Staff are very patient and friendly -- there were the 2 owners and 2 other staff. So all the customers were well taken care of. The restaurant was packed. It's small only a few tables. My friend and I grabbed a seat at the high top table. Their menu was larger than expected for a cafe! Quite a lot of options for sandwiches. We both tried the Breakfast Sandwich -- it's a croissant panini-grilled with 2 poached eggs, cheese, hash brown and choice of bacon or sausage. It was satisfying without being too greasy or oily. I had a regular drip coffee with cream. It was ok! They do have a small coffee menu. Not alternative dairy. Lastly, we tried the Borsch soup! When we learned the owners were Polish, we knew that we had to try the Polish items on the menu. The Borscht was light and fragrant. Loved it so much, we bought a container from their to-go fridge! Apparently this location is a laptop free zone, offering an incredibly welcome oasis from the hustle and bustle of financial district. Today I ordered a cortado. Before you even drink it, the fragrant coffee smell hits you. A bit sweet and almost fruity. When drinking it, the flavours amplify and provide an overall sense of calm, a breath of fresh air. It doesn't just feel like a regular old coffee but that you can take your time with it, like having a conversation with an old friend, it is meant to be savoured.
