World Fresh Market was a grocery store I kept seeing on TikTok. Then it made it to local news. I was in the area and realized it was World Fresh Market I kept seeing on TikTok. I have been trying to figure out which grocery store had those fruit shaped cakes. I walked into World Fresh Market. The front of the produce reminded me of City Market. Beyond the produce, not a regular store. This grocery store has the prettiest cakes I've ever seen. There's flan larger than a regular cake. There's bags of iced cookies. Breads of all types. Oh, they also have tacos plus a Mexican restaurant attached. The bakery winds around to the middle of the store. Those fruit shaped cakes? Right there. So cute and looking yummy. I can't say enough about the bakery. I bought little fruit shaped watermelon fruit cakes. I also bought pistachio filled croissants. This is absolutely my favorite store. I'll be back cause I'm in this area often. But seriously, stop by the bakery and get a mousse cake if you want to be the favorite at a potluck. read more

Love the variety the store has to offer. I usually go here for ingredients not typically available at big grocery store chains. Naturally the store can be very busy at times, but the service is usually quick and the lines go through pretty fast. Who would've thought that I would find an amazing grocery store local to Overland Park? What special about this place? You gotta go visit this place to see how amazing this place is every produce grocery deli deserts fruits meats are extremely cheap and fresh. They have a Halal section for anyone who prefers that meat and their freshly cut in front of you. They have multiple types of premade, uncooked kebab meats put into skewers ready to be grilled. They have multiple different demographic compartments like Mexican Indian European Asian groceries you have so many options for fruits and vegetables that I haven't seen even in Whole Foods, extremely unique and an amazing grocery store I would say. The staff is super helpful. They're always running around trying to help the customers making sure they're doing good. The ambience is extremely busy so pick a non-weekend kind of day or the business hours kind of time to cut through some of this crowd, but ask Kerry it gets you still have amazing producing things that you can buy. World Fresh Market is so far my favorite local find in 2025. It's been a personal goal to try and shop and support local even more this year so with this grocery store being so close to our house we had to give it a go - and I have to say we've been back several times ever since. To start, they have both a taqueria and mediterranean deli inside. There's also a huge pastry case with tons of conchas and other delights. I legit cannot visit here without coming home with some conchas for the family. My second favorite thing? The homemade salsa. My god, I've come here just for the chilean salsa. I have no idea what is in it and I don't care it's so damn good. What else is there to love? Cheap prices, fresh produce, EGGS. Need I say more? Only downside is it gets packed on the weekend so try and go during the week if you can. read more

I absolutely love this store for so many reasons I can't explain. The best time to come is definitely not rush hour or on a Saturday afternoon. Everything in the store for the most part is better than most stores people will visit or come through. The prices here are definitely a big factor but the best things is the healthy options they provide. Not only can you buy from here but just like most stores you can eat in as well or take something to go but still be saving money. Hands down the best store around the KCMO area in my opinion. I liked the wonderful variety of international foods, including a great produce area with some unique offerings, entire aisles dedicated to Hispanic (aisles 1 & 2), Asian (aisle 3), Mediterranean (aisle 4) and Indian / Pakistani (aisle 5) foods. I also noticed an extensive meat and seafood area. The prices seemed reasonable, but some of the aisles seemed cramped. They also offered a taco restaurant with $1.99 tacos, a deli with $4.99 custom sandwiches and a new Jerusalem Cafe on the Go. I found the checkout process to be friendly, but somewhat slow on a rather busy day. They had one express lane open, one other lane open and no self-checkout lanes. This is 5 minutes from home. I come here for unique fresh fruits and vegetables. One that you don't find anywhere else. Love their bakery and desserts as well. Most of the staffs are foreign speaking. They may not understand if you need to ask a question. This store is always busy. Parking lot are full at most times I go. The bakery items are mouth-watering delicious. The fruits and veggie section is stacked. You can find good and good for you options from all over the world. I've been to World Fresh Market in Overland Park, Kansas multiple times and have generally enjoyed shopping here. However, my experience today around 11:50 a.m. was extremely disappointing. As I approached the area to purchase the Dubai chocolate strawberries, two employees looked directly at me and did not acknowledge me at all. No greeting, no "someone will help you," nothing despite making clear eye contact. Meanwhile, a white couple was actively being helped at the same time. Being ignored like that is not only unprofessional, it is disrespectful. All customers deserve to be acknowledged and treated with basic courtesy. This experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, which is unfortunate given that I've been a repeat customer. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses customer service expectations so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

