    Delicious clay pot tea!
    Jeremy K.

Fuki is an interesting place. I am not sure if it is because of the very weird decor that I am still not sure if I understand or not, or if it is the delicious and definitely most interesting roll I think I have ever had, but it is most likely an amalgamation of these things that stitch this little strip mall sushi and ramen spot on City Ave in Philly together into somewhere you may want to visit on your next voyage for a sushi spot that does things a little bit differently. Now don't get me wrong; it is not going to win any awards and likely will not blow you away by any means. But the food is good, the space is open, and there is plenty of seating and the food comes out quick and everyone was very nice and the hot tea was exceptionally good. My daughter and I stopped in here for dinner before heading to a Ballet X debut at the Mann Center in Fairmount park. She is never one to know what rolls she wants and always makes me decide what we are ordering to share. I know she likes crunch, so I always make sure to order one or two rolls that have somethjj in crunchy like tempura flake, and then I usually choose one very strange specialty roll off the menu of wherever we are eating. At Fuki, this manifested itself as the City Avenue Roll, an insane roll of eel, smoked salmon, Kami, and tobiko, then stuffed inside of an entire full squid. This whole squid-sushi monstrosity/masterpiece is then barbecued while over a charcoal fire, and then sliced into thin rounds, similar to larger rolls such as futomaki, resulting in a super-savory taste experience unlike anything I could say I've ever had before. One thing I do know is that while everything else we had was just okay, this food collusion was outstanding. While I would not return here just for this, it was easily the highlight of our meal and definitely worth visiting Fuki to get a taste of...at least once. Fuki is not somewhere we had planned on going and may or may not stop again. It's off of our normal paths of travel, but if I find myself nearby, the call of the City Avenue roll may just be too great and I will have to stop in for a bite. This time I may get ramen along with this roll to share as that is what the restaurant claims is their other specialty according to their name and their the menu. If you like either of these kinds of food, the prices are pretty reasonable and it's easy to get to from nearly everywhere north and west of the city, so check it out. You may just find something you've never seen before!

Went out with all the roommates for a Friday night outing and we all left satisfied with full tummies. I got the veggie teriyaki, which comes with miso soup and white rice. I thought the soup was way to salty, but my salt loving partner slurped it up no problem. Our food came out sizzling and delicious! It all tasted super fresh and yummy. I also shared a sushi role with my partner, and my only complaint is they put it on the same plate as my friend's across the table from us. So we had to find an extra unused plate to divide them on, then divide the ginger and wasabi as well. No big deal, but we would have appreciated if they separated them. The restaurant itself is cute and quiet. We aren't a rowdy group, but I still felt a bit bad since we were definitely the largest and loudest group there. No seemed to mind though, and the staff were very kind. Overall, not the best sushi/ramen place Philly, you gotta go to Chinatown for that, but I'm happy to find something we all enjoyed near our neighborhood. If you live in the area I recommend giving it a try! Portions were all a great sizes and its a great spot for a relaxed evening.

This was a nice restaurant with plenty of tables. I went on a Thursday evening, there was no waiting. Overall was okay, I'm very happy with kani salas and salmon sashimi. My black dragon roll was average. Miso soup was cold and average. Jasmine tea was really good. Price was reasonable.

Good sushi, good ramen, and good service. Wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised by how good everything tasted. We had chicken dumplings, edamame and kani salad, all very good. For the main course, we had ramen, cali roll, Boston roll, chicken tempura roll, shrimp tempura roll, and fantasy roll. All were very good, highly recommend trying this place out. Service was spot on too, friendly and never had an empty water glass.

Sake Nigiri was 10/10 and our server was so nice and hard working. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and is very clean. We also got the udon noodles and the miso ramen with chicken both were a 9/10. I am definitely coming here again.

Not impressed at all, first of all I was fighting with bugs all night flying around the entire dining room. We were moved acrossed the room but that didn't seem to help. Kind of hard to enjoy your food when you have to be on the lookout for bugs landing in your food. My first time at a Ramen spot but I wanted ramen but most were made with pork. After talking with the waitress she suggested the beef broth miso ramen. When it came out it looked so pretty and fancy, but it was the most lack luster experience no flavor profile at all. The steak was additional which she didn't fully explain. The best thing I had was the shrimp shumai. Could had done without the drizzled sauces on them already but it was ok.

Came on a Sunday evening and about half the small restaurant was filled - the space is super cute, with an inviting dark blue color scheme and cute posters and photos of inspirational quotes and dogs. We ordered the Tofu and Eggplant taco and Mushroom and Zucchini taco to start - both were delicious. The mushroom and zucchini one actually had slightly more flavor, but the sauces on both were really tasty with good contrast in flavor, and the veggies were fried just right. For mains I got the Vegan Miso ramen with egg noodles and my husbans got the Vegan Spicy Kimchi ramen with egg noodles. I LOVED my ramen - the broth was deeply savory, the corn added nice pops of sweetness, and I really enjoyed the soy patty - it was chewy and had a great bite. My husband also enjoyed his ramen and said it was one of the best in the city - the kimchi flavor was very different than any ramen I've tried before. Service is good and overall I will definitely come back to Taco & Ramen and maybe try a new item. Yum!

I got their signature Ramen dish, which had a very generous portion of pork and fresh noodles. I was not a fan of their garlic broth and the significant amount of ginger slices. Lastly, my soft-boiled egg came out hard-boiled. That was a little disappointing, but I'll write it off as a fluke moment. I don't think I will get this Yamitsuki Ramen dish again, but I look forward to trying something else on their menu during our next visit. My wife got the Tan Tan Ramen. The proportion sizes was also good and her soft-boiled egg also came out hard-boiled. She felt as though the meat was very dry, and the bamboo was tough. It goes without saying, she is not very interested in coming back again, but we will give them a second chance since they are a small business. Ambience: pretty cool. The anime-themed wallpaper and Naruto on the menu were nice. I also enjoyed the music selection. It could've been a little lower. I had a hard time getting our waitress's attention and I attributed that to the music volume.
