I remember the course being in decent shape, and having some nice holes, but mainly it was about seeing how often I could hit into Dirty Harry before he blew me away! Fortunately, "The Man With No Name" kept his .44 Magnum in the holster and we caught up with him a few holes later while waiting for the group in front of them. We chatted for awhile (they were both REALLY down to earth and friendly) about golf and such, and they went on their way. It was just one of those, "did that just really happen" moments. Another thing I remember was watching the sunset over Molokini, it was nothing short of breathtaking and the perfect end to an awesome day.

My two children had to use the…read morebathroom so I walked to the closest opening in the sand and came across an open grassy area up top (about 40 feet wide with no people) to try and locate one. I saw a worker who was kicking back watching TV in the covered part of the area. He asked if I need help so I asked where the bathroom was. Instead of just answering my question, he proceeded to tell me (a woman with two small kids that needed to use the bathroom - if you know how that is... then you know how this felt) that this was private property, members only, and that I had to go use the portapotty... obviously this was fine, I didn't see a bathroom in this area and wasn't trying to sneak and use a pristine members only bathroom - just simply trying to find whatever beach bathroom there was. The tone in his voice telling me this is for "members only" and emphasizing over and over that we had to use the portapotty was disgusting... we were half way through the grass before he even saw us and I could see the portapotty right ahead of us when he pointed in the direction... he insisted that we could not continue walking through the completely vacant area and made us walk back the way we came and around the entire area. Mind you, walking backwards took as long as it would've had he let us walk forward, so it was simply a power play... When I said how do you know we aren't members? He started looking me up and down and said "I've never seen you." I'm black by the way... this is clearly a residential membership... assuming if I was a white woman with two kids, he may not have looked at me the way he did. What a smug - less than compassionate - disgusting worker bee... imagine explaining to my kids why they couldn't just continue walking through to the bathroom when we were already half way through and could see it in front of us... even my four year old picked up on his tone and told her dad he was "being mean to mommy" when we got back.

I have stayed in a ocean view suite and standard king rooms. They either have balconies or patios that lead out to the pool area. I prefer the balconies but it's personal preference. One thing to note, to access the pools, there are a significant amount of steps. You can take an elevator to the Bumbeye beach bar (level 2) but you will have to walk up and down to get to the lowest level pool and to the beach. If you have mobility issues, please be aware that this is the only way to access the beach. There are golf carts that the hotel has that can reach this area but double check if this is something they can do for you. this is for 07/2026 stay - I thought it was time to do another honest review since this is a good…read moreway for me to keep track of places I've been as well as sharing it with others - giving back to the community. This is my second time being there as a globalist as my first time was probably abour 7-10 years ago. honestly a minute. we were welcomed with the same lei and coconut necklace, some welcome juice non alocholic, and wash towels for cleaning the face which is all cute. they stopped giving water bracelets and its now just keys which sucks because how do we do beach activities and not worry about things like key card getting lost? they said its part of their changes. big change is their breakfast - less selection compared to before - i'd like to say they have gone downhill since last time I been around. The breakfast menu have changed in that if you want to have an omelette, there is no longer a self-help omelette station where you tell the chef what you want and they make it for you. You would now have to order it with a server, and the omelette is not included. also specialty coffee is also now not included just regular coffee, which tasted awful. Like many things about Hyatt, and this economy, this is to no surprise. if you are a globalist, they do still cover valet parking which is amazing, the pools are a bit overcrowded when we went during the summer, and the yoga mats all smell like feet, seems like they did not do much TLC in that department. The yoga instructors are all on a 1099 contract, it seems but the people and quality have decreased because of the 2 that we met; they were not friendly at all compared to the last time I was there. it just seems like a job for them. All the excursions that were included were all booked out right when we arrived, making it nearly impossible to do anything in the property. i mean it is still an amazing, relaxing experience. They couldn't really upgrade us because it was a full house already and kind of chaotic (we went during summer July time so peak season) It's still a newer hotel and had more TLC done to it than other hotels within Hawaii I'd like to say, but for the price point im a little disappointed. Also we had found hair and among other stuff in the bathroom meaning they haven't cleaned it properly upon arrival. I know they had recently changed GM and all but for the points i used to book the hotel, and the price mark during peak season I had a higher expectation no offense. the wings are all a bit confusing and they don't really have a map guide - the first day took me a while to get in the middle of the week of our stay the fire alarm went off at 3am which lasted a while, which i texted the front desk and they reassured it was false alarm, and then what was worst was 40 minutes later when we were about to sleep they said all clear like 30 minutes back-to-back, which became even more confusing and alerting - like if we were not awaken previosuly by the alarm, we are awaken now - but other than that i'd rate it a 8/10 experience given the price point, the lack of expereince we can gain from the resort. and if it isnt for globalist benefit, it would've def been lower rating. still a beautiful place don't get me wrong but just quite expensive, but i am sure if you havent been here when it was amazing, this would've been a 10/10 experience for anyone easy.

There is a free shuttle that travels a mile radius of the hotel. We used it to go to the shopping center and went to the market to get prepared foods to take to the beach. The breakfast is very nice and pretty standard self-serve. Good and plentiful. Again, the staff was helpful in getting little things for the family. For what it would cost at the Waldorf, one night there took care of three rooms at the Residence Inn. I'd definitely go back there again.

I wish I was able to go more than once! The drill was 1.5 hours long and Joseph taught it. We warmed up for the first 15-30 min and then played a bunch of mini games. There were 8 of us in the class and very different levels ranging from kids on the college tennis team to me (who picked up tennis as a hobby during the pandemic). Joseph did a great job pairing us up for the mini games so it was a challenge for all. It was a great way to work off all the lava flows from the past week and have fun doing it. It's also a beautiful setting to play some tennis! I left my racquet back home, but they do offer rentals as well. And for those not wanting to do a drill you can just reserve courts, get a ball machine and/or lessons with the pros.

I did hear that sadly there was a petition to end pickleball here because of the noise at the end of 2024. I hope it's not true and they can continue because this is a fantastic pickleball community with some really nice courts.
