​1/5 Stars - Incompetent Service, Zero Accountability, and Hostile Customer Service ​Save yourself the headache and take your vehicle anywhere else. My experience with this service department was a complete nightmare from start to finish. ​On Thursday, September 10th, my truck was towed to the dealership at 5:00 PM. Despite their website listing service hours until 7:00 PM, sales staff informed me upon arrival that the service team usually leaves around 4:00 PM. While a sales manager lent us a used vehicle to get home that night, the standard of service plummeted immediately afterward. ​When I returned the borrowed car the next day(Friday), the service department had no loaner vehicle available and couldn't offer any timeline for when one might be provided. When I followed up Saturday morning, September 12th, they gave the last loaner to the customer directly in front of me--still with zero ETA on my truck's repairs. It wasn't until Tuesday, September 15th--nearly five days later--that they finally arranged a rental car for me. ​Nearly two weeks after dropping it off, they called on Wednesday, September 22nd, to say the truck was ready. When I went to pick it up on Thursday, September 23rd, the experience at the service desk was appalling. Staff members were openly rude to each other and to customers. I was snapped at by an employee and told not to talk to the service desk, but to go to the parts counter instead. The parts employee handed over my keys and claimed my truck was parked right outside the bay doors. It wasn't. I spent 10 minutes wandering the lot myself until I found it parked all the way in the back behind the building. ​The repair job itself was an absolute hazard. That very afternoon, as I pulled into my wife's workplace right before 5:00 PM, smoke began pumping out from the engine bay. I called the dealership and spoke with Cole, who mentioned he was essentially the only person there and had no loaners available. With my pregnant wife and me heading to a 6:00 PM appointment, the situation was extremely stressful. While Cole eventually arranged a tow, and a loaner; returning an unsafe vehicle after nearly two weeks of work is unacceptable. ​The following morning, Thursday, September 24th, around 11:00 AM, they called to say the truck was ready again--and abruptly demanded the loaner back by 5:00 PM, completely disregarding that my wife (a school teacher) and I had scheduled prenatal appointments that afternoon. ​When I picked up the truck, their explanation for the engine smoke was that their technicians failed to clean up leaked coolant during the initial repair, which burned off as the engine heated up. They literally sent us out on the road in a vehicle covered in spilled fluid. We had so little faith in their workmanship that we had a friend follow us to our medical appointment just in case the truck broke down again. ​Between the inaccurate hours, hostile staff, disorganization, sloppy workmanship, and total lack of empathy for their customers' schedules, this service department is a complete hazard. The service department for this dealership is the worst I have ever had to deal with. I'm an ex automotive employee as well as my dad and various other relatives. I have probably bought somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 new vehicles in my life. If it wasn't less than a mile from my house, I would never have dealt with them after the first experience. I have had the following experiences with them. - Quoted a price to fix my wife's vehicle - got to the dealership and it was $120 higher. After complaining, the original price was honored - there wasn't anything additionally repaired. - Quoted $600 to replace a gas door - they come in painted - after checking another dealership (30 minutes away) at $250, this dealership matched them. - Current vehicle has been out of alignment since I bought it (I know, mistake) 3 months ago. It has 6500 miles on it. I was charged for re-alignment due to it being normal wear and tear - I hope the front end isn't made out of plastic if it gets out alignment after 6500 miles. Buying a vehicle from this place was a chore also. I get an employee discount, and they acted as though it was something new. I had to pull up a competing dealership offers in order to get just the basic deal I'm qualified for due to the employee discount. This is the first review I have written on any business. If you value your money do not go to this dealership for anything - especially not service. I wish I could rate less than 1 star. read more

Found a great truck! However, the customer service of the sales team is lacking. I understand that scheduling things during the holidays is tricky, but when a salesman leaves, don't let customers fall though the cracks. We ordered running boards, but they weren't ordered by the dealership right away. We asked for a picture of the running boards and were never sent one. The salesman who took over was less than polite and professional. Promised return calls, pictures, and delivery dates. None of it happened. Very disappointed to not get this truck, but it's not worth the hassle. Customer service should still be a priority, not just a way to "make things right." read more

I am thankful to the Malloy service department for saving us from a tough situation. This past Saturday, we found ourselves far from home, hauling a new toy, when we experienced a DEF system issue with our truck which ridiculously curbs your speed to 5 mph after only ~140 miles. No dealerships in the area we were in were open. We took a chance to drive our remaining miles to Charlottesville in search of help from Malloy when they opened. They took us in, helped us locate the part we needed, and after having a relative pick it up and bring it over, they fit us in their schedule to install it. We made it home that night with the toy in tow. I'm very appreciative of their help for what could have been a lengthy and very challenging situation. read more

I have hesitated to write this review, as I have wanted to give this dealership a fair chance. It is a long one, so bear with me. I had a lease on a 2022 Kia Niro that was bought out by Malloy, and I purchased a 2025 Trax. Since my Kia was a lease, it had negative equity and so I added that negative equity on the loan of my Trax. The transaction went well, and all papers were signed and I left with the trax, leaving my Niro on their lot for them to coordinate with Kia finance as to the sale of the vehicle / buyout of the lease TO Malloy Chevy. Fast forward almost 2 months later, I get a call from Kia finance stating my payment was late. A late payment on my credit? On a vehicle I haven't owned for almost 2 months? The finance guy was very friendly and said that they were coordinating with Flow Kia of Charlottesville, and that they had experienced some hiccups in the purchase of the vehicle. He assured me multiple times that if I paid the payment, they would have the issue resolved in 30 days. By this time, my Niro had already been sold to an unsuspecting customer. Malloy overnighted me a check to pay the balance. I called Kia finance two weeks after making this payment to confirm that they had sold the vehicle, to which the representative told me that not only was the vehicle not showing in Kia finances system as sold, but they NOR any Kia dealership had coordinated with Malloy on this situation, as had been previously explained to me. I reached out to Malloys finance manager, who advised me they had sent the check to flow Kia. I said that per Kia finance, no check had been received. Not only that, but I was owing Kia ANOTHER payment, on a vehicle I haven't owned for MONTHS! The finance manager, very friendly, apologized profusely and told me that they would mail another check to pay the remaining balance (which they did). I paid the balance and called Kia finance, confirming that no additional balance was due. Fast forward to FEBRUARY 2025, where I am now receiving texts from Kia finance that my lease has not been returned or sold, and they will be beginning recovery efforts to take the Kia. I DO NOT OWN THIS VEHICLE ANYMORE. I reached out to the finance manager, who is of course no longer with the company, and has passed me off to another person. What a sad scenario that I may possibly end up with a repossession on my credit, and an UNSUSPECTING purchaser of my Niro may end up without a vehicle. All because of this dealership's negligence. In my opinion, once paperwork is signed to transfer ownership of the vehicle, I should not have to take care of anything else financially or through my credit on a vehicle that I don't own. I certainly hope this dealership contacts me soon to resolve this, as it is a tragic situation in multiple ways. read more
