Even with an appointment I waited two hours just for a diagnostic. No other work was done. Won't be going back to have the work done.

Posted on behalf of my dad and his wife:…read more My husband and I tested various makes and models for ease of getting in and out of a car since he is wheelchair-bound. At CMA's Valley Subaru in Staunton, VA, we not only found the Forester to have the optimal clearance and height and all-around accessibility, but also recognized this dealership took our needs to heart. Sales specialist Remy Duguet was well-versed in Subaru's reliability and safety record. Given his knowledge of each model's specs, he made it easier to decide which best met our needs, going out of his way time and again to ensure the Forester would work for us. He was responsible and followed up at every turn. We highly recommend Remy and believe he reflects the Subaru culture and values as does the dealership. This has been a very positive car purchase and trade-in experience.

After looking &…read moretest driving a 2026 Outback Touring XT in Crimson Red Pearl, I started contacting local Subaru dealerships, including Valley to get the most competitive price. I specifically said in the emails that we want the Touring XT in Red Pearl, no deviations. I told Lucas what I'm offering to pay out the door and he stated that he couldn't do it, which is understandable. I told him if anything changes for him to let me know. The next day, I received an email from their general manager, Charles Camp, and he said that he will accept my offer for the Outback, except he deliberately tried to switch the model to the Limited XT, NOT the Touring XT that I wanted. Needless to say, the Limited XT is a lower grade Outback from the Touring XT, yet he attempted to sell me a cheaper, lower grade vehicle. It is actions like this that give auto dealerships a terrible reputation, and the terrible reputation is Justified!

My mother's relatively new Buick under extended warranty from GMC was towed here when it was having…read moreissues starting. The warranty company requires it go to a licensed GMC/Buick dealer and this is closer than towing to Roanoke so, this was the place. My mom didn't read any reviews (of which there are loads of bad ones and BBB complaints against this dealership/service department). My mother was assured this should be under warranty and within a day they told her it was a bad fuel injector after they ran tests/diagnostics. She was at my house visiting during this phone call and asked if they should replace the other two as well. Her service tech said no, warranty wouldn't cover it usually and only one was bad. So, done. Warranty agreed to pay for this. A few days later (after weekend) - she gets a call with "bad news" from them. They test drove it and it was still having issues... so they were going to tear it back down and ensure they didn't "do something wrong". No mention of costs, labor charges, etc. They call back and tell her a second fuel injector has now failed and would need to be replaced. They would contact warranty company. Ok. Now, the warranty company does agree not only to replace another injector, but also the third one too. Just in case. Counter to the initial information my mom was given. Seems they didn't ask the warranty company up front who very well may have agreed to replace them to save duplicate labor costs - which is exactly where we ended up. They also never gave her a quote for the cost before doing any of this, bc they planned to fleece the warranty company. So, my mom didn't get the luxury of saying, no before they had her car taken fully apart and told her she owed $1300 in labor. That came AFTER that had already happened. So the sequence was out of order here. Here is the main problem: their position is that this was a completely new issue and that this fuel injector failed ONLY when they tore it back down. Not that it was also bad when they initially only replaced the one the first time and billed her warranty for $1600 in labor. Sounds fishy to me considering when they tested it after the fix, it didn't work. So they did not in fact, fix the issue and they are in fact, at fault for missing it. The math ain't mathing. So, they planned to make labor fees off the warranty company for replacing a fuel injector - then charged my mom FOR THE EXACT SAME THING AGAIN, saying this was a new issue and it wasn't bad when they first tested it. She never started the car, sat in it, or drove it after dropping it off there to be worked on. How can any reasonable person believe, that this second fuel injector just happened to go wrong at the exact moment the replaced the first one and was perfectly fine and my mom needs to pay them another $1600 in labor, not that they missed it? Additionally, wouldn't any reputable service department at least consider that and not charge her FULL price for something that is most likely their mistake? Yeah, not this place. They were rude and dismissive to her when she became upset over this. I called and had a more nuanced conversation with Ben where he admitted "probably" the fuel injector was already broken but since it didn't "throw a code" they didn't know for sure, but yes, it was likely but wasn't their fault. My mom spoke to the service manager, Cliff, who appeared dismissive on the phone and essentially told her unless she paid it she'd never get her car back and refused to do anything about reducing the labor charges. I have to say - I am extremely unimpressed and my mom, who doesn't make a ton of money, is really upset about these charges. They are saying this is a warranty issue and blaming the company - I see it more as them trying to bulk up their fees by double-charging for an issue they failed to find on the first go-round and should've eaten. No reasonable person would think they didn't miss this issue - at the very least they should've taken half the cost off and not charged my mother $1600 for labor and also the warranty company for replacing the exact same part (fuel injectors) on her car within days when she never even picked it up and drove it off the lot the first time. The warranty company denied a double-charge, just like medical insurance does when a doctor double-bills you. Shameful. I wouldn't bring a vehicle here if I had any other option on Earth. There is a real lack of integrity here and it's plainly obvious.

As its an older vehicle, the only parts we were told they could get last year were refurbished but should be good as new but the warranty would only be for a year as the parts were refurbished!! So, we called Paul O'Baugh Ford in Staunton, VA where it had been replaced last year and were able to bring the vehicle back in. As it was just under a year when we brought it in, the parts department assured us they would "take a look at it" and see what it needed. I received a call from the service dept. telling me that apparently the parts had failed and the car need a new a/c compressor, dryer, etc. and everything needed to be redone from the previous year. I was told that even though it was still under warranty that it would cost $300 for "parts deductible, labor and such". As I didn't feel I had any choice but to get it done, I gave the ok. When we picked up the vehicle and asked about any kind of warranty, we were told, that's it, its been done and if anything happens, basically "too bad"!. Not exactly what you want to hear after such a negative experience with the previous years repairs. An extremely disappointing experience and not what you expect from a Ford Dealership. We have taken several vehicles over the years to this Dealership for repairs but "Never Again". Clearly, they don't care about the customer or the Ford name. Marilyn K

We sold it back to them in 2017 and paid them for another vehicle a 2009 Subaru Forester. The transmission had a complete failure and required to be replaced not even rebuilt, less than 30 days later. The powertrain warranty left us still paying $1000.00 to replace it. During the time it took to diagnose I was unable to ever get a hold of Scott, who Donna insisted made all purchase and mechanical decisions, but was "at auction" or off any days and times we called or were there to speak with him as Donna could not make any decision about assisting us or the questions we had about how they would help with our second purchase from them with no way to drive it. Donna even went as far as to tell me they had been closed on a business day they agreed to call us back but having called from an unknown number that was revealed to be untrue as the gentlemen who answered gave us their hours of operation but repeated that Scott was unavailable. We currently have their loaner white 2003 Tahoe listed at $6,999 sitting in our driveway that also didn't run for us to use. We returned it mid need, my husband listed the issues he knew aside from it being very far out of oil change, low coolant light on, brake and head lights out, and a bad front passenger tire. After picking it back up after it had been to Merchants for...something We found the same issues aside from the headlight fixed and the service engine soon light was now on. Shortly after that we were unable to get it back to them and once notified it is still here because Scott is inevitably unavailable. I had a great experience with Chastity and recommend her but Donna and Scott gave us the run around for a very long 2 weeks now. We had prepared to spend more money to replace our other car with them but after having the Subaru be a loss not even 30 days into our purchase this has put our family of 5 in a very poor position. I felt swindled by them. They knew the circumstances and strain this has put on us but have a lack of duty to their customers. We have remained calm, however frustrated and do not plan to ever purchase from or recommend them again.
