I went here with my friend a couple times and doctor Maugeri is extremely rude, has treated us both with such disrespect, makes me uncomfortable with how arrogant and rough he is. The care and attention you'll receive here is unmatched. It all starts with Donna, the receptionists! She's extremely sweet and accommodating. She has always gone above and beyond to work around our busy schedules. Dr. Ron has been providing care for my husband for over 20 years! Beware of this scam in the name of health unless you have disposable income. Just use your heating pads, tens unit, Jacuzzi and ethical masseuses and chiropractors who bill fairly. As a professor without a trust fund, I work for every dollar. Kat at the front desk will reel you in promising their billing department "knows all the codes" and "will resubmit claims until reimbursement is secured." False: their billing lady Donna did not "know the codes" and never submitted the claim to the correct address in the first place, and did not make a single call to my insurance once she had my out-of-pocket cash--breaking the receptionist's promise. And they didn't stop at just keeping my money. They kept my $850 PLUS an over-payment of $1100 from my insurance. Their chiropractor failed to fix a rib twice so it took three $350 visits plus he prescribed $150/hour massages. Three attempts at twisting my torso to relocate my rib: $350 a twist?! With my insurance, this would have cost $15/visit with my co-pay, but this place charged me as a cash patient and made me pay up front until insurance paid. (Kat said, "Yes, this is Malibu. Everything is expensive.") So for six months, I made calls and filed claims and appeals myself. Finally, my insurance granted me a one-time courtesy reimbursement for this out-of-network provider. BUT my insurance over-paid by $1100, and Malibu Wellness kept this. So I filed complaints with the Attorney General and Chiropractic Board and Kaiser. Their services were not worth $850 in the first place (three visits, one twist a visit, two failed attempts, prescribing several hours of massage--also at their clinic). It is a racket in the name of "health," and their receptionist smells like cigarette smoke. Heating pads, a tens unit, Jacuzzi, and an ethical chiropractor--not at this racket!--are the cure. read more

Got a massage for sciatica pain. The massage therapist went deep and knew all the right places to work on my back and hip, down to Mt calf. She listened and checked in with me, which I really appreciate. Love that the bed is warm with extra blankets plus heater. The softest cushioned face pillow. Awesome chiropractors here. All do an awesome job top to bottom. Ron, Josh, Victor. Donna, the receptionist is awesome, too! Massages vary. Olga is head and shoulders the best one at this practice. I would love it if she worked more, but I know she's only there a few days during the week (M-F). Next best in my opinion is Brenna. She does a pretty good job. If you like torture, go with Noochie (sp?). I like my massages to feel good and relaxing, I should look forward to the experience; not with Noochie... everything she does hurts. Gina is nice, but will talk your ear off during massage. Not to be mean, but it seems like she really doesn't know what she's doing. I could probably do the techniques she uses. If I had a preference of who to choose it would be: Olga, Brenna, Gina, then Noochie (Gina & Noochie are tied for 3rd, but at least Gina doesn't hurt you). If they could clone Olga, that place would be the best chiro around. read more

Normally I don't write review but...went there because a severe low back pain due to a tennis game and...I was new in Malibu so I googled chiropractor and their name came up and it was highly reviewed so I called and they were willing to see me right away and I was like...that's great. BUT!! This is what i got for $300 - Preliminary questions - A few minutes of ice bag - A few minutes of an electric machine ( sorry I don't know the exact name ) - I've been offered to buy Turmeric - I've been offered to buy massages - I've been offered to buy a MRI. I mean to do a MRI. - No adjustment It was my very first time going to a chiropractor so I was like...maybe this is how it works. I left, went home and after 2 hours I was completely unable to walk, to sit etc... I was paralyzed. The following morning I called a different chiropractor here in Malibu. He told me to go there immediately and for $85 I did adjust me, on the spot. Sent an email to them explaining what was happened and they offered me a second visit for free. I didn't accept, obviously!! I didn't ask for a refund and they didn't offer me such a thing which on my opinion was the right thing to do on their part. P.S. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER A MONTH AGO. I booked an appointment for my boss with Dr. Ron last week in the evening for the next morning, and he took my request right away. She has extensive experience with many chiropractors, and is very familiar with the work. He replied to me asking for our information, and emailed us paperwork to save time at the office. He never once mentioned the pricing. She arrived and went through the preliminary questions with his assistant (whom she thought was the actual doctor), and then Dr. Ron came in and adjusted her. At the end of her appointment, she went to pay for her session and to her surprise, she was charged $300. We have never been charged this for even a consultation. Upon leaving, her neck was still out of alignment, and we felt he overcharged for something he didn't deliver- and never communicated of this. I also reached out to him to discuss and deliver feedback, and his response was that he normally charges $450 for a first time client. In over 20 years in visiting chiropractors all over the country, we have never been charged this. We leave this experience with a bad taste in our mouths about this Doctor. We value and totally believe in the chiropractic wellness practice, and feel disappointment in the results that were provided, especially for the cost. read more

