Everybody was nice, but the services weren't great. Put the callus remover on my feet before they even soaked in water and scrubbed them. It was painful. My feet still look dirty after a pedicure. Literally looks like nobody touched my feet at all. The manicure had no top coat put on and the edges are rough and I had to go home and file it. They took me in within seconds and did a phenomenal job. I can easily say this is the best gel manicure I've ever received. I didn't get anything fancy, but as I'm writing this 2.5 weeks later, I can tell they truly did a great job. I'm pretty rough with my hands, so my manicures usually start to peel or chip around the 2-week mark. This one is still fully intact--just grown out. This is our go-to spot. My daughter and I get full mani pedis a few times a year. I keep it simple usually buffing the nails only and they are gorgeously shiny. My daughter often does gel and they've done a beautiful job repairing her nails when one of them has broken. (She has naturally long nails.) Asked for gel x and was given acrylic tips and gel builder which was fine. Then was rushed through my experience and was cut in multiple places, again just was okay with it. They wiped the blood and then painted over the smeared blood. They also painted over blood where my cuticle was cut. I'm upset that I saw these details after leaving. I didn't look too hard at my nails as they rushed me for an appointment that came in towards the end of my set. The nails are chunky as they did not use the full gel x nail. read more

Wow, this place is amazing! I wanted to get my nails done like a sort of "treat yourself" before I had to go back home. So I thought what better way to do that than getting my nails done RIGHT NEXT to the beach? I didn't make an appointment, but they were so nice to make time and squeeze me in! I'm usually very indecisive about what color to pick when it comes to the nail color palettes, but Lori and Linh took the time to find the exact color I was searching for, which I'm extremely grateful for, because the salon was kind of busy at the time. Seriously, I think I looked at like 15 different colors before I chose the one perfect color. I tried the dip powder for the first time through Lori's recommendation, and I'm never going back! The color I got was OPI #91 in dip powder in the coffin shape. LET ME TELL YOU, THIS IS A COMPLETE GAME CHANGER! Linh did an amazing job, her attention to detail is second to none. Wow just left this place April 21,2023 if I didn't have to give it a star I wouldn't, they charged me 62 bucks for gel on my toes.... Not to mention $20 to add gel and a extra $5 bucks to take off gel..... I'm sad to say I will never be returning here. There was also another older client at the table next to me who kept telling people to put their masks on which pissed me off. I'll keep this short. I'm not sure how this nail "spa" (sweatshop) earned its 4 star ratings. To say I was underwhelmed is putting it nicely. To say I'm disappointed and even a bit angry having to spend my hard earned money on shoddy, subpar work AND literally have insult added to injury would be more precise. Just a heads up to the nail technicians at this salon: the world isn't that small and Vietnamese is not a dead language. Despite appearances, some of your customers actually know exactly what you say when you're speaking your language. Shame on you. I wanted something simple: acrylic overlay with gel on top. She built up so much acrylic and gel that my naturally slim nails look masculine. That's not even the worst part. We made an appointment for 3:45. We arrived at 3:30 and were told to come back at 4. So we left, and came back at 4 and still had to wait. 15 minutes later the admittedly better manicurist started working on my friends nails. I was treating her to a full set for her birthday, and the prices on the "spa's" website seemed reasonable. It took a full 45 minutes wait for someone to get started on me. She approached me cautiously, asking if I had time to wait for the technician working on my friend to finish; this should've been a red flag. Reassured by the raving yelp reviews, I told her I didn't want to keep waiting, so she started. She asked me what colour I wanted. I told her and she abruptly responded "it's empty," without offering an alternative. So I once more picked up the gel colour tray and proceeded to try to find a similar colour. She asked me three times if I wanted glued on tips. I told her "no thank you" three times and advised that I wanted them short. She decided to use the acrylic to build my nails longer. She then filed my nails at a 45 degree angle. I reminded her I wanted them short and asked her to please even out my nails... They looked messy. And hour and a half later, my nails look like shit. Why did it take her an hour and a half to do my nails, you ask? Cause she answered the phone three times and randomly pulled out her appointment book about 4 times (I'd made a game of counting.) She also got up from her station twice to talk to walk-ins, which was fun. At the end of it all, she tried to charge me $44 and my girlfriend (who got tips, and a pink and white acrylic full set) $40. Why was my shitty acrylic overlay with gel colour more expensive than her French full set manicure with tips? She said I got tips. At that point I began to wonder if I had wandered into the twilight zone. First of all my friends nails should've been $30 according to the price on their website, and mine $30 at most... Suddenly, she says "ok ok I take off $4, $40 for you and $44 for your friend." Bitch! You just switched the charge are you kidding me? Also, you're arbitrary pricing is not the same as your website.. Where are you getting these numbers from? She ended up charging me $75 (I was picking up the tab,) and I tipped the lady who worked on my friend's nails $5. As I paid her she mumbled a very derogatory swear word at me in vietnamese. Yeah, swear at me because you suck at your job and you're a cheat. This place deserves to be out of business. The best shellac mani that i've ever had done. By far. I've been twice and my shellac has lasted with zero chips or peeling for **OVER 3 weeks** Here are the reasons they are awesome: 1) They do the shellac all the way to the base of the nail. it's my pet peeve when shellac is only put 3/4 of the way down the nail, it makes it already look grown out. I had been told that unless this 3/4 trick was done the shellac would peel from the bottom but I now know that this is NOT the case if they fully remove the cuticle. 2) They do the shellac in very thin coats so it's not too thick. That's another pet peeve when it looks like you have chicklets on your nails and they look super fake. 3) They take a lot of time and care to prep the nail (I have never felt rushed) -which is why I think they last so long 4) They are very nice and don't talk too much (i'm not a fan of small talk) I've seen two different people here and the quality was great both times - I didn't get the name the first time but on the second visit it was Lori. Can not recommend them enough - I don't live super close by but I will drive here every 3 weeks to get my nails done. read more

