I haven't been to this mall in so long - but I was glad that this was a place that I decided to walk through after stopping in Target. It's all connected so you have free-range to walk wherever - to the food court, Rainbow, DTRL, etc. There's a lot of stores in the mall if you need an outfit for tonight or just want to browse around. I'm already planning to go back later as I recall in past retail-days that I this mall keeping a lot of inventory in stock which of course is appreciated! read more

The Mall at Prince George's or my family and I like to just colloquially refer to as "PG" is a hotbed for convenience for us to go into Macys, Target, TJ Maxx, and or other stores close by, window shop, and or purchase what we want and head on out, nothing more nothing less. I think PG's strength lies in its simplistic fashion with being able to drive to let's say Ross, Marshalls, Macys, park in the overcrowded lots, and go into the stores without having to bob and weave throughout the actual mall. The mall itself is only one floor instead of two. This can be a good thing but also a bad thing in terms of variety, flavor, and the dynamic experience of the mall. If the mall is going to be one floor, it has to be dynamic and interesting like Annapolis Mall. (I personally don't like Arundel Mills, Circle Mall of Death, so I won't use them as an example.) I have been an avid driver and known to hit many backroads in the DMV and Baltimore region, but hey when I just want to hit a close enough mall, PG is old reliable and has been for many years now. The Macy's is decent (I somewhat prefer Wheaton's for some things, but PG's is better for other things), DSW, Bath and Body Works, TJ Maxx, Target, and the food court are places my family heads to the most here. The food court is much better than Wheaton's in my opinion in terms of the quality and taste of the food. PG's Charleys owns Wheaton's Charleys in terms of a nice greasy, Steak and Cheese. (Yes, we have to watch our blood pressure and cholesterol I know.) I think PG's food court is a little more laid back than Wheaton's. I think the food is better than Wheaton's and Montgomery's food courts. (Neither of those malls can do a Charleys cheesesteak to save their lives.) I think parking behind PG where Macys and formerly were JC Penney is probably the most convenience or the side entrance going towards TJ Maxx and DSW. The front where the bridge is to the Metro station "Hyattsville Crossing formerly Prince George's Plaza" is too congested, chaotic, and a bit too fast-paced and unpredictable way too many pedestrians and cars trying to find parking and get in and out of the mall there, definitely not a fan of parking directly in front of Target. The surrounding restaurants are a nice addition and are better than the strip of restaurants on the side of Wheaton, although Wheaton's adjacent movie theater is much better than the neighboring tumbleweed University Town Center movie theater and mixed development next to PG. Olive Garden has been the most consistent sit-down chain restaurant next to the mall for folks to indulge in. There has been tons of gentrification and new development in this part of Hyattsville, so I have seen some changes over the years slightly with the demographics of the mall, but the heart and core of the clientele has remained consistent. All in all, PG has been that ole reliable for Hyattsville, Adelphi, Mt. Rainer, Greenbelt, New Carrolton, Chillum, other parts of PG, DC, you name it residents for a more casual, laid-back type shopping experience. Nothing too fancy, bougie, or over the top. Now folks into the hip-hop urban culture have numerous clothing, shoe, and accessory stores that cater to them here, so that is a niche and market here for the urban crowd, so the mall is recommended for that crowd. When I don't want to drive to Wheaton, Montgomery, Annapolis (No need for me to go out to Tyson's regularly I am not a mall rat like that) then PG is just that good friend that is there for you! It is a steady-eddy. It is consistent, the bowl of oatmeal and not the sexy meatball sandwich, it is the a little homely, quirky wife and not the supermodel, vixen girlfriend from college, yeah that's PG! read more

Stay away from the Food Court at Prince George Plaza Mall. I witness several young people fighting and there are lots of security and police always in the food court area. I went to Ruby's Thai Kitchen and the cashier accused me of passing a counterfeit $10.00 bill. I took the $100 bill to Bank of American and they said it was real. I will not go back into this mall again. very hostile place to shop and dine. read more

