Italian with house Italian dressing on the side ($1.50 extra)
    Dawna G.

$27 for two sandwiches. Granted, we ordered one with a side of (cold limp) fries instead of the included chips- which honestly would've probably been better. The chicken sandwich was okay- their "hot" is definitely much hotter than most other pizza places in the area (I like it this way- just as a word of caution). The Italian (pictured) barely had any meat on it at all. The side of dressing was $1.50 extra. I don't mind paying for good food, but in my opinion, this was not that. Overall, edible but severely lacking.

We were visiting Penn State Altoona and passed by this resaturant that was very busy so we pulled in. The restaurant had lots of seating and TVs (almost like a sports bar diner). The interior was clean and looked like it was recently remodeled. We were seated immediately and service was great. The menu was that of your typical small italian pizza/restaurant joint. I went with the italian sub which was nice and fresh but heavy on the pepperoni. My son tried the regular stromboli (ham & pepp) which he liked but thought it was greasy. We also got a side of fries (frozen bag type) that were piping hot and quickly devoured. Everything was good but nothing blew us away. Good for a quick lunch stop or those visiting the Campus. We plan to visit again to try out some other options.

I hit Mama Randazzo's on a family road trip recently. We were seeing some PA sights and finding hidden treasures with an overnight in Altoona. Hotel staff recommended Mama Randazzo's as THE best in Altoona. Hungry for pasta we took the advice. No kidding - this place was seriously delicious. We all ordered various forms of pasta - with meatball and without. We had one full blooded Italian in the party to ensure we were objective, and after much slurping of noodles and stuffing of meatballs into our mouths we knew we had truly eaten in Altoona's finest. Arguably the best Spaghetti and Meatballs I have had in a long long time. Whatever your current situation you have to go there or get take out. I can only hope I make it back soon to have more.

Stopped here while in the area to continue a tour of Altoona's Italy. More of a college town-style eat-in restaurant - looked like they had a bar in the back. We sat up front near the door and ordered bruschetta. This was more the traditional speed of bruschetta I am used to - along with a mound of grated cheese on top of it. Decent taste. For an entree - I ordered the chicken parm which was really large and accompanied by spaghetti. The sauce was more of a thick sauce that had a sweet tang on the back end of the taste - straight off the vine traditional taste. For dessert went with the cheesecake adding chocolate drizzle. Tasted good. Would come here again - maybe try the pizza.

It's a small spot tucked right in the middle of the block off 17th Street in Altoona. Don't let the location fool you--it's worth every bit of the drive. My wife, our three teens, and a longtime friend joined me for dinner. We started with the drunken mushrooms as an appetizer, and even though I'm not usually a big mushroom guy, these were absolutely phenomenal--packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. We also tried the chef's special tomatoes and mozzarella in a balsamic vinaigrette, which was fresh and delicious. Everyone ordered different entrees, including a crab cake, encrusted chicken with vegetables, and shrimp Alfredo. Every single dish was outstanding. My crab cake was one of the best I've ever had--loaded with crab and seasoned just right. Nothing was heavy or overly sauced; it all tasted fresh and high-quality. To top it off, they brought out a dessert tray with multiple made-fresh options. My wife also had a freshly made cappuccino that she really enjoyed. The wait staff was attentive, polite, and genuinely friendly the whole night. Amigh even stopped by our table to check in and make sure we were having a great evening. If you're craving a really solid, high-quality Italian meal without any fuss, do yourself a favor and check out Finelli's Italian Villa. We left completely satisfied and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Everyone really enjoyed their various sandwiches, and I especially enjoyed my wrap! It had quite a nice spicy kick! And a good ratio of chicken to sauce. I also enjoyed the additional veggies which added that perfect hint of crunch and freshness! Went to pick up our order and got a chance to look inside the restaurant. It was a really nice spot! I wasn't in there for very long but from what I could see it was clean and well taken care of. Unfortunately as I was picking up my order I lost something in the parking lot and didn't realize it until about two hours later. When I called and asked they were super kind and helpful about it and I was able to go and pick it up. The employees were super helpful and kind in this situation! This would definitely be nice place to go with family or friends or even to pick of a to go lunch for work. Nice place overall!

Now the food... We started with the Drunken Mushrooms, and let me tell you, they were earthy, wine-kissed perfection. I skipped the garlic bread and just went full fork-to-fungus. No regrets. Next up: the homemade gnocchi with a meatball. Loved the meatball--meaty and not weighed down by breadcrumbs. The gnocchi was a little denser (which I like!), and it all just felt lovingly made. The Baked Haddock was fresh, light, and bathed in a lemon-wine sauce that made me want to go in for seconds... if I wasn't already full. But dessert called. We split the coconut cake, and it was gorgeous. Light, fluffy, with just a whisper of anise (which isn't my fave, but my mom was over the moon about it).
