop clothes, and only one small dolly. I called the owner when they were there about the lack of supplies. He said they have a dolly. Wtf. This was the most horrible experience we have ever had with movers. I know that movers are expensive up there but please pay the extra money and look elsewhere. I am not trying to hurt the company but others need to be informed and aware. I wanted to leave a Google review but none available so this was the only venue I could find to review.

We hired Metcalf for our recent move including packing and unpacking. Unfortunately we wete highly…read moredisappointed. For one, they charged us $2000 more than the estimate. We were told they try and get the estimate within 10% yet this is a 30% increase. We specifically requested an in person walk through ( versus a remote walk though) so they could actually see what needed to be moved to aid them in giving us an accurate estimate . A slight adjustment is to be expected but $2000 is extreme. It is not our fault they miscalculated. We would've gone with a different mover if Metcalf quoted us as much as they are charging now. It makes it seem as if they under bid to secure the job and then charge far more afterwards. Additionally, when we walked through the house after they packed it, several drawers in the kitchen had been left unpacked and totally full. Storage in the family room built in still had items in it. Also, we have missing items including fine dining silver (a wedding gift) and jewelry among other items. Lastly, one of the movers became very argumentative with us after he ripped up the plastic floor protector and refused to put it back down even though they were still moving boxes into the house. Even the other movers were confused by this man's behavior- it was very strange and totally inappropriate. On the plus side, most of the movers were very nice and hard working. The 2 gentlemen who came to unpack were exceedingly nice, worked hard and had great attitudes. Again, the list of the items which may not be replaceable is making this move very difficult. Moving is hard enough as it is, there shouldn't be major issues like these from a company that charges thousands of dollars to supposedly make your move easier . We cannot in good faith, and would not recommend Metcalf Moving and Storage.

The tall guy was overall very abrasive from the start, while the short guy was always really friendly. One of the first things the tall guy said was that we wouldn't make the estimated time and he didn't understand how it was determined, etc... (spoiler: we made time). While moving, I heard a loud noise, like something falling down all the stairs. I asked if something broke and they said "nope, nothing broke." (See attached picture, showing broken piece off of an expensive table). When we finished moving to the new place, I tip handsomely (as I always do) and that did seem to change the tall guy's demeanor.

We have been working on our house since March 1, 2021, getting it ready to put on the market. Back…read morein April I called two cleaning services to co e out and give me estimates for cleaning after construction. The owner came out and appeared to make notes as we went thru the house and I described what exactly I wanted done. I said I was hiring a window cleaning service to clean the windows inside and out, the screens and tracks. She said no they can do that too. Her estimate was about $350 higher than the other one, but I felt she would do a better job. She said if I defrosted the freezer they would clean that too. I did and they did not. I said many times this was after construction so it would be dusty everywhere and I wanted it all cleaned top to bottom so the house would show well. I have custom. Linds on many of the windows that needed cleaning. I saw them working on them, it wasn't until after the open house when we put them down that we noticed two were broken. She denies they did it, saying she asked all the ladies who were here if they did it. Of course they said no, so she called me a liar. I saw her working on the outside or a couple windows so I assumed they were getting done too, NOT. She cleaned the living room , the bed room above it the glass sliding doors and that's it. All other windows were not touched, no tracks cleaned and no screens were cleaned. I also saw them clean the bathroom upstairs, but when I went in to put towels up and rugs down, the floor was awful! The caulking around the base of the tub was filthy. I had to get my cleaners out and clean it myself. I made sure to remind the, about any cob webs, still there after they left, also about the light covers that were full of dust from construction. Yes, yes, yes, we are getting them. I asked her when I called to arrange a date for her to come, about how long should it take? She said she was bringing a crew of about 5, so it would take about 4 hours. They rushed thru the house so fast they missed doing all these things, I wasn't watching the clock as I was busy with other things. She came to me and said they were done and getting ready to leave so could I pay them. Remember I didn't know how long they'd been here since I was busy too. I wrote her a check for the $900.00 she charged me. The house was in a lot better shape than when she came to give the estimate as things were clean as they were getting done. She didn't adjust the charge, that's okay, I agreed to it. Until after she left and I started to find everything that wasn't done. I was t upset, I was angry and getting more angry the more things I found. I didn't have time to message her at that time as a photographer was coming to take pictures, which I was very embarrassed about the windows and lights most of all. I had to get to our hotel after that, so it was the next day I messaged her. I had time to calm down, so I could be nice about it. The response I got was we tried, we TRIED, to do a good job and do a deep cleaning. They were in a hurry to go to another job shr lined up for that day so skipped everything they couldn't zip thru. I've massaged her several times about coming back to finish what they were paid to do. I was told that I should have said something at the time and why didn't I dispute the changes? That I handed her the check so they were done. I told her yes I paid her, thinking it was all done and nothing has been broken, I don't know I was supposed to follow them around like they were little kids and check their work! I thought they were professionals? Do not call or hire this service! She is very dishonest and has no integrity and does not stand behind the work she does. She does not carry insurance in case there are any damages done!! Big red flag!? I should have asked if they were bonded and insured. Let's say I'm a little wise if I decide to use a cleaning service again!! For you, learn from my mistake and don't get robbed by this woman, I use that term loosely.
