Paid $320 for a bridesmaid makeup service. I did not get the main lady, but the assistant. It was the worst makeup look and experience. My eyebrows were uneven and looked completely different, and my eye liner was not completely filled in! You could see my skin in the middle of the eyeliner. They seemed to rush through the entire thing, not making sure everything was good before moving on. She was very rough on the face, looked at my inspiration pictures for 5 seconds, and I had to fix it all afterwords. I'm glad I brought my own makeup for touch ups. I had an amazing experience with Tam, and she did an amazing job! I contacted her a few weeks before my dam hoi (engagement tea ceremony) and she was able to book me right away. I don't know anything about doing my own makeup or hair and she made the whole process fairly seamless! After the deposit for appointment, she asked me what type of hair and makeup I wanted. I am very clueless about hair and makeup, but her instagram had plenty of beautiful examples to chose from! We set up a three hr appt and she finished an hour early, and let me stay with her in the studio away from the cold while my friend came to get me. We did a low bun to go with my headpiece, and she secured it well with a few pins that she told me how to remove, as I told her I would have an outfit change. She was very helpful with tips to make the process go well, like to moisturize well before the appointment, when to reapply lipstick before photos, to try and use contacts instead of glasses, etc. The makeup came with airbrush foundation, which was very comfortable and lightweight. The eye and face makeup was beautifully done and I got compliments on it all day. The eye lashes really made a big difference and Tam was super diligent about making sure that they were comfortable for me and regluing them as they tried to keep coming up (they did end up lifting, but you can't really tell). I experienced no creasing or excessive fading or breakdown throughout the day, as she set the makeup well. She also provided a small bit of lipstick for me to reapply as needed! I had done a hair and makeup trial with her a few months prior, and to be perfectly honest, I wasn't too happy with the results. I felt like my curls were too loose, my blush and contour seemed too light, my foundation was a bit too dark, and my skin got really oily by the end of the night. Dantam is a wonderful makeup artist and hair stylist. Well, i was going to do my own make up and didn't think I would need a make up artist for my pageant farewell walk. But as the day got closer, I had so many things on my plate that I just wanted to sit in a chair and have someone else do my make up for me. I'm so glad I chose her! Not only did she arrived on time, 8am on pageant day, she also showed me how to touch up my powder and gave me extra lipstick to fix up later in the day. I did two trials because I was unsure of what I wanted and she was very patient. My hair and makeup lasted night and did not budge. She was very honest and upfront about pricing and helped properly set expectation. There were some photos on saw on Pinterest that I thought were more "natural" and she explained to me that that model actually had a lot of make up on. I was fortunate enough to be able to work with Dantam for my wedding ceremony this year, which was postponed from 2020. She had stayed with me through the years as we faced the uncertainty and also communicated openly and honestly as we navigated the pandemic. I ended up doing a second trial earlier this year because it had been almost 3 years since I first did a trial with her and we were adding a tea ceremony to our event. She was patient in answering all my questions and also provided her expert knowledge when I couldn't decide between looks. I am so happy and thankful I had Dantam as my hair and makeup artist for my wedding! She was very responsive and wonderful to work with. My hair and makeup trial went well but I mentioned the eyelashes felt a bit heavy, and she adjusted perfectly on the wedding day so that they were much more comfortable while still looking just as beautiful. She also recommended getting my eyebrows waxed prior, which I had never done before, but I was so glad I did because with her recommendation, the experience was very positive and I was satisfied with how they turned out. Tam brought along 2 assistants, Kelly and Yvonne, to help with hair and makeup on the day of. We had 8 people total, and the 3 of them did an incredible job on everyone while staying on schedule. All of my ladies were satisfied with their hair and makeup and I truly commend all 3 artists for their amazing work! I knew I would cry and I did end up crying during the first looks with my dad and my husband, but I was pleasantly surprised and amazed that my makeup stayed perfectly fine.