Was sent to the doctor who was out of network when the other one was... a $35 copay visit ended up costing me hundreds. I was shocked and saddened when I learned there were two doctors and I had been sent to the one out of network. I'm confused as to why they would not have made sure I was with the covered doctor- I had told them my insurance provider ahead of time. Feeling deceived and unfortunately won't be back. read more

I came in for a massage with Olga, and was blown away. I'm a massage and spa aficionado, and I get massages all over the world...& this was truly the best massage I have ever had! I am thrilled with how I felt afterward. During, I just wished that it would never end. Olga is very skilled, and extremely talented. There is an oasis in the middle of Malibu and it is Malibu Chiropractic and Wellness. From the minute you step in the door, you know you are in a good place. I met the Maugeris (Dr. Ron, his wife, Donna and their son) through hockey when our sons were on the same team. My son got a separated shoulder and Dr. Ron took care of him so he could get back on the ice as soon as possible. So when I was having foot issues and the podiatrist I had been seeing said that surgery was my only option, I knew I had to go see Dr. Ron first. I could barely walk when I went into the office for the first time but Dr. Ron and his team (Dr. Josh and Dr. Amir) took extraordinary care of me. It took several months of weekly visits (sometimes as often as 3x/wk) but they never gave up! (I actually asked them at one point not to give up on me and they said NEVER!) Dr. Ron and his team use the newest and most effective treatments available coupled with homeopathic products so you heal naturally without drugs or other stuff that just masks the symptoms. My work requires that I walk A LOT and can, on occasion, be on my feet for 12 hrs/day. I am now back to full power and it feels great! In addition to the amazing knowledge of healing that the Drs have, there is the support of the office staff lead by Donna. I NEVER had to wait and Donna definitely knows her way around working with insurance companies which, as we all know, is a challenge in itself. I went to see Dr. Ron Maugeri after two close friends (whose opinion's I value) highly recommended him. I was injured while surfing and I suffered a mild concussion and some persistent neck/back pain that ensued from the collision that caused the injury. It was my first visit to the office so I didn't know what to expect, but my first impression put me immediately at ease. The office is beautiful, spotless, welcoming, and has gorgeous views of Pepperdine and the Malibu mountains. My significant other, who accompanied me, was offered a comfortable chair that had internal rollers that massaged and comfortably stimulated her back while she waited for me. She was very appreciative and it helped relieve her second-hand stress about my injuries. I first met with Dr. Phil, the concussion specialist, who was incredibly knowledge and personable. He focused first on answering my questions, putting me at ease, and giving me peace of mind about the severity of the injury and the recovery process. Dr. Phil then set me up with a light treatment (it was a special light that stimulated specific points and healing agents) for about 7 minutes. After the light treatment Dr. Ron and an associate came in to adjust my neck and back to relieve the pain. I don't know if it was the light treatment, the adjustment, or the peace of mind, but I walked out of that office feeling like gold. It's 48 hours now after I visited the office and all my neck and back pain are gone (with the exception of very minor soreness which is to be expected) and my concussion symptoms have significantly subsided. I can't believe 48 hours ago I could barely function intelligently or comfortably, and now I am fully enjoying a gorgeous day without a second thought of pain or discomfort thanks to Dr. Ron and Dr. Phil. The treatment was phenomenal, and I really think the ambiance of the office and the welcoming staff makes an enormous difference as well with giving peace of mind and a warmth that puts you at ease and in a healing mind set. read more
