My first time in yesterday while visiting with local friends. We came here for lunch and we all enjoyed our choices SO much! Food was fresh, quickly made and the waitstaff were all so attentive and friendly. I enjoyed the vegetable Mei fun and it's one of the best I've had in ages. Vegetables were perfectly cooked. I also have a thing with plants, I didn't recognize one type on the table and asked if I could buy a cutting, the ladies so graciously allowed it so tomorrow I head back home on the ferry holding a plastic bag with plant trimmings lol I would very much stop when I'm down visiting again. I had one of the most severe reactions to their Singapore noodles (a dish I order from there all the time). I contacted my doctor's office - it was that bad. My husband was speaking and texting with an employee (because the owner didn't speak good English). I was the only one who ate the noodles. By the time I was going to bed, I was feeling a little nauseous. Three hours later I was rejecting every bite. In case you're wondering, the only other meal I had that day was avocado toast. We have patronized this restaurant since the 90's when it was Shangri-La, and the last 3/4 owners. For that loyalty - we received no apology - just excuses. We will never return. read more

If you are looking for delicious sushi that won't break the bank, look no farther. I've been to Maki-San on multiple occasions to dine in and I've ordered take/out many times. The sushi is always delectable and fresh! The prices are reasonable and when you dine in, there's is always a 50% off menu on specialty rolls. I recommend the Montgomery Roll, shrimp tempura with spicy tuna on top. I've also had their kani salad, edamame, and some traditional rolls and everything was always delicious. This location isn't necessarily close to me, but it's worth the 15-20 minute drive. The staff is always friendly and efficient. I've never had to wait for a table any of the times I dined in. I believe they also have a hibachi room, but I haven't checked that out yet. I wish I had more picture to share, but I'm usually too excited to eat, rather than waiting and taking photos! read more

Been here several times and staff is friendly. They do charge gratuity if there is more than a party of 5. We always get sushi for appetizers and hibachi for dinner. My daughter loves the performance and enjoys her shrimp lo mein. Will always pick this spot for hibachi. read more

Came here for a birthday dinner...total of 7 in out group. We enjoyed almost every dish. Tuna ball and salmon ball was very delicious. Nice filling and tasted fresh. The Isaki sashimi was unique but very delicious and extremely fresh. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy fresh sashimi. Toro & ebi shrimp. All fresh and very tasty. The white tuna was a bit off but not sure if it was me but overall good. Salmon skin hand roll and dragon roll were perfect. Everyone in my group enjoyed the cooked rolls. Hamachi Kama was very tasty....cooked yellow tail collarbone. Soft shell crab and needle noodle with beef was absolutely delicious but I was so full from all the sashimi that I couldn't fully enjoy more. We had the special lamb shank, it was unique and tasty and not too gamey (still gamey but not too gamey - our group was half and half)...if you like lamelb you should try it. The name in the front is Maki Han now but, unfortunately, the quality is still consistently poor. The egg roll was cold and had obviously been refried or had been sitting under heat lamps all day. The Mei Fun was plentiful but tasteless. Noodles and salt. Since it's nearby I try this place a couple of times a year hoping it's improved. I've thrown away enough money. Never again. read more

This place is a neighborhood staple for a to-go meal that will make everyone happy! We have tried the hibachi, Chinese, and sushi items and all have been really solid. Called Grubhub who said they wouldn't cancel because the restaurant already started and than wouldn't answer the calls. Driver cancelled and left. Received a notice that it was on its way and twenty minutes later saw an email saying it was all cancelled. Wtf. Worst service ever. read more

We recently celebrated my son's birthday with some friends and family. The staff went above and beyond to make it special for us by decorating the room. They were friendly and accommodating. We had sushi, sashimi, sashimi pizza, hibachi and much more! Not only was everything fresh and delicious, but the presentation was exceptional and the hibachi chef was entertaining. The shrimps were big and plump. Filet mignon was tender. Fried rice was on point. The restaurant was very clean which is important during these times. Placed an order at 5:30. Dinner for 4 people. They said it would be ready at 6pm. It is now after 7PM. Have been waiting at the restaurant for over an hour. They took my money when I first came in. I have been waiting more than an hour. No food. Nobody around to even ask or get my money back. UPDATE Finally got food after waiting at restaurant for more than an hour. It was cold. They did not include the rice or the pancakes for the Moo Shu or the soup we ordered. They gave us pork moo shu instead of vegetable moo shu. The list of errors goes on... When they are too busy, they should just tell people that the order will take an hour and a half. They were still taking orders and telling people it would be 25 minutes. read more

This place is my go to spot! I'm pescatarian and have a dangerous peanut allergy ( they don't cook with peanut oil), the food is thoughtfully prepared. So Groupon told me that I can go to the restaurant and just get the value I paid for it then was fine and good until we got here and the lady said no they do not accept group on any longer but she was hesitant at first but to me they should have just let us enjoy the Groupon value because it was not a soul in the building please stay would have got a profit that night.