I love this mall. I am here 2 to 3X a month because I no longer prefer to on-line shop. I do miss the JCPenney's that used to be here a few years ago but they are also opening a Primark and the only other Primark in the area is in Tyson's Corner VA. I am very excited about the opening of Primark I have been anticipating their grand opening! The mall is clean and it is never crowded. It has many great options for affordable stores like: Macy's, Target, Marshall's, Ross, TJ Maxx and soon Primark. The only downside is that the mall closes super early at 8 pm Mon-Sat and 6 pm on Sundays. read more

My history goes way back with this place. And for the record, its name will forever be PG Plaza. I went occasionally growing up, but I didn't become a regular until college. It was a short bus ride or drive away and offered so much! Back then my main places were Jimmy Jazz, Target, and Kingston Arbor. It was also fun to just hang out in the food court, or go right across the street for an occasional movie. The mall has since changed a lot, and there are also a lot more food options outside of it, rather than most of them just being in the food court. There have also been renovations happening, which is always nice to see. The only thing I don't really like is the side of the whole building alongside Target. While the parking lot is massive as is, I personally enjoyed parking there whenever other areas got full. But now, there is always storage stuff and/or fences there that occupy the parking spaces... bummer! read more

Being new to an area means having to find your way around and discovering new things. Which also means having to learn the area as well. I came here because this is the closest mall when I searched for it. I showed up on a Sunday not knowing the hours of this place, which meant when I showed up here I ended up looking like a mall walker. I did a lap around the mall and ended up looking at the directory for a good minute to see what was all in the mall. While looking at the directory an employee was asking me what I was looking for and I told him I just moved to the area and was looking for just some stores to buy a few things I needed. He told me about all the stores he could think of in here. In fact he told me that a few of these stores had entrances outside the mall corridors. He told me that I can go out and into that store before the rest of the stores opened. That is the odd thing about this mall. Some of the stores have an entrance both in and outside of the mall. But there are also some stores that are "part" of this mall, but only have entrances outside the mall. In order to get to them you can follow the signs and hope the weather cooperates. It's funny, I came here, found a few great things inside and bought them. Told my coworkers that I came here and they all gave me the side eye. They said this is not the best mall to go to and I should be lucky to have gone there during the daytime. I have no idea if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Or even if that is the stigma sticking to this mall from a not so nice past. Either way, I will most likely come back here when I am either bored or in need of some things that I know a store here would have. read more

We went in just for target but ended up walking the whole mall (which is only one floor and not too big). But they have the essentials there. Target, H&M, TJmaxx, and a bunch more. Also, there were some cool food/snack kiosk around there too. Like any mall, it's a teenagers hang out spot. But not too rowdy. Security guards were almost at every few steps, first time there so not sure if that's normal. Decent mall though. read more

I think this place is on the come up! If you been in this area for awhile, you know what I'm talking about. It's never been my go to "mall" but is more a stop out of convenience. During my days at UMD back in the day, "PG Plaza" as we called it (I still call it that) was one of the closest places to go shopping for outfits (LVL X, rainbow) for our lil stamp student union parties and the shuttle bus came here so why not?! And it was cheap... Over the years, they've added bigger name stores like Victoria Secret, Target, TJ Maxx, Express, DSW, H&M, Ulta (yes, this is a huge improvement from before - trust me). Now the selection in these stores aren't the best, so again, it's for convenience and price. The Macy's here is terrible - besides the MAC counter I really have no reason to step foot in there. Kudos for the recent additions to the eateries - Mezeh, &Pizza, Chipotle! I think they are trying and in a few years, it might be a place I go to for more than convenience. read more

