If you are getting married in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, or anywhere within an hour's drive of Garden Florist - do yourself the biggest favor and go with Chantal. Chantal's work is stunningly beautiful, her pricing is by far the most reasonable and fair of the many florists we came across, and I knew within 2-3 minutes of discussing our vision with her (over the phone) that she could deliver exactly what we were looking for. One day later (and less than two weeks before our wedding - talk about last minute) I drove over to her shop and turned over all of our mason jars, glass vases, seashells and other beachy themed materials to her capable hands, and knew we'd made the right choice and could rest easy. I knew without a doubt that she'd guide it all into a beautiful scene at our Zuma Beach ceremony and Malibu West Beach Club reception. And were we ever right! I had six bridesmaids, six groomsmen, and about 175 guests so there was a lot to cover. The flowers were gorgeous and turned out even better than I had imagined. I was definitely impressed with Chantal. She took the time to meet with me several times and go over details. It was great to have her advice and suggestions, especially with my bridal bouquet which was beautiful! I called Dena after finding the Malibu Garden Florist on Yelp and reading some good reviews. I was looking for someone to make me a wedding bouquet and some boutonnieres on a very limited budget. They were willing to give me a price over the phone and work within my price range without trying to upsell, and they were happy to deliver to my remote wedding location in the hills in Malibu on a Sunday. Dena was also willing to work with me just over the phone and by email because I didn't have time to visit the shop in person. I emailed her some photos of bouquets I liked, and she emailed me some options of fresh flowers that were available at the market. She went out of her way to find me brown orchids on a special request from the groom, and created an absolutely stunning bouquet that was exactly what I was hoping for. It was delivered on time with no problems even though my wedding location was very hard to find and several of our guests got lost looking for it. They provided a few extra boutonniers and orchids for the flower girl's hair at no extra cost, and made an adorable little basket with coordinating rose petals for her. Most importantly, Dena really listened to what I was asking for and took my preferences to heart. She emailed me a picture of a flower I didn't like and immediately changed course when I gave her my feedback. I was blown away by how gorgeous the bouquet was and it was such a fun surprise. I'm so happy I found this florist, Dena was very easy to deal with via email, and did a wonderful design copying a photo I sent her for my wedding bouquet perfectly. Her shop was super helpful too when I called last minute (a few days before the wedding) asking for some extra flowers for the cake. I'll include photos of both so you can see how pretty they turned out! I had originally picked them thinking we could pickup from them in Malibu to avoid a delivery charge, being on a super tight budget, but they were not available for that in Malibu - but delivery was only $25 and they were right on time the morning of the wedding, and the flowers were packed extremely well and delivered in perfect condition. BEWARE THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL LOCATION, which is very misleading and wasted a lot of my time to drive all the way down through Malibu to look into my wedding arrangements, only to find that this is a non-existent location. When I got on the phone with the company, they answered by saying "hello?" not Malibu Garden. The lady told me that they are located in Westlake Village... They claim that this location is a "venue" when in fact it's nothing but a lagoon surrounding Malibu. Sounds to me like they are trying to gain business from the Malibu residence and inevitably lead them to the location in Westlake. Not pleased with the lack of transparency here! read more
