First things first: my hair looks great. I got a single process color, cut and blowout. The shade…read moreof red I got is beautiful, but they did NOT need to bleach my roots (which added hours and money to the process). I've achieved much brighter reds at home with dye and developer. The price was outrageous. For the services I got done, I usually pay $190 at my usual salon. I paid $350!!! And that did not include the tip. This was my most expensive trip to the salon -- ever. There was a dog in the salon the entire time, and I had dye all over my neck, my ears and my forehead when I got out. I'm no stranger to getting my hair dyed (I usually keep it red) but the amount of dye I had on my skin just reflected the lack of attention to detail. For the price point, I would've expected more. More everything: attention to detail, professionalism and a better ambiance. Won't be returning. If you want to spend an exorbitant amount of money on a mediocre haircut and dye job, go ahead. I wouldn't recommend this place to students in the area however. If you're looking for a balayage or highlights, you might have a better experience than I did (most of the pictures on their site are of those kinds of dye). My hair might be on the website now, I remember some pictures being taken of my hair... I won't deny that it looks great, but my wallet was left hurting despite the fact that I had a mediocre experience and a tough time getting dye off my skin for the next week.

She's the only hair stylist I trust for my hair. At the start of every appointment, she spends time discussing the hair color and style you want while explaining to you exactly what she needs to do to achieve the color or style you want, while also giving suggestions. She puts such detailed effort into her work, and it always makes me feel so confident that it'll turn out perfectly.

So it's a great salon to come and unwind. Quality: 5 I've booked with Zoey twice~ the first time was for Japanese hair straightening and the 2nd was just a hair trim. My hair ends are really dry and Zoey did a really good job helping the ends heal. The straightening came out looking really good too! Service: 5 I felt respected as a guest and Zoey took the time to understand what I want and to understand my hair's needs as well. I didn't feel like she rushed through the entire process. Booking is easy since I just text her! I recently moved to Edison and have been looking for a go to hair stylist. So happy to find one and will gladly go again!

I used to really like Muse, but my most recent experience at Muse left a lot to be desired. I went…read morefor a partial balayage touch up after having grown out my hair without any glazing or maintenance for the past 6 months. The balayage had grown in beautifully and I had no complaints other than wanting to redo the roots and darken the color since it lightened up over time. Chelsea had done such an excellent job before, and I was excited to book my touch up with her. Everything was fine until Chelsea blew out my hair and it came out way too light-lighter than the color I had come in with. She drastically overlightened my hair and had to glaze me twice-something I don't think either of us were expecting. After the second glaze the final color was improved but still seemed to miss the mark of what I hoped to achieve. In any case, a week goes by and I notice that my hair lightened up several shades with brassy undertones after only 2 washes with a color safe shampoo. I was confused considering I just had it darkened. When I called to express that I was unhappy with the color, the manager quickly got in contact with me and offered to fit me in the same day to correct it. When I came into the salon, Chelsea had already mixed the colored glaze before seeing my hair or discussing it with me. She didn't ask me what my concerns were and immediately had someone else apply the glaze to my hair. After Chelsea glazed me again, the color was improved but inexplicably light/blond in certain areas. She applied a bit more of the glaze to some of the lighter portions which helped improve the color a bit more. When I asked if she could dry me with a curl instead of drying straight she very tersely told me "I don't have time and this is free so..." as if I hadn't paid ~$300 10days prior for a coloring service that failed to meet my goals. She also didn't finish drying my hair and only dried the front sending me out with damp hair in the back of my head. I left the salon upset about how much time and money was wasted on a frustrating experience with mixed results. This experience has turned me off to this salon. I will not be returning for services in the future. The good: responsive management The bad: inconsistent service with unprofessional/borderline rude stylists and high price tags

I have to write an even MORE raving review. I just recently turned 30, and have been feeling hella old. My hair color from my last salon, well, I felt it aged me. It was this warm blonde color and was a very rooted look. I never really loved it but my old hairdresser insisted it was perfect for me due to my age and complexion. Unlike the previous salon, Larissa took my image of what I wanted during my consultation and made it into a reality, and assessed whether it'd suit my skin tone and everything. She even added a shadow root (her image) to make it look more seamless as it grows. Such a difference that even my mother and father in law liked it and could tell a noticeable change in my hair (words like softer, healthier, more blended.) And they used to HATE my blonde hair. :-O The first time I came in, she fixed my "heavy" layers and I haven't had a bad hair day since. Def my forever hair salon and hairdresser now. I am adopted for good. Thanks so much for making me feel truly beautiful again, Touch Salon. :-)