This mall isn't glitzy. This mall isn't glamorous. This mall isn't gorgeous...so then why do I keep coming back here? Maybe I've got a lil undercover ghetto in me, or maybe I'm just oblivious to my surroundings...I don't know. All I know is that I love PG Plaza, or the "Mall at Prince George's" as the county's gentrification team wants it to be called. It's my go-to "hood mall" where I can always count on finding great cheap clothes for a fraction of the cost and still look good. Plus, it has a Cinnabon! What more could you ask for? Don't be intimidated by the no-name stores here, yes, there's a lot tacky you have to sort through, but when you find gold here baby, you find gold. Ladies...need a new sexy dress for the club tonight? PGP got you covered. Fellas, need some fresh shoes to catch the attention of that fineeee lady at your job? Come on down to the Plaza and get those kicks! Another reason to love the Plaza is the entertaining clientele that comes here...you can't walk through this mall (and yes, it's only one floor) without something funny going down. Ladies, another word to the wise, if you need an ego-booster, come here. You can come in a shower cap, dirty sweats, and a holey-tee and still hear: 'Ay Ma, you look GOOD!!!' And if PG Plaza still sounds a little too 'urban' for you, be not discouraged: the developers around here are really trying to make the mall more 'comfortable' for others. I had not been to this mall in years. It looks like the make over did it some justice. You even have tons of security around the mall which makes it safe. The parking lot is always full. I tried to figure out if people just park there and walk to the metro or what. It's pretty hard to park. Overall this is a nice mall, the people who work at the different stores are all nice. I haven't had one issue with any of the stores. None whatsoever. I frequent this place a whole lot! Clean, it's super clean as well. read more

This isn't the best but it sure ain't the worst! I only come here for the cookies and the old navy. They have the cheapest deals at this old navy. I've gotten pants for .42 cent (no joke) and all the other ones i.e. laurel are more expensive. Either way you put it I get great deals in this mall and that's the reason I came back. I don't like sneakers and g unit gear which you see a lot of in this mall. I'm no sneaker head or a big shopper I'm just practical. The foodcourt is pretty awesome but I didn't get anything because I was meeting friends for lunch at a restaurant nearby. They have great anchor stores Macy's, JCPennys, and Target. So you can really get a lot of good shopping done in one place if you are smart! read more

If you're coming in here for basics, it will do. They have a nail salon, a target, beauty supply.. and some other spots as well! It's kept fairly clean but most of the stores don't have much product on their shelves. Food court doesn't have that many options and the line at mcdonalds will push you to go get somethign else. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DTLR!! They do not give you CASH refunds even if you have a receipt and return item same day. They will give you a gift card!!! I purchased my daughter a pair of shoes today and realized they were the wrong color. I went to return them less than 20min later and the Store employee told me that there are NO CASH refunds! I was NEVER told about this policy before I purchased the shoes! I was barely even spoken to when entering the store! I had to go and ask for help which I regret now! Last time I was this this mall was 9 years ago, and guess what!!! Nothing much has changed I mean there are more shops here and there scattered all over the mall but they dont have lots of good brands. The food court is so pathetically small, (compare to other malls) the mall itself doesn't look posh classy. The energy inside the mall is not good. Sneakers, sneakers, and MORE sneakers!! I'm not sure of Prince George County is the sneaker capitol or not but this mall holds the world record for having the most sneaker stores, lol. My kids and I ended up here by googling "malls near me." There is some renovating going on at the mall , but it didn't effect the environment too much. I enjoy visiting malls so it wasn't a bad experience. The food court was typical and it included a Cinnabon which was exciting. It didn't really have any stores that I would usually go to (Gap, J Crew, Forever 21) but it there were other clothing stores that were ok and some I'd never heard of before. One thing for sure, living in Prince George County you will never run out of shoes that's for sure. read more

The nall is ok however when i went into foot locker today my daughter saw a pair of crocks she then proceeded to ask the worker how much it was. After a long period of time we walked up to the front to see where the shoes were and the guy that my daughter asked for help was rude and disrespectful telling us to go back in line he did not give us instruction after my daughter gave him the shoes and thats bad customer service and not good for the store. read more

Every store in this mall is unbelievably tired. This Macy's is no exception. Everything is old and looks dirty. The lighting is poor. The selection even worst. The makeup section of this location is so sad which makes no sense to me. I asked a girl for some help. She was wearing a completely inappropriate outfit, I could see 3/4 of her bra and in her hand was some sort of hot pocket. I was so disgusted I just turned around and left. read more

