I had to fly into town unexpectedly which means my usual eye lash appt had to be rescheduled. I called around 9:30a, spoke with Sharon and made an appointment for 1pm. I explained that it would be a foreign fill. I do volume lashes. She said that was fine. Until I arrived.... I guess she didn't like me questioning how exactly a 2 week volume fill was going to cost me $165 (not including tip). My problem is not with the price itself. My problem is the number of inaccuracies she continued to spew when it boiled down to, she just didn't want to do the work. Language barrier or not, I made sure to reiterate, "so to be clear, it isn't that you can't do it, it's just that you don't want too..." and she said "yeah, no, I don't want to". So there's that. Considering I drove almost an hour and had to then rush to find another lash technician, I decided to sit in the lobby & do so. I mean, it's not like she was doing anything other than sitting and pretending to flip thru the schedule book. According to Sharon, despite them using "Xtreme" lashes, they wouldn't have my curl, length, etc. Make that make sense.

I got a fabulous scalp massage and she recommended a moisture treatment and my hair is so soft now. She added some layers and my hair for the first time in forever has actual volume. I was attending an appt in the area, so I quickly googled a place, I lucked up to get a last min appt scheduled for after I am done at my Dr appt. The folks at the salon were very kind and attentive. I only had to wait for the actual services I went in for, nothing extra. I can say that I did love how my hair felt (glaze does so much) and the style it was cut into, but I didn't actually get the finished curl style as an option (that I asked for; I came there with what I wanted it to be styled like afterwards). He kinda forces you to get the style he wants you to have. I could either walk out of there with a straight blow out bumped bob or an air-dried natural curl :^/ I came there with an expectation of cost and style, and neither were met as I mentioned above with the style, as far as the costs, I didn't expect to pay as much as I did for what service I received. I've had these services done many times in many upscale salons/boutiques and it's never went over $200 (w/out tip). I will take the fall for the cost though as I didn't ask for the prices upfront during my scheduling, because I was excited to just get a last min. appt (due to them having so many cancellations), I was happy to just get seen. These were the only real complaints I had out of this experience. I will say that even though I don't feel I got what I paid for, I did like the services and ultimately the blah style I had to settle with, I didn't mind it as much. It is not worth the $$$ they charged me (I should've gotten an itemized bill to see exactly what they charge for services as it's not posted anywhere online or instore). Makes me wonder if they make up prices based off of certain circumstances or something? Any who, for these few things I'd probably not go back unless I had no other options available. Samething I'd say if someone asks me would I recommend... I'd only recommend them to someone if that's the only option available at the moment in that area because they do treat you right, but you can't go there telling them how you want your hair to be done as they will do it the way they want and charge you which I don't believe is worth the prices they charge.

She and I had a trail so we could get it right on the day of my wedding. She did a wonderful job. I am 64 and it was important that she did my make up so it did not make me look older. When she was finished it looked very natural. I had her put my hair up and she put a few flowers in it and it looked elegant. It was great to meet my hair and makeup artists during my trial and work with them to talk through what I envisioned. My hair is fine so my hairstyle didn't exactly match the photo inspirations, but my artist did a style that was in the same realm. For my makeup, I said I wanted to look like myself but elevated, and she hit the nail on the head. On wedding day, they delivered. They worked with our tight and early timeline with a lot of women (10 total) having their hair and makeup done, and I felt beautiful on my wedding day. My only small bit of disappointment was that my hair started to fall by cocktail hour, so my bridesmaids had to spend a little bit of time re-pinning and hairspraying to get it back in place, which took a little bit of time away from enjoying the reception. But overall, I definitely recommend Updos for I Dos for your special events.

The picture I showed versus what I got looked nothing alike. My appointment was at 3:30, and I didn't leave until almost 7:00 because they overbook clients and leave people waiting. At one point, a shampoo assistant was the one doing my hair, and she blow-dried it horribly flat because the stylist I booked with literally left my chair mid-appointment to go work on someone else. This was unprofessional, careless, and a complete waste of time and money. I would never recommend this salon to anyone. Go somewhere else.
