We visited with another family while vacationing in Arizona and had one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. We've been coming to lake havasu city for 6 years. From the moment we were seated, we were ignored while every other table around us was greeted, served, checked on, and treated warmly. To make matters worse, the overall ambience felt dirty and poorly maintained, which immediately gave a bad first impression. Our server, Reena/Rina, never introduced herself and never properly attended to our table. I was left with an empty coffee cup for most of the visit. At one point, our friend had to flag her down and ask for a refill, and even then she initially ignored him. She walked around with a pot of coffee topping off every table but ours. My husband received an orange juice and water early on, but once those were gone, neither drink was ever refilled. Meanwhile, every surrounding table received attentive service--drink refills, condiments, check-ins, and everything they needed while waiting for their meals. We were there for about an hour and never received food. Not once did anyone apologize for the delay, acknowledge that we had been waiting, or offer any explanation. I listened to her laugh with other tables, calling them by name, apologizing for the wait. It was so uncomfortable. I felt extremely awkward. What made this especially upsetting was how singled out we felt. It genuinely seemed as though we were being intentionally avoided while everyone else was treated normally. I have never felt discriminated against in a restaurant until this experience. As visitors to the area, it also left us wondering whether tourists are treated differently. When we finally got up and left, the server watched us walk out the door and said nothing. This was unacceptable and deeply disappointing. No guests should be made to feel ignored, unwelcome, or targeted. A manager or owner should reach out and address how this happened, because no customer should leave feeling this way. Really disappointing experience at Sam's Restaurant. Our server, Rena, was rude from the beginning. No introduction, no name--just walked up and said, "what are you drinking?" The tone felt off right away. I noticed she was friendly with other tables and offering things like coffee, but didn't extend the same to us. Also, right at the entrance to the kitchen--where servers are constantly walking in and out--there were dirty towels on the floor, and staff were literally stepping on them while bringing food out. It didn't look clean or professional at all. (See attached photo.) After being there for over an hour, we ended up walking out. What was most surprising is that no one seemed to notice or care--it felt like a normal occurrence, which lines up with other reviews I've seen. Between the rude service and the lack of cleanliness and attention, this was a terrible experience. Never again. read more

Breakfast was just ok today. Large group of ol' timers very loud but having a good time. French Toast Combo ($14.27) 2 toasts only 1 egg (which I hated) and small ham steak. Nothing looked or tasted appealing. Kind of sad. Had much better French toast. Chorizo w/ eggs and hashbrown. Burrito was good, surprisingly the chorizo did have a lot of grease which is huge. $9.97 Coffee tastes watered down but good at $2.89 Waitress, Angela was busy and good. read more

The hubs and I went here for breakfast on our way to Vegas. It's our second time eating here. The service was great, we were seated pretty quick by the friendly host. The restaurant is very much a diner with a casual atmosphere. It was very clear most of the customers were locals. The restrooms were clean, which is always nice. I had the lean breakfast with was a good portion of skirt steak and some cottage cheese - the steak was cooked nicely and very well seasoned, I definitely cleaned my plate. The hubs had a bacon and cheese omelette with sourdough toast and hash browns! He ate it all! We would for sure eat there again. Our server was friendly and efficient. Thanks! read more

Came for brunch and was seated promptly. Service was good and friendly. Got the cheeseburger combo with a Dr Pepper. Burger was great had good flavor, Dr Pepper was a little flat. The restaurants gives a cozy vibe but its slightly dated, the booth stall was worn and had some parts that were torn. The restrooms were clean but looked dirty from stains. The sandwich was well crafted and tasty. It was conveniently located walking distance from my hotel. Service was attentive and friendly. Food prep was quick. Don't get the chicken fried steak. There was no way it was made to order because it came out too fast and the temperature and taste reflected it. Even the gravy was sub par. Should have went to black bear. Maybe that's why there was a line there out the door and this place had plenty of room I don't know. But you guys need to do better with serving fresh made food that tastes good as well. read more

My husband and I visited Sam's Place twice in the last week. We had breakfast outside on the new patio and Taco Tuesday lunch. Both meals were very good and reasonably priced. The service was efficient though unending both times. We would certainly return based on this. However; I made my first visit to their restroom and was disgusted. The restroom had caked on dirt in the corners and wall edging. The trashcan had dirt smeared all up the sides. There was thick dust on every surface. The door handle was sticky and there was buildup behind the toilet. I was afraid to touch anything. If their restroom looks like this, what does their kitchen look like? We will never return until they clean up their act. read more

It may have been good, we'll never know. An over abundance of wait staff sat us quickly and took or drink order. A long few minutes later drinks arrived and our orders were taken. 15 minutes later we were informed that the kitchen was backed up and our orders would be a few extra minutes. 30 minutes later we'd had enough. We're in a family vacation decided to stop by and get Breakfast as a family before heading out. We drove out of our way to come here we saw the good reviews. Once in we got seated right away. Waitress came and unfortunately I did not get her name but her attitude and service were horrible. An hour in waiting we asked if our food order was even in the process, she said NO At that point we canceled the order she was not apologetic no updates in how long till food would be in. This place is always busy, not sure why. Just so so food. Our experience this time was the worst, the server was not friendly just walk up and said " Have you decided yet" no hello, no smile. The bacon avocado burger was pretty decent although the avocado had large black spots and had to ask for mayo it was on the order, but they didn't put it on and they didn't have the onion for . I ordered the Rueben absolutely disgusting. Soggy bread couldn't find the cheese. The sauerkraut was nasty. I don't know what they did to that and there was absolutely no dressing on it. The back room is loud from the old air conditioner, and there is no ambience. They seriously do not know that like confirming that the service was very good. read more

In all honesty, I really wanted this place to be great. We ordered the breakfast burrito and cinnamon roll for a Sunday breakfast. It took over 50minutes for us to get our food after ordering, and the cinnamon roll was hard as a rock. The breakfast burrito was probably a 4, but because of how terrible the cinnamon roll was and the extremely slow service, the rating unfortunately gets knocked down. read more
