She brings with her a great deal of expertise and is able to do fantastic and natural looking hair and make-up. More importantly though, she brings a calm, relaxed, incredibly positive competence that makes brides feel at ease. Elizabeth did my hair for my wedding day, as well as the hair of 5 of my bridesmaids and my mother. Let me start by saying that Elizabeth has this amazingly calming energy that is very healthy to be around on your wedding day! She makes you feel like everything is under control and will go great - and it did! Down to the details - Elizabeth arrived promptly in the morning and kept to the schedule that we agreed on. She did an amazing job on my hair that got me many compliments. I should mention that I was not able to do a trial with Elizabeth before my wedding due to scheduling, but all went well. After the first styling she tried on me, I gave some feedback and she was very welcoming of it and happily made the requested changes. After my hair was completed, she even came through later in the day when I had a dress malfunction and she offered me some double-sided fashion tape! Let me start by saying this: My high expectation Asian Dad approved. He even told my sister that he liked my makeup much more than hers when she got married 11 years ago. I worked with Elizabeth for my (bridal) hair and make-up and for the hair and make-up of my bridesmaids, mother of the bride, and mother of the groom. Weeks before the day of the wedding, Elizabeth recommended a trial session for me to see if I liked her style and for her to get a sense of what look I was going for and how different shades of make-up worked with my skin tone. It was very worthwhile in my opinion and helped me to get a sense of what to expect. I loved how the hairstyle turned out and was excited to see how airbrush felt and held up throughout the day. Elizabeth listened really well to what I described and was fun to be around. I knew right away that I wanted her to be my make-up artist for the big day! The week of, Elizabeth worked with us to get a schedule for when to have the girls arrive, what to bring, etc. so that everything ran smoothly. The day of, she showed up with her team right on time and with a lot of positive energy. They were very professional and brought all of the supplies right to our hotel room where the bridal party got ready. They were also very fun and very happy - it helped ease the stress of the day and provided an opportunity to relax knowing I was in good hands. This is a long lead up to the stunning work Elizabeth did! For my hairstyle, I went with a low semi-messy bun with side swept bangs. The detail she put into it made it look like a bouquet and it held up wonderfully throughout the day. I also wanted to accent my eyes and she went above and beyond my expectations. The lashes were beautiful and the highlighted shades of eye shadow made the effect stunning. The rest of the make-up just complemented perfectly so that it still felt natural and beautiful. I could not have been happier with the end result.The same can be said for the work of the bridesmaids, mother of the bride, and mother of the groom. Everyone loved their personal hair and make-up styles and was very, very happy with the Elizabeth and her wonderful team. My friend was having Elizabeth do her makeup for a business video, and I tagged along, and got my makeup done too (since it was my birthday). What a treat! Liz made me look great--like myself but way better. She was (as others have said) super relaxed and personable. But she's also incredibly knowledgeable about makeup--about which products are best for your skin, about how to make you look like you're glowing from within (isn't that what we all want) and how to use makeup for different purposes (stage, film, a social event, business). Too many makeup artists are one trick ponies, who only do the kind of makeup they themselves wear--not Liz. She really listens to her clients and helps them achieve their goals. I absolutely loved having Elizabeth Fox do my hair and makeup for my wedding, and can't recommend her enough! Having Elizabeth do my hair and makeup was one of the best decisions I made for myself. She took time and care from even before the wedding. She gave me tips in advance on how to best take care of my skin and hair before the wedding day, and also advised me on who I might have in the room while getting ready, and how to best take care of myself. She helped create an atmosphere of calm on my wedding day and she was so at ease that it helped me feel relaxed. When there was a problem at the hotel with room where I was supposed to get ready, Elizabeth changed rooms with me, helped me navigate the problem, and took it all in stride. Elizabeth is an incredibly experienced and talented makeup artist, and it showed. While Elizabeth listened to what I wanted, she also gave me ideas and helped me figure out what would look best. We met before hand for a trial so that the day of I could just relax. In the end, my hair and makeup were gorgeous. My makeup looked natural yet special in just the way I had hoped, and my hair was beautiful and stayed throughout the night. Her work far surpassed my expectations. Depending on how the bride wants to look, Elizabeth can surely make it happen. Not only does she make you look and feel amazing, but Elizabeth is a great person to spend time with, the kind of person you want to have with you on your wedding day. I definitely recommend Elizabeth if you need someone for hair and make-up. She is so skilled, so creative, and really fun to work with. She's perfect if you (like me) are not entirely sure of what you want, and she's willing to try out different things. A few days before my wedding I (of course) got one of those lovely stress-related blisters on my nose, and she covered it up perfectly- you can't see it in any of the photos. I was really happy with my hair and make-up on the day of the event, and it lasted all through the night. She even covered up my tattoo :) Elizabeth is really easy to work with, and she will make you feel totally comfortable on your wedding day! We had a good time just chatting away, and having that relaxing two hours with her right before the craziness of the wedding was perfect. I very much enjoyed the experience, and appreciated everything she did! From the trial through the day-of, she was organized, professional, dependable, prompt, friendly, super fun, and considerate! Hair and makeup things generally give me anxiety, but Elizabeth was so calm and patient, it put me right at ease. She worked flexibly with what made me comfortable, and didn't make me feel like an idiot for not knowing ANYTHING about hair and makeup. Elizabeth did the hair for my friend's wedding: up does for one bride, one mother of the bride, and 5 ladies. Not only did our hair look great, it also stayed looking great all night long (and some crazy dancing was happening to test the does); my hair also wasn't traumatized the next morning. Elizabeth was a calming and grounding presence in the small hotel room we were all getting ready in. She looked at the hair do ideas we found online and was able to create what we were all looking for. All the girls' hair were different but they all related to one another really well. She worked with each girl to make sure they got the do they were looking for and she shared her own experienced visions so we could all look the most awesome! The bride was in a very delicate dress that looked almost old fashion. Elizabeth created a hairdo that was absolutely perfect for the dress and bride. We felt like she had been friends with all us ladies for a long time, but she was perfectly professional as well. She was flexible with some minor last minute changes, she was understanding, and best of all, she really listened. We were all sooooo happy that we found Elizabeth and we would all HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for some beautification.
