This place is a must whether you're a local or a tourist motoring through! We got the tip from the ladies at the local gas station along with polite directions (this hoosier didn't know which way was south). The little red, unassuming building houses the best of home cooking you could ever want, with a hefty dose of Oklahoma charm. We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped through the door, greeted as if we'd been there a hundred times before. Even the waitresses who weren't our server were attentive. Yes, we had our adorable ham of a son with us, but still. Just lovely service. Now, the FOOOOOOD!!! I had the Ham Special which consisted of two thick slices of ham, three eggs, I had over-medium, a biscuit a gravy, and hash browns. I took our server's recommendation and chose hashed over home fries, crispy outside, soft inside. We shared a side of bacon, some of the best I've ever had. My husband had the Mama's Scramble and loved it. Our son had just a bit of mashed potatoes, real and creamy. I wish I could try a little of everything! We tend to travel the country quite a bit and I must say, the next time we're in OKC I'll make sure we take the back roads just so we can stop here again. Just wonderful! read more

We came in an hour before closing and was looking for breakfast. We sat at the counter because they were pretty busy and we like to take our time to eat. This gave us an applet unity to also see how the staff react towards the end of shift. Not only was the food great the staff continued to stay up beat and positive, even when people were coming in 10 before close. Had a great breakfast!! The biscuits are the real deal. Love the ham steak breakfast and home fries. Hubby had the mama carol special- was delicious too! Probably the best fried pork chops you'll ever find. Pancakes are massive, don't get a double stack unless you are inviting diabetes to come spend time with you. Depends on who you get serving you and what kind of mood they are in, as to how friendly they are. But, service is pretty quick and always right. When I get a chance to stop by, I always do. Quick, attentive service in this classic mom-and-pop diner. One of the largest, obviously hand-breaded chicken fried steaks I've ever seen (and eaten)! Fresh cut French fries, pinto beans, a dinner roll and a nice sized, fresh crispy and cold salad washed down with sweet tea. A recipe for a tasty, filling dinner. Reasonably priced, especially given the serving size of that monster steak! My only complaint....they were totally out of pie at 5:30. I didn't need it but sure wanted to finish off dinner with dessert. Based on the waitresses response when I asked, I'd guess they normally have some pie left for dinner...but not so today. Really good food and service was excellent!! Every time we come here each thing we've tried has been good. If your in the mood for good country cooking this is definitely the place. Breakfast is always good! Lunch items here are good and homemade pies were the best I've had in this area. Portions vs price is on point. The dining area isn't that big so you may have to wait for a table but it's never a long wait and it's definitely worth it. It was midmorning on a Sunday when we were passing through, breakfast was on our mind as we had hit the road early and had not eaten. A quick check of the yelp app showed that Mama Carol's Kitchen was a well loved eatery. I'll have to agree it's well loved, when we walked in I didn't think we would find a seat. There were 2 seats open at the "bar" and we slid into them and were greeted with a smile by one of the wait staff. We had coffee and water almost as quick as we ordered I and our order was taken and placed just as quickly. Our meal was delivered quickly as well; the food was hot and plentiful. One of the better breakfasts we have had on the road. Good enough that we'll plan our trips through Chickasha to include a stop for a meal! read more

I use to work there when Carol 1st built it & see was very particular about have food was prepared and depressed made pies everyday. I am eaten there several times since it has changed hands and the dude is just as good as it was when Carol owned it and the pies are delish. It was my b'day n first time to visit. This was a great find. The wife n I ordered the chicken fried steak (small) n it was the perfect size for our appetites. I was in Chickasha on Wednesday and I was looking for something good to eat lunch and I wasn't sure what I was in the mood for so I went to a local diner and boy of boy was I seriously impressed with the friendliness of the staff and not just my waitress but all of them and not to mention they were all gorgeous. On challenge from an old friend to find some "Red-topped Stew," I googled the term and discovered that this is available at Mama Carol's Kitchen in Chickasha OK. Since I was planning to travel to Oklahoma for the holidays, I planned the route to go through Chickasha to get some of this Red-topped Stew. It is a "seasonal" item, but (being winter) it was "in season" when we went. Red-topped Stew is a vegetable (or vegetable beef) stew, topped with chili, simple as that! It appears to have been entirely made from scratch, and you can have this with either crackers of cornbread muffins. I recommend the cornbread muffins. We had ours with a giant iced tea. We considered desert, but were way too full. It was delicious. In addition, Mama Carol's has a comprehensive breakfast menu, and plenty of other classic diner/cafe menu items. It might be that I'd never heard of red-topped stew before because most places that would offer it are likely to have chicken fried steak on the menu, and I do love me some chicken fried steak. Well, now I also love me some red-topped stew! So. If you're ever driving through Oklahoma, consider veering off the beaten path and make your way over to Chickasha, and look for Mama Carol's Kitchen. I suspect you'll be glad you did. Goodness, I didn't even mention how FRIENDLY everyone was! Or the very amusing t-shirts all the staff wore - "Real Men Eat at Mama Carol's Kitchen," for example, or "Syrup Happens" and "It's all Gravy at Mama Carol's Kitchen," and so on. Best blueberry pancake I've ever had; my wife's pecan waffle was excellent - and they aren't afraid to give you enough butter! Looked like a favorite for the locals. The food was really good and the staff were really attentive to our needs, we came with a group of 10 people from Oklahoma City for the Christmas lights and even though we had to wait awhile for a table because of the size of our group we still had a good time.
