Flavor in every bite During our visit to London, after finding Borough market closed, we stopped at Mallow. And this was a very happy error. From the moment you walk in a great experience starts, even though the restaurant has limited space, the decor makes it perfect to have a meal with friends and even on a date. Additionally, the service, from the hostess to our server, was very friendly and helpful. But the real star of the show was the food. All the dishes that we tried were full of flavor, you just wanted to keep digging and digging for more. You can find dishes that range from a burger to Middle eastern inspired mezze platters. It is also important to add that portions are decent and the large dishes go for around 15-20 pounds. All in all, if you want a well-rounded meal, Mallow is a perfect choice, from an elevated food experience to an excellent atmosphere. My Criteria 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 stars: This restaurant should be closed.

Just come. Perfect Sunday breakfast! Came here because of their delicious looking pancakes on IG. We made a last minute morning reservation, and were running late, but they were still accommodating. We ended up getting the French toast and full English breakfast with some pineapple apple ginger juice. Friendly staff, delicious food and drinks. What else can you ask for.

This is one of the best vegan restaurants I've ever been to. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service was superb, and the food was better than I ever imagined vegan food could be. The chorizo croquettes were incredible, the rosemary sourdough with pine nut butter was delightful, and the chick'n burger was so good that you could hardly tell it wasn't real chicken! I've never had vegan meat with such a perfect crunch on the crust. Seriously, don't leave London without trying this place if you're vegan or vegetarian!!!

Not just "hyped", dishoom deserves the recognition!…read more SERVICE Amazing service, easy to make reservations online, and easy to check in and get seated once your entire party has arrived. INSIDE Spacious, clean, and plenty of seating both upstairs and down. MENU For larger parties, they recommend their prefix menu which includes a various sampling of lots of delicious items. FOOD 10/10 I haven't eaten Indian food much, but was thoroughly impressed. From my mango lassi which was perfectly sweetened and tart to buttered buns, fried okra, black Dahl, garlic naan, and lamb skewers, everything was delicious. I esp loved the lamb skewers! We ordered a side of garlic naan with cheese which is basically a quesadilla and it was super cheesy and delicious as well. OVERALL Would def recommend Dishoom when visiting London. It'll definitely be a hit in your books!

The food was exceptional -- aroma, flavors, spice levels, portions; everything was perfect. While visiting London, a local friend invited me to Dishoom, knowing how much I love Indian cuisine. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon around 5PM, and the place was already packed. They don't take reservations for dinner unless you're a large group, but trust me, the wait is worth it. They have a fantastic bar where you can grab drinks while you wait for a table (they give you buzzers). I tried the Negroni and another tequila-based cocktail (sadly I can't remember the name), and both were phenomenal. Shared plates are definitely the way to go at Dishoom. We ordered the gunpowder potatoes (incredible), an appetizer with potatoes and pineapple (not my favorite; the pineapple threw me off), monkfish curry (amazing), and chicken curry. It was a lot of food for just two of us, but I couldn't stop eating. I seriously wanted to bottle up that sauce! The service was surprisingly impeccable, especially considering how busy they were. We ended up spending about £110 for an incredible dinner, and we nearly couldn't finish everything. Lastly, the ambiance! Inspired by Iranian cafes in India, the atmosphere at Dishoom is eclectic. I loved the dim lighting, unique decor, and the lively pace of the restaurant. Just go!

I love vegetarian restaurants - and love upscale ones even more…read more This is a lame addition to the upscale vegetarian category. Vegetarian cooking is British cooking taken to the highest level. Good ingredients - Simply but Expertly Prepared. Good ingredients are critical and flavor retention in the kitchen is life and death. We did a mixed vegetable soup. (Fancy name - Tuscan soup . Simpler reality - vegetables boiled in a stock and then pureed.) Done right - this is one of the staples of vegetarian comfort food - and places like Planet Organic do terrific versions of the dish. The Carnevale version was tasteless brown stuff with orange flecks. A plate of artichokes (not a fancy one drowning in flavored bread stuffing. The pure up and simple - here is your artichoke - buy a good one and cook it to keep the taste.) The artichokes came out small and tasteless. Admittedly artichokes were not in season when I ate here .... but if this is the case - why are they on the menu? Manchego with quince and biscuits were lovely - but then the kitchen did nothing here. But at least they bought good cheese, quince and biscuits. The room itself shows the same sloppiness of execution that is shown in the cooking. On the night we were there one fluorescent like fixture was broken with the bulb stinking out of the fixture at a 30 degree angle. Packages of napkins were piled up in the dining room for storage as if we were eating in a cleaning goods closet. Yes the place is small and storage is at a premium. But even if one must store goods in the dining room - can't one at least cover it up so it doesn't look like your paper depository? Add to this that the place charges Barbican Banker prices. If I am paying this much for vegetables, please buy good ones - and actually take some care in their preparation - rather than just blasting them through and covering up the results with sauce..

It's so nice to come to a restaurant where I can eat everything. I know that all-veg places can get a bad reputation, but Carnevale will appeal to veggies and omnivores alike. As opposed to trying to imitate meat, the menu is a celebration of plant-based foods in their natural state. I ordered the haloumi kebabs over lentil curry. 13.50 may seem expensive, but the portion size was very large, and it was a quality dish. They also provided free bread - I had olive bread, which was delicious as well. Service was very friendly, although by american standards a little slow. It is nice to be left alone to have uninterrupted conversation, but budget 1.5 hours in total for a meal here to be safe.

We made a reservation through the Redemption website (they're not featured on OpenTable) the day of with no difficulties. The restaurant is small and intimate and was full when we arrived. They do have an outdoor patio, but it wasn't open due to rain. There is also a bar area which seemed to be open seating. I recommend making a reservation as the restaurant seems to be popular. There seemed to be only 2 servers (one of which was also the bartender), so the service was relaxed. If you are in a rush, this may not be your place. However, if you are looking to unwind and enjoy a meal without without feeling like you're being pushed to leave, this is your place. Both servers were very friendly and attentive. My husband and I ordered the flu fighter martini (spicy!) and the mood enhancing mocha. We also ordered the kale crisps as a starter, the buff burger, and the bolognese brown rice penne pasta. The only complaint my husband had was that the burger (made from beetroot and beans) fell apart easily. However the flavors were on point. The bolognese pasta was generous with the mushrooms and sauce. The portions were good for the price. All items had great flavor, were cooked well and filling. I would recommend this restaurants to vegans and non-vegans alike. We will definitely be going back during our time in London.

The soup came with a toasted slice of vegan gluten free bread which I thought was a perfect texture and had plenty of flavor. Note that they are categorized as a restaurant/bar, however despite the fact that there is a bar, they do not serve alcohol. They have mocktails and elixers and non-alcoholic beer. Service was pretty good for London. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