If I was basing my stars off of appearance, cleanliness, etc. it would be 2 stars. It gets 3 stars due to the good stores, plenty of parking space and location (across from the metro). Now time for my true review... Ugh this mall...it's just ashame. I so want to like this mall because of all of the great stores here but man the class of people that go here are just on another level. I digress because I am apart of this "class" however, my mama taught me manners and I respect my elders. This place is looking a lot better. There's a lot of useful stores. If you're looking for club items you can find some quick fashion type stuff at Rumors. There's a target , Sephora , and TJ maxx. The food court is okay, not very large but lots of options overall. There's also the golden Krust outside the mall that I like. read more

Why do I do this to myself? I have been to this mall quite often. I used to patronize the Target all the time, but the last few time I have had some of the worst customer service experiences ever. Like there was a sale on the shelf, that wasn't expired, and they refused to honor it for me because it didn't ring up like that. Or the time I found a cute dress that was missing the tag on the clearance rack. They refused to sell it to me. Took them 15 minutes to tell me that. A week later I came back and guess what? The dress was back on the shelf with no price tag. But this mall just isn't this overcrowded, badly staffed and badly stocked store. The security guards are like vultures. I've been accused of stealing from Rainbow. Hell, every time I go in, the security guard follows me around. If I have a small shopping bag, I knot the top in front of him and then he still has the audacity to tell me I can't bring my tiny Gamestop bag in because he's afraid I'm going to steal a five dollar shirt? Uhm... Or the Old Navy. That place is a mess. Clothes on the floor. Nothing sorted. Once in JCPenneys, I saw a group of about 12 Hispanic women get in a fight over 80% off clearance. They put up a sign on a rack that I was standing at and oh dear lord, it was gone in 30 seconds. I've had a waitress at the Olive Garden outside steal from me. (Read my previous review.) This mall might be good if you're looking for the tacky six inch heels. Food court isn't bad, but then you have to experience the finest population this area has. Only time I come now is if I need something from Gamestop and I don't feel like driving out to Greenbelt. read more

Here's the thing: this mall is meant for working-class people and teenagers. I used to come here as a kid and it was a good experience and it is still a pretty good one today. If you have money, I don't recommend coming here. If your store preferences are Old Navy, Shoe City, Marshall's, etc., you want somewhere for the small kids to play, and you don't mind it being packed, definitely come here. It is always safe here (except when new shoes, game systems, etc. come out--gunshots will happen like most other malls that aren't upscale). My friends look at me like I'm insane when I tell them this is my favorite mall to go to but I never leave empty handed! I've been at least a dozen times over the past few years and I usually go on a mission to spruce up my wardrobe. I love that it's super metro accessible (as long as you don't mind walking across a bridge) and all the stores I like on one level. Most recently I took a day off of work and spent all day Friday shopping. Started at Old Navy at 10am. I highly recommend going early because it seems like it gets busier and more disorganized as the day goes on. Next I hit up the TJ Maxx, which wasn't there on my last visit. I really liked the layout and was able to get some good deals (hello black maxi dress for $16.99!). JC Penney's isn't usually a store I think of to shop but I ended getting a really fun pineapple print romper for a vacation as well as a sweater on clearance. The lady at the cash register gave me extra coupons for next week which looks like I can use online! I always find good deals at Payless and they seem to have a good selection. The Macy's is huge but worth it to dig through for extra deals. And the cashiers usually scan extra coupons for me too! (this also happens at the Metro Center Macy's, I love it!) The food court has a Taco Bell so I always end up going there to satisfy my terrible cravings. I love the Why Not boutique full of bright and fun suits. My drag king persona definitely needs that bright yellow velvet blazer but without a certain act in mind I didn't want to drop the $65 just yet. I also like to browse their U Street location. There's tons of other stores that I just never have time to check out because I'm on a mission. I could have spent at least another day shopping but the double hitter of going to Ross then Marshall's was next on my list. I find better deals at Ross but always go to Marshall's to see if anything catches my eye. I always finish with Target. I don't like that they don't let you take your shopping bags into the dressings rooms (I guess stealing concerns?) but the employees were nice about it. The clearance section always has something good. This time it ended up being a huge wall of half price Easter candy. Give me all of the cadbury mini eggs!! The stores in this mall are all within my budget. I can spend a lot of time here, get some good quality pieces (or just fun, trendy pieces), and not completely break the bank. I'll definitely be back again when the seasons change so I have an excuse to go shopping again. read more

