The women who work here are fantastic! Whether it is Maykayla who is knowledgable so very resourceful, or Catalina or Coco. They are each different in the style but warm and like the college best friend you need when swimsuit shopping. This level of customer service is appreciated especially when not all stores in this Country Mart follow suit, pun intended. Highly recommend these suits for all body types! Associates are well versed in what is best for your body. Pricey but well worth it. Especially if you are not 100% comfortable with your body and going to be in a suit! I always get compliments on my suits. They are relatively simple but very stylish. Great suits, terrible customer service. Why is it when you are a person of color (Asian) and walk into a store in Marin, shopgirls automatically assume that you are not worthy of their time. I'm well dressed, educated and clearly wanted to shop. None of the four, yes you read that right, four salespeople, acknowledged me while I browsed suits for 10 minutes. Not a hello, or even a glance. I get that people like to be left alone while they shop, but a greeting is customary. Not that it matters, but I am not old, disabled, overweight or anything else that you would think would be a reason for this kind of discrimination. I cannot think of a reason other than that I am not white. Later a blonde woman with a toddler walks in and they fawn over her. No thank you. I can spend my money (and there is plenty of it) elsewhere. You should be ashamed. read more

I'm a healthy size 10/12 depending on where I shop and swimsuit shopping has never been easy for me so I wasn't expecting much out of this store. After peaking around, the sweet sales girl asks me a couple of questions, grabs some suits and tells me I look like I'd fit a size 8 rather than 10 (sold). Here's the crazy part - the first swimsuit I tried on fit perfectly, hiding all of the bad spots and complimenting other areas of my body. Did I mention I was also 5 months pregnant? I don't normally drop this kind of money on clothes, but I don't normally love the way I look in a bathing suit. Having a positive body image while in a bathing suit was well worth the money. read more

Swimsuits here, while pricey, are unique and beautifully made and they have a nice selection of accessories and apparel, not generally available in other stores in Marin. The store manager, Liv, is amazing in every way. So warm and helpful and makes you so comfortable trying on swimsuits, not easy. Beware though, that they only offer store credit and that all tags must be attached in order to return for credit. I made the mistake once of removing a tag and couldn't return the item. read more

I've bought two necklaces for a friend here, and the lost coating on the first one according to the sales person was because it was worn a lot. Hmm? When I told the same sales person that the second necklace broke, and I asked if they do any repairs, she said there's nothing she could do about it. No "I'm sorry, bring it in, and let's look at it." Nothing even close to any kind of give a shit. Today was the last time I step foot in that store. Apparently this store hires only sales people, and not customer service people. Too bad. I like to support the stores in the Country Mart, but this won't be one of them. read more

Great customer service, nice space and has everything in all sizes. I was there on Tuesday, July 3. It closed at 6 PM and I walked in at 5:55. The sales woman was very gracious and helpful in trying to help me find something quickly and stayed an extra 10 minutes after she could have kicked me out so I could try a couple things on. I have an unusual body type and found two suits I liked in 20 mins. Only reason this post is four stars instead of five is because the prices are sort of crazy. If the owner/manager is reading this, I hope the woman who was closing on July 3rd gets a pat on the back. She was great. I should have got her name to call and tell you that in person but I somehow neglected to do so. If money is not a biggie, this is a great place. read more

Best kept secret in Larkspur. Boutique swimwear line with a philosophy to celebrate individual beauty, I find it difficult to tear myself away from the chic yet friendly and surprisingly warm store. As a bonus, the ladies that work there are top-notch : helpful, approachable, stylish, and sweet. They didn't even mind my toddler toddlering around the store post-ballet, and went to great lengths to find me what I didn't know was missing in my life (super-cute swimwear, amazing sandals). I'm looking forward to my next visit already. read more

The suits here are pricey, but they are well beyond worth it. And the saleslady was extremely sweet, helpful, and patient. I found four PERFECT pieces here and immediately went home and rid my closet of all my old suits. After having a baby, I was reluctant to wear a two piece ever again, but not since I found these suits! I shopped at MM for the first time today. I've been aware of her designs and brand for several years but don't live near one of the stores and as the suits are quite pricey never wanted to try to order without trying on first. I happened to be in Marin with my family for the day and had a minute to check out the shop. I ended up buying 2 beautiful pieces. I love these suits, and I can tell that she really designs for a range of women's bodies which is always a wonderful thing. The sales lady (Olivia, I think) was really helpful in finding sizes and suggesting coordinating pieces that might work for me. Great style, great fit, pricey, but worth it!!! read more

I asked the salesperson to show me the most supportive tops they have and she said, "our designer Malia is a breast cancer survivor so she doesn't use underwires as they cause breast cancer." I nearly choked as I am a breast cancer survivor. Someone must be subscribing to some hogwash quack. read more

AMAZING STORE!!!! Ladies, if you haven't been, drop what you're doing and GO!! Bathing suit shopping at Malia Mills is no ordinary retail experience. It's a revelation. I have never walked out of a bathing suit store feeling BETTER about my body than when I walked in. They have styles and sizes to fit every shape gorgeously. The staff is amazing... attentive, helpful, warm. And the designs are out of this world. Think 50's pin-up inspired. Yes, it's pricey... but honestly worth every penny. read more

Buyers beware. I understand that small specialty stores have their own store policy on returns & exchanges, but Malia Mills policy with regard to this is truly unreasonable. Be careful if you take a garment home to try on because If you happen to take off the tag attached by a "safety pin" because you didn't want to snag the delicate fabric, remember to attach it back on if you decide to return it. I attempted to exchange the unworn top fig something else, but forgot to attach the "safety pin" tag back on (although if was in the bag). The salesgirl insisted that the tag was removed, therefore, she refused to exchange it. So unreasonable!!!!! Clearly, the top was unworn. I stupidly forgot to attach tag (safety pin allows you to remove it) back on. My bad, but truly, bad customer service on the salesgirl's part. Didn't argue with her as I felt it wouldn't matter since she has no people skills. To the girl who was working the store today around 1:30, I'll give you a zero in service. On the upside, the store has great pieces, but won't be in business much longer. read more

I visited the store in mid November 2014. Olivia and Christina helped me choose a swimsuit that looks as it were made for me and makes me feel beautiful. They took their time with me, no rushing or pressure. The cute accessories they suggested were the icing on the cake and my vacation wardrobe was completed. They even sent me a Thank You card.