This is such a cool place! But not your typical international grocery store - the thing that sets this one apart is the fresh food sections! There is a dessert counter that has droolworthy treats and expertly made cakes, and a falafel counter that serves those little nuggets of gold up hot and fresh! The selection is vast and maybe a little overwhelming, but that just means they probably have exactly what you're looking for. What originally brought me here was the Dubai Chocolate Bar, which they make in-house, but I discovered so much more than I had expected. The store's fresh produce section is noteworthy for both the variety they offer and its amazing quality. They have a diverse selection of products from many countries that are hard to find elsewhere. World Fresh Market also has several food options to choose from that you can enjoy in the food court, including Jerusalem Café To Go, which I was excited to see. My only complaint is that the aisles can be crowded depending on the day you visit, making navigation difficult. My wife and I went here on a Monday Night for some dubai chocolate! My wife has loved how they serve it in a cup with fruit. We tried it again yesterday but they also had a brownie which we got. I've been shopping at World Fresh Market for the past few months and have always appreciated the selection of international groceries and the reasonable prices of the produce. The bakery and deli employees are consistently friendly and helpful whenever I have questions or need assistance. However, the customer service at the checkout counters is a recurring issue that really detracts from the overall experience. On nearly every visit--whether shopping alone or with friends and family--I've encountered cashiers who are unwelcoming and, at times, outright disrespectful. Most recently, the cashier didn't make eye contact, didn't offer a receipt, and walked away before the transaction was even complete. Another employee had to step in to finish the process, and unfortunately, she wasn't any more courteous. This level of service at the registers stands in stark contrast to the friendly experiences I've had at other local markets across the KC metro. Also, avoid weekends if possible--the parking lot is a nightmare and the store gets extremely crowded. read more

Don't be deceived by the word "fresh" At first glance you get entice by the variety of produce from different parts of the world, and to be honest their dry produce and bakery is not bad. They have some good produce. But when you buy fruit and vegetables and other perishables, hmmm, not so fresh as their claim. You may find than after a day or two your fruits go bad!! Not so fresh as they claim. Their policy is horrible, no other market has a 24 hour return policy. So, if you work and you come back home to a rotten produce...you are screwed!!! I think their is a health policy about selling back produce, please make a complain at your health department, so this stores don't abuse of customers. I personally will not be buying there anymore...two many occasions finding fruits or vegetables in bad condition the next day...Can't return them after 24hr!!!! Wow I was blown away by this store... in a good way. I have favored Asian grocery stores I visit for certain things but man, this international one is pretty awesome. It has the biggest selection of fruits and veggies I've seen, catering to all types of cuisine. There's also a lot of fresh galangal, turmeric, and ginger. It's so organized and clean! The aisles are divided up by cuisine so it's really easy to shop... Asian, Indian, Mediterranean, Mexican, etc. But there's also a wide variety of American items and brands (like corn dogs and lunch meat). But you guys, the meat/seafood section was jaw-dropping. The halal selection is immense with a ton of already marinated meats. I found a lot of Vietnamese-specific products in the different aisles, but honestly, if I'm looking for a certain thing that they might not have, I can easily go across the street to the Oriental Market. At least once a month I drive from the northland to Independence Ave. or Argentine to shop at one of the El Mercado Fresco Mexican groceries. When I learned that they were the operators of the new World Fresh Market in Overland Park, I had to add the 10 extra miles and check them out this weekend. They have taken their small market hispanic food offerings and placed it in an old Walmart facility and have taken the product line international. It's truly mind blowing to have this type of variety of international foods under one roof. Entire long aisles are devoted to Hispanic, Asian, Indian, Eastern European, Mediterranean.... The produce section is worth a trip in itself, throw in a traditional Mexican bakery, taco stand, a meat and seafood section bigger than any I've seen and that doesn't include a separate halal counter. Prices are extremely competitive, the staff was eager to show assistance and it even has an area for dining if you want to grab something from the fresh prep areas. I highly recommend the fresh coctel de camarones from the seafood displays for $6.00, one of the reasons that I purposely shop at their other stores. Perfection in a plastic cup. Are you expecting visitors from a small town in the midwest? Take them here. I think anyone would be impressed with the dynamics, energy, selection, variety of people and products... What a food traveling experience without getting on a plane. First I will say go to the store with patients the store is very crowded but there is so much to look at on my first visit I spent 2 hours there. Clearly if you're on Yelp you're a foodie but this is the place to go by any and or all ethnic ingredients you might like or need. I'll start with the produce the produce department was fantastic and many items that you can't get even at some of the other local ethnic groceries, in addition it's fresh and the prices are amazing the pre-slice mangoes at 399 with the chamoy sauce are wonderfully delicious and what a price the meat section is very unique as well the fresh meats lots of cuts that are unusual to the common person but one thing I particularly like they had oxtails at the ready both Halal and regular. They do have fresh fish and frozen fish I didn't do much price comparison on that but I did notice that they did have a great selection of fresh fish notably and the frozen fish side they had calamari rings which are sometimes hard to find. The bread section was amazing there's a rocky bread that I got but there's Indian bread and Mexican bread and all kinds of wonderful breads again reasonably priced. Just a note things are grouped differently so having walked up and down every aisle definitely helped me understand the store quite a bit for example they have sardines from many countries but the sardines are not all together they're more grouped by country there are sauces galore but again grouped by country rather than an Isle of sauces. They do have some prepared foods which I did not try on this visit but I'll update this review on my next visit I am so glad there's a store like this in Kansas City and I'm so glad that it was as crowded as it was we need to keep great stores like this in Kansas City. Lastly I want to add how friendly the staff is it's just a pleasant experience but again go when you have plenty of time and know that you're going to have to deal with the crowds yay for the store being here!!! read more
