Considering how many businesses are failing on Long Island due to COVID, you would think serving your community would be number one priority. Clearly some of the employees have forgotten that phone sales are a massive relay.. being attentive, not having an attitude, and clearly engaging with other employees by making faces or mouthing comments or rolling eyes to hear other employees laughing in the background.. this is extremely disappointing and a very poor representation on what an MMA family should embody.

My child is new there and new to martial arts. I have read some of the other comments that criticize the techniques that some of the students may be learning and that they are moving through the belt system too fast. I will look at it from an opposite view. I too was a young martial artist. I had some instructors that actually made me scared to go to class. They were too harsh for someone my age and as a beginner. With years of martial arts under my belt, I also walked in with criticisms in my mind forgetting that I once was a child. I want to walked as a very young boy not even a teenager yet into very intimidating schools run by adults. Although the unnecessarily hard hits, bad breath yells in my face and general "cold" dispositions may have made me tougher, but did not encourage my preteen self to want to go to class. This school has employees that are warm and embracing to the youth. In addition to the martial arts they encourage character growth in young children. For me, it's important for children to learn the foundations of martial arts Young. Proper stances, proper ways to punch, proper blocks and so on. As my son gets older, I will direct them more towards a specific discipline that he can master. He currently likes attending this school and is motivated to go . When that changes, the school is going to change. I will offer a long-term review later based on his training results. For now I am comfortable with this environment for a young boy.

Chi's Martial Arts has two locations, the Deer Park one and their Lindenhurst location. They also have Krav Magna. Sifu Chi is a black belt in numerous disciplines and is also a PhD. They have an area with tables and chairs to hang out on. Theres an area with a long wall of mirrors you can do your own workout on, and obviously the cage and a big area with just punching bags. The bathrooms were super clean. They do only have 3 shower stalls, so I can't imagine how busy it is in the morning. The sauna room is really small. The front desk guy was friendly to us. I mean for what they have and the amount of classes, I say this is definitely worth it, compared to another UFC gym I've seen.

The manager, Jason Gwaltney, said he would correct it & I should have my credit in a few days. Over a week goes by, still no credit. I call my credit card company to dispute the charges. Today I got a phone call from the gym and one from corporate to let me know that I owe them $300 plus late fees. Jason was not returning my phone calls but when corporate transferred me he picked up. Instead of apologizing about not handling the situation he revoked my membership. I got confirmation of the cancelation within minutes. Too bad he couldn't handle my credit this quickly. Please google Jason Gwaltney...I would love for everyone to see his mug shot and why he was arrested.
