I literally just walked out of that place, having spent more than $60, and the old guy behind the counter was as rude as can be. I walked in, and I get that he had customers (a trendy, older couple, who seemed to have some change in their collective pocket), but my initial issue was that he barely even acknowledged my presence, and when he did, his tone went from pleasant to seemingly annoyed (not an exaggeration). So, I'm looking around the store, and I see a couple of things I liked, and the store clerk is just fully engaged with the couple and they're having what sounds like a nice conversation. As this is going on, I move to the other part of the store, and in doing so I walked past the clerk who was posted behind the register. As I passed him, in a very different tone, "let me know if you need any help." I immediately thought to myself, "wtf is this guy's problem?" Brushing it off, I continued shopping. Once ready to check out, I approached the counter where the clerk was just chatting it up with this couple, who had all ready made their purchase, so i am kept waiting while this conversation concludes. After they finally left, I then laid my items on the counter and you could have heard a pin drop.. not a word from the clerk. And then when he finally does speak, he's got that same tone again. Now, I know that I did not come in this store, causing anything or doing anything that would merit being treated like that. I'm guessing he assumed I didn't have money or something. I don't know, I speculate, of course, as I have no idea what goes on in the minds of crazy people. Even after spending more than sixty dollars, I didn't even get a thank you, he dropped my receipt in the bag as though were a piece of trash. Sorry to be so long about this, but things like this really irritate me. Who knows what his problem is? But if he treats people like that that are spending money at his store, then you all should avoid it, i know, I certainly won't be back, and I will be spreading the word.

The store is very well stocked and organized, making locating the specific merchandise you are looking for easy. We have found the store clean and well staffed on every visit. What really stands out to put this location as a winner is the amazing customer service we have received from every staff member we encounter. As an example, this past Sunday, we were traveling out of town and in Jasper. It was early and we arrived as the store opened so my wife could find a pair of Asics tennis shoes she has been looking for in her size with a specific color theme. We had been unsuccessful in finding the exact shoe she wanted in her size in any other store. We did not see a match and were starting to walk back toward the door, and a female staff member stopped and asked if there was anything she could help us find. We told her no, we needed 6.5 woman's shoe in a certain style and they did not have it. She offered to look for us and said at times, customers will put a box in the wrong location. A few moments later she returned with the exact shoe my wife wanted in a size 6.5 and it fit like a glove. The five-star customer service did not stop there, when we went to the counter, the young lady at the register helped us with adding up several Kohl's Cash receipts to give us a total of $25 off our purchase price. The bottom line, we can buy Asics Shoes from any retailer for the same cost. We can also go directly to the Asics website and purchase directly. As a customer, we have many, many choices. We chose to continue to patronize Kohl's because of their fantastic customer service, even if the price is different. Other Kohl's stores should look at this Jasper, Indiana location and work to mimic what they do every day to WOW their customers.