I love getting my nails and pedis done at Majestic Nails. In fact I have never had a better place. I returned to San Diego after 25 years in NorCal. I have gotten my nails done in many different cities over time. When I came back to San Diego I tried a few spots but when I found Lori, Sandy and all the family of women here I have not gone anywhere else. They are very careful and caring and I just love how my hands and feet feel and look consistently every time. I get gel on hands and $35 pedi on feet. Super super satisfied customer. Excellent job by Lori & Cathy! Lori made a special color for my nails that was a combo of two... Very natural and beautiful! Cathy did an amazing job on my pedicure, best one I've had in awhile! I had a bit of a cough and Lori was very sweet getting me water twice. First time in.....won't be my last UPDATE*** so I think when I went to Majestic nails the 1 st time I hit the jackpot. My next two times have been horrible. I made an appointment and waited 1.5 hours! To have my gel manicure done, Lori who was so attentive the first time wandered around doing things while I sat and waited and was trapped getting my pedicure done. And she started my manicure but kept disappearing. I was in there 2.5 hours with an appointment. I guess appointments don't matter anymore. The 3 rd and last time I'll ever go was in complete last minute mode and I blame myself for thinking it would be just like the first time. I took whoever was available and the one girl who did my manicure probably thought I have no feeling in my nails as she jabbed me over and over. And I had a horrible paint job to add insult to true injury. I had one good time and two horrible after. Will not return. AND it's pretty pricey. I just recently discovered this salon after a recent luncheon in Solano Beach and can we say...NAILED it?! The facility is very clean which is always a concern for me and the staff is super friendly which is always a plus. I went in wanting my typical gel mani/pedi, but one of the ladies recommended a new thing called "next gen" and said it lasts longer than gel. WHAT....NO WAY. I am so lazy that I have the ability to wear my nails for 4+ week at a time, so the skeptic in me gave it a try and it turned out AMAZING. (see pic) In fact, I've never been more happy with my nails! The process is sooooo cool. They give you a list of colors to choice from (like gel) and instead of painting color on to your nails, they literally dip your nails into this colored powder, buff and repeat until the color is achieved! The best part is that it's better for your nails than gel too. Now the only problem is...I have to drive to Solana Beach because I can't find another salon that offers this next gen option. But so worth it!!! If you're in the area and need to be nailed...ask for Lynn, my next gen specialist! read more

I also appreciate her honesty with my nails and what she thinks will look good and what won't, lol. I've never had someone so meticulous work with my nails and I love that she files them to perfection no matter which nail shape I choose!