This is a really lousy mall. Never clean, and despite being across from the Metro is in a really unsafe area. Parking lot can be a crowded nightmare, and there are hawk-eyed security people watching you to make sure you don't walk off. The stores themselves are overpriced and the food vedors are pretty sketchy. If you really need to buy something, this is a convenient location, but I wouldn't go here by choice. I am a frequent visitor of the Target and the Ulta at this mall. On a recent early morning trip to Target, I got a notice on my car advising me that I had been observed leaving my car in the parking lot and walking away from the mall. The notice also indicated that if my car was spotted again it would be towed at my expense. I was confused as I did not leave and walk away from the mall property. I left my car and walked directly to Target. They have a photo of my car and I am too scared to shop there now. This is truly a ghetto mall. I never thought I see the day where so many people come out on the first to spend their money and then don't show up to the mall ever again until this time. The people and service in some stores are loud, rude and not professional. I hope if and when they upgrade they get rid of DTLR - GHETTO, Men' Wearhouse - those girls are always ghetto especially the chubby one with crayon hair. I can't imagine them representing this company. In order for this mall to succeed you got to flush out the bad to bring the good...many businesses would never come there because of the craziness that goes on there. I have been a loyal customer of the store Mad Rags for about 7 years, but after being treated badly by this store recently, I will never return to this store again. I bought a see through style sweater from this place for $5. They usually have good sales like this, but sometimes sales are final. I checked that the sweater was good, but when I get home, it was all ripped. I am guessing that when the lady was taking the sweater off the hanger that she must have accidentally ripped the sweater. If she did this, she should have had the decency and courtesy to let me know, but she did not. When I got home and found out it was ripped, I took it back to the store, but they refused to take it back and refused to give me $5 gift card in return. If they are going to treat loyal customers like this, then I will never go shopping at their place ever again and neither should you! read more

i have lived in this area awhile now, enough to know that the recent changes and up-and-coming improvements will make for a nicer pg mall. so far i am happy with the selection, granted it is a one level mall, that you can walk from one side to the other in 15-17 minutes or less ( straight through) its becoming a "b" grade mall in my opinion. but this is saying a lot because this mall was a grade "d". middle stands are annoying but the stores themselves are all mostly revamped. tip; due to renovations you might wanna park in the back. go early, like every mall the weekends and rush hour it can get heavily populated. read more

I've been to this mall a few times. They have a few stores (Victoria Secret, Old navy, Macy's, TJ Maxx & Ross) that I like to hit sometimes all in one visit. I wouldn't say it's my favorite place to shop because I would prefer a few more quality stores. Nonetheless it serves its purpose. read more

I came her to meet with a client. It appears that there are not enough seat around the mall. But there tables and chairs in the food court. When you're trying to hear what your client have to say in a food court, it's like trying to find a needle in a sand. It appears that food options were plenty and liked the smoothie stands (ice ice baby). Since I came 4 days before Christmas, parking was HECTIC. PG Plaza is a pretty decent mall. The Macy's selection is not as broad as in some areas but the Marshalls and Ross has some good finds. Plus, the Target is nice and now JC Penneys has a Sephora. So, I agree with one of the reviewers that it caters more to an urban group, but it's certainly not a bad mall. As far as dangerous, I don't see it. When I think of dangerous, I think of SE DC! read more
