My boy waiting patiently at the cafe and a great view of the river
    Pat H.

The hotel clerk recommended the cafe - it was a beautiful morning overlooking the river. I had oatmeal with fruit (raisins, bananas, and strawberries) and a bagel - my husband had the Arizona breakfast sandwich subbing the jalapeño cream cheese for regular. Good prices, great staff, and dog friendly

Food is good. We tried this restaurant for the first time. Judging by the name, we thought it would have some Asian or Hawaiian influence. However, it did not. Offerings are standard fare American dining type breakfast. While the food was good and portions were large, it is hard to justify the price and wait time when so many similar more affordable options are available. We ordered the French toast, banana French toast, chicken fried steak, and New York steak and eggs. The fresh toast was good. The syrup was very weird. It is not your standard maple syrup. The eggs were fine. The bacon was fine. The country fried steak and eggs was the best. It had a nice batter. They were generous with the gravy. The hash brown casserole was unique and very cheesy. The New York steak was fine. It was cooked to order. The potatoes were seasoned lightly. The iced latte was way too sweet and expensive for what it was. They have an inside and outside eating area. Inside had one loud section and one quiet section. The outside has a nice view of the ridge.

GREAT BLT! I was dropped off here with family during a jet boat tour excursion and decided to dine-in as it's the closest eatery inside the Island Mall to the London Bridge dock. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food at this restaurant. The crispy bacon inside my BLT was to die for and the sandwich was overall very tasty. The sweet potato fries were also yummy, but I was severely disappointed when they only placed four waffle fries on my plate. It's restaurant 101, you need to have proper portions. Our waiting service left much to be desired, our waitress didn't really check on us and seemed a little standoffish. It felt like she was looking into my soul at some points, I'm not sure what her intentions were. The younger staff were super nice and really hardworking! I need to give a major shoutout to them for taking their job seriously. I wish we could've gotten one of the younger staff members, they had great customer service from what I could tell. Overall, I really liked the tiki aesthetic and Hawaiian decor at Makai. I think I'd give it another try when I visit Havasu again, however I'd come at a different time and order something else like breakfast.

Definitely had a good view of the london bridge. We have newyork steak with eggs. It was really good. Servers are very kind. Just less one star bcos of the bird in the patio u have to watch for. But other than, will definitely come back.

The service and setting were beautiful. Croissants: do not miss. I'm vegetarian and accidentally ordered a dish with meat. Stephanie took excellent care of the problem. Amazing experience.

Nice patio overlooking the bridge...come here for lunch whenever I'm in town for work. I usually get a salad or a sandwich with the sweet potato fries. And I always get their super good Tequila Sunrise! Nice casual lunch on patio & always great service too...highly recommend when visiting Lake Havasu!

This establishment offers a nice view of the bridge with al fresco dining. Their breakfast menu is pretty standard but their food is consistently good. I don't care too much for the inside of the café so I typically go there when the weather is nice for outdoor dining. The staff is always very kind and accommodating. I recommend!

First of all let's just start out with YUM! Best veggie Benedict in town. My wife got the breakfast burrito and that thing was loaded down. Food came out in a timely manor. The view of the bridge is most definitely relaxing on a Sunday morning with the water right there. Our server was very attentive to us and checked in periodically. Plus they're dog friendly!! Some cute pups to add to the morning.

We have eaten here several times. Today we had a sweet girl for a server (receipt said Jonni). Had the salmon eggs Benedict, 2 bowls of cereal and chili verde omelet. Food was great. Happy kids. Happy Mama. Always clean.

We found a cool restaurant in Lake Havasu. Makai Cafe was authentic and charming. Optional eating inside or outside by the lake. Really good food . And that oatmeal was awesome. Super big sausage patties that tasted amazing. I could see us coming back here. Service was good.

First time here, indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking available. Right on the water at the bridge, great views from the patio. Very clean restaurant, very casual, pet friendly. Lots of dogs on the patio. Greasy burger joint bug food breakfast food! Highly recommend and will return. Very reasonable prices and large portions. Friendly service as well.

From the moment we were seated, we were ignored while every other table around us was greeted, served, checked on, and treated warmly. To make matters worse, the overall ambience felt dirty and poorly maintained, which immediately gave a bad first impression. Our server, Reena/Rina, never introduced herself and never properly attended to our table. I was left with an empty coffee cup for most of the visit. At one point, our friend had to flag her down and ask for a refill, and even then she initially ignored him. She walked around with a pot of coffee topping off every table but ours. My husband received an orange juice and water early on, but once those were gone, neither drink was ever refilled. Meanwhile, every surrounding table received attentive service--drink refills, condiments, check-ins, and everything they needed while waiting for their meals. We were there for about an hour and never received food. Not once did anyone apologize for the delay, acknowledge that we had been waiting, or offer any explanation. I listened to her laugh with other tables, calling them by name, apologizing for the wait. It was so uncomfortable. I felt extremely awkward. What made this especially upsetting was how singled out we felt. It genuinely seemed as though we were being intentionally avoided while everyone else was treated normally. I have never felt discriminated against in a restaurant until this experience. As visitors to the area, it also left us wondering whether tourists are treated differently. When we finally got up and left, the server watched us walk out the door and said nothing. This was unacceptable and deeply disappointing. No guests should be made to feel ignored, unwelcome, or targeted. A manager or owner should reach out and address how this happened, because no customer should leave feeling this way. AWFUL server!!!!!

The tone felt off right away. I noticed she was friendly with other tables and offering things like coffee, but didn't extend the same to us. Also, right at the entrance to the kitchen--where servers are constantly walking in and out--there were dirty towels on the floor, and staff were literally stepping on them while bringing food out. It didn't look clean or professional at all. (See attached photo.) After being there for over an hour, we ended up walking out. What was most surprising is that no one seemed to notice or care--it felt like a normal occurrence, which lines up with other reviews I've seen. Between the rude service and the lack of cleanliness and attention, this was a terrible experience. Never again.

Walked in (the side door onto the driveway is the main door- park in back or on the street) and got the last booth. The last table was taken a few minutes later and I saw a couple people have to wait briefly to be seated. It was clear there were many locals /regulars and we were not treated any differently as outsiders/ visitors. We felt very welcomed. Our server was great. Very attentive. She recommended the sausage and it was excellent. We both enjoyed our food. This was a great breakfast spot and we'd definitely come back here. They had plenty of staff and were doing a great job keeping everything moving smoothly.

Came here for breakfast based on the reviews, got seated quickly as it was a Thursday morning. As…read moresome reviews have said, not much to look at when you walk in but seemed clean and well maintained. I ordered the spanish omelet and Bobbie got the country scramble. I have to say I was expecting more. Let me start with the good, the hashbrowns had a good color and crunch to them but absolutely no seasoning on them, which is ok as some people don't like salt. My omelet was supposed to have chorizo, green chilis and cheese. If you dug through it you could find the chorizo but very little green chilis and the salsa over the top wasn't that good. Bobbies scramble was a biscuit with sausage patties scrambled eggs covered with country gravy. The biscuit had a good flavor and the eggs were well cooked. However the sausage patties had no flavor at all and the gravy topping it all had a bad flour flavor. When you make country gravy you have to cook the flour for a couple minutes before adding the milk and it was obvious that didn't happen here. Like I said I was expecting more.
