He told me "Oh, we don't deliver outside 3 miles", and suggested I contact "one of our larger stores who have more emplyees." Which steuck me as a bumch of garbage, but I called the Silver Lake store. The lady I talked to was wonderful, and was also a resident of Mukilteo. She couldn't believe what I hD been told. "Let me give them a call for you." I went outside and worked for a little over an hour. No call. I came back in and called Silver Lake again. "They haven't called you yet??" "Nope." "Let me call them again." She called right back to tell me that" when I got the manager and gave him my name, he hung up on me" (!!) So I contacted Ace corporate to lodge a formal complaint. I was put on hold for 20 minutes and was told"I lodged your complaint with the store manager and you should be hearing from him soon." I told him I was mot holding my breath for that call.( that never came.) Meanwhile the gal from Silver Lake called back and offered to deliver from her store for a small fee. I told her "thank you so much for going above and beyond, but I won't give Ace Hardware another nickel of my money."

Whenever I stop in, someone comes from behind the counter to help me out and ask what I need. If…read morethey don't have it they will refer me to someone else that does. That means a lot because they arent trying to sell me something from their store just to make business. After 25 minutes of waiting, the store began to get busy again as two service humans were serving two customers from the same company at the same time. After listening to the four of them go over a variety of details, I ventured to ask "Miles" if I could pick up my paint - already paid for - because I had been waiting neary 1/2 an hour. His response was dismissive enough ("We've been busy. Those men were here before you.") we will toss the samples I bought and start over with another store for the project we are just beginning. I can't imagine having to avoid Miles for the next year - which is all I would want to do. If you are a guy, I am sure you will LOVE Miles. He seems to be very ready to help the men he knew, along with the man who was already helping them. But a stranger? An older woman he has never seen? He didn't seem as interested. Personally, I would say, "Go anywhere else." It's a disappointment. I had shopped Sherwin Williams as a contractor for years. Maybe even before Miles was born. Regardless, he had no reason to be as dismissive as he was considering how long I waited with patience. It wasn't a lot to ask that one of the two clerks could be helping one of the two customers in the store.

They provided me with some helpful hints for sampling the colors for the exterior of our custom home we're building - how large of a sample to paint, how far to stand back and observe, and what I can expect in terms of how light/dark things will look. Back in May 2016, I decided to use Paulson Painting to paint my formal dining room/living room, and…read morea very tall stairwell. For the interior work, I supplied the paint, for I was playing around with different shades, trying to match my couch, and also the faint colors on the wallpaper in the dining room. I was in awe watching Matt use a roller that extended further than I had ever seen before. The line between the accent wall and the wall paper was very straight, as was the ceiling lines, for I had a different paint on the ceiling than on the walls. I used Sherwin Williams Duration paint on the walls, for I was told this was a very good paint that would last for years. They did 2 coats, and waited to do the 2nd coat. A couple of areas one of the painters did where my husband tried to patch up due to settling didn't come out as I expected. After Kevin returned from vacation, he did come out to correct these areas. Since Matt and Andrew did such a good job, I hired this company again for my exterior work in September. (The exterior of my house was painted just 5 years ago, but all the trim was peeling, and I had several boards that were rotted. The company I used back then was out of business.) In September I told Kevin I wanted a job that would last 15 years, for I don't like dealing with the paint selection, nor the cost. My roof is a bit tricky, and I asked Kevin to meet me ahead of time with my current roofer, so the company felt comfortable on the metal roof, without denting it, for they needed to be on the roof to paint the set back 2nd floor. (They used boards that had some time of rubber backing, and thus stood on these boards painting the 2nd story in the front.) We knew 1 fascia board up very high had to be replaced. Once the house painting was underway, more boards were found to be rotted, so these were replaced as well, then primed before painting. Kevin also suggested I have my roofer investigate why the high up fascia board rotted in the first place. Great advice, Kevin. (As it turned out, my flashing around my chimney wasn't done correctly back in 2002.) Kevin also suggested I should have my exposed fascia boards covered with flashing now that all the boards are freshly painted, which I am working with my roofer on.) The exterior of the house took 4 days, with crews from 2 to 5 young men. Again, I requested 2 coats of Sherwin Williams Duration, and Paulson Painting supplied the paint this time. The first coat was sprayed on, then back rolled, and the 2nd coat sprayed. Trim was hand painted, again 2 coats. They covered my plants and picked up after themselves each day. Kevin dropped by 2 times during the 4 days to check on his teams' progress and quality. I thought I might have scratches on my deck from their ladder, but I didn't. They were very careful to not get paint where it shouldn't be. The only thing that could improve was the responsiveness of the office staff (Kevin's wife), who handles the payments, scheduling and inquiries. She is a very nice lady, but hard to get ahold of at times. The real test will be in 2026 and beyond. I hope the paint still looks great then.
