I was referred to Malie Cannabis Clinic through one of my coworkers and I am so glad that I listened to him because WOW! not only is Dr. Me very knowledgeable in her field but she's super nice and so is her receptionist! Since we are still in a Pandemic you do have to schedule an appointment especially if its your first visit because you do need to see Dr. Me in person. Once you get into the office you'll be greeted. You'll also need to fill out an application which should only take 2-5 minutes and yes like I've mentioned before, we are still in a Pandemic so social distancing is enforced by the staff separating some chairs in the waiting room and only allowing up to 4 patients in at a time (not including the receptionist.) After you fill out the application, just hand it back to the receptionist then she'll take your payment and ask you to kindly wait until its your turn to see the Doc. I decided to explore this clinic as an option for pain/brain tumor management. I have been in a vicious cycle of pain and injury this entire year. Although, I've been battling cancer forever, I've actually never used this resource as an option because simply put, I do not smoke. However, there are many forms of the product so smoking is less of a concern for me now. Beginning with January, I had 3 right breast lumpectomies with 8 additional biopsies off my chest wall. I was already dealing with the right hip impingement from my fall last October, 3 weeks before I ran New York. I did run our half marathon in April. I finished but it was an ugly finish. Then, I went parasailing in July and that was the kiss of death to my year. The landing? was so hard in the water that it completely bruised my heart and chest wall resulting in a brief hospitalization. During my hospitalization, I had to undergo an angiogram in which they surgically cut my femoral artery in my right groin to insert a camera to view my heart. The worst part of all of this (yes, there is a worst part) is that all of the surgical incisions have prevented my daily swimming workouts for most of the year. As if all of this wasn't enough, I still live with a stable brain tumor. Every time I fly, I have to take steroids to prevent brain swelling and vertigo. Needless to say, I need to try anything and everything to bounce back as quick as possible. So here I am, walking into this sleek, gold clad office. I briefly filled out my paperwork with the receptionist. I met with the Nurse Practitioner to complete my application and discuss my treatment expectations. I'll get my card in about 4 weeks. We'll see if I still need to use it or not. Honestly, I'm willing to try any non-narcotic to relieve some of this chronic pain. Cheers to being pain free in 2018! read more

I can't believe I went all this time without writing a review for this amazing business! I first visited Malie Cannabis Clinic last summer at the recommendation of a coworker. I had no idea how the whole acquiring your medical marijuana card process went, but everyone at the clinic was super helpful and informative. You can schedule your recommendation and renewal appointments online - which is extremely convenient. If you apply online with the Hawaii DOH, MCC will give you a discount off your exam. My first consultation I did at their office, located on King Street. There is plenty of parking in the parking structure and Malie Cannabis Clinic will validate. I was super nervous as I didn't have a clue how the process worked, but Me was so very nice and patient. She is a wealth of knowledge and kindness that I haven't found anywhere else. I was definitely a newbie at this whole thing: how to medicate, what strains, etc. Me gave me some pamphlets that directly correlated to my medical conditions and helped me figure out which method of medicating would be best for me and which strains. You can now renew your application online as well as perform your renewal exam over the phone. Their website makes it very easy to schedule an appointment and pay for the exam. This is how I did my renewal and it was a godsend! Me called me directly and we were able to discuss my case and finish the process seamlessly. I would definitely love to have Me as my everyday nurse practitioner, but hey, I'll take what I can get! And by the way, the rest of her staff is equally as friendly and accommodating. King St. Along with the receptionist welcoming you when you walk through their door are two beautiful kaleidoscopic cannabis paintings, along with olden days tinctures and medicines.  It really puts into perspective how far we've come in regards to prohibition and general acceptance. The receptionist is fast-working & warm.  I suggest coming 15 minutes early so you have time time to complete the patient registration forms & she has time to make sure your ID was submitted to the dept of health. You will be seen by an APRN named Me Fuimaono-Poe. Hawaii's medical marijuana laws have changed recently & APRN's are now fully certified to prescribe medical marijuana for debilitating diseases. Me will go over how the program works, how she diagnoses and submits paperwork to the dept of health, how cannabis could benefit you, dangers and things to be concerned about, and the chemistry & what actually gives people relief. I was very surprised when she was discussing terpenes with me,specifically myrcene and what strains/cultivars contain it. I am one of the first people in hawaii that got a medical marijuana card for pain, and have been to a few different doctors, experiencing how they run their clinics. Although Me's workflow is completely streamlined and efficient, I did not feel rushed at all.  What I did was feel was a sense of relief. I was terrified about the prospect of going though another provider(old dr passed away) to obtain an updated med card, but all of my concerns and fears were unwarranted because Me sets the bar on how establishing and consulting new patients should be handled. She is very professional and warm. Once that's done you'll be sent a confirmation email along with the next step which is registering or renewing with the state. Save yourself some time and do this before your appointment. You'll save $10 at your appointment by completing this before arriving. Once there the friendly receptionist will assist you. You'll need to fill out a brief physical/medical history form. She will also validate your parking ticket. From there you will meet with Malie who will do a physical assessment to determine what your needs are. Malie is very knowledgeable.
