Mama's Diner was a solid find. I had heard about their chicken and waffles while I was at work, and since I happened to be right across the street, I had to try it. The atmosphere was really nice with a cozy, laid-back vibe, though it is a small space and the booths are open, so expect people passing close by. Cashier Lady is pretty nice over the phone but when you arrive it definitely feels like they're rushing to get your money not knowing if your order is completed yet. Had two issues where I came and told them my order. They said it was done coming right up. I paid and they had me standing there for 10 minutes. The food definitely delivered--chicken breast cooked perfectly and the waffles were on point. Portions felt a little small for the price, but the flavor made up for it. I arrived around 2:23 I was aware they would be closing soon but I'm a truck driver and I really wanted breakfast before leaving the area Now for my review this is my first time here I walked in with me and my lady and wasn't greeted by anyone. The food took about 15 minutes to come out. I drank the tea although it was flat and sour tasting and asked for a refill while I waited for the food. They gave me another tea charged me for it and said they don't do refills. They food came out my total for the two plates and 3 drinks was just under $50 bucks. We left,I started driving my truck and was excited to dig in until I found out they provided no syrup no butter or anything. I'm not from Phili but I thought if someone orders waffles and French toast from a breakfast place they may most likely would want syrup or butter. The food was okay it's an Asian spin on a soulful breakfast although I didn't notice any p.o.c operating the establishment we won't call it cultural appropriation lol The waffle was mid the bacon was rubbery the eggs were great the French toast was chewy it was all kinda dry without the syrup. Mama's was a nice surprise. Not your average diner. The ambiance inside was very welcoming and quaint. The service was great. We were greeted right away. We ordered our food and it didn't take long to come out. My husband and I took full advantage while our kids were in school on a Friday morning. It was busy but was a constantly flow. It's a smaller place and didn't feel crowded at anytime we were there. My husband ordered French Toast and a Sausage egg and cheese sandwich. I ordered a steak omelet with veggies. Everything came out hot and we enjoyed it. My favorite was the hot tea, they have different options of flavors that most diners don't have. I had a ginger honey tea. It was really good. The place is relatively small, but they keep customers flowing in and out and are consistently packed even on a Tuesday morning! The customer service was great. Literally anything you needed there was a button on the table and a waitress would come by to help. My first visit and definitely it my last. A group of approximately 20 ladies dined at Mama's on a Saturday morning. From the the time we walked in to the dine we left, the staff was fantastic. The promptly took our beverage order followed by our food order. The food came out hot and in a timely manner. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out Candy 5; the robot assistant. Candy 5 played a few variations of the birthday song and just added to the spirit of the group. Mama graciously agreed to take a few group pictures for us and even danced while we sang the birthday song. In order scrambled egg whites, Belgium waffles, and turkey sausage links. The food was delicious, and I washed it down with hot green tea. Some of the ladies in our group are frequent diners and they enjoy the fish and grits . So that will be my meal next time. read more

It's so location is really lowkey and unassuming, but why you step inside it is beautiful. They had this really cute butler robot to help with servicing tables. Very warm and welcoming. We stopped into Mama's diner with the family after church. It's such a cute and cozy spot! I started out with a peach Arnold Palmer. It was so good! For my entree I got the fish and grits. It was very good. My husband got the chicken and waffles, but opted to get wings instead of the breast that typically comes with the dish! Omg! That chicken is so yummy! It was crunchy and coated with a delicious sweet and spicy sauce. My father got French toast with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. My mom got salmon cakes and grits. Needless to say, my fork traveled around the table and everything I ate was good! The servers were prompt and kind. As soon as we went in I was impressed by how nice the restauraunt was with the trendy design and friendly vibe. The service was attentive and friendly which helped for a good experience, just in case they missed you there is a button on the table to call someone to the table. I was told to order the chicken wings and they didn't disappoint, they were amazing. My other relatives at the table also agreed how amazing they were. I am so thankful that this restaurant came up as a sponsored restaurant on Uber Eats. I saw that the estimated delivery time was only 15 minutes and not too far from my house, so I decided to give it a try! I ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak Combo with french fries, provolone cheese, and fried onions. I also ordered the Mango Raspberry Lemonade. The food was made and already on its way SUPER quickly which I was impressed by. When I received the food, my drink was in an adorable small bag which perfectly fit the drink, and it even had a tamper-free seal on top! When I opened my bag, I saw a cute little note from the restaurant thanking me for ordering (and it had my name which made it even more personal, so lovely!) I also was given a complimentary fruit cup which I didn't realize I was receiving which was great! Now let's talk about the food: The Mango Raspberry Lemonade was absolutely delicious! I at first was a little nervous because the picture on Uber Eats makes it appear more red (perhaps predominantly raspberry), but my drink was more orange (more predominantly mango). But it tastes absolutely delicious and I love that there's no pulp or pieces of floating fruit inside. The chicken cheesesteak was the BEST chicken cheesesteak I've ever had (not even exaggerating). We love Korean food including the breakfast spots we have tried before. We came around noon today and noticed immediately how busy they were. We're foodies and love trying a variety of items so we ordered: Chicken cheesesteak $9.50, mayo and onions and it came out different than other cheesesteaks we've eaten but was still good, we found it tasty and chicken was cooked well, we would get this again, and would recommend it as well. Definitely better than American diner versions. Pancake 2 stack $4.75 cake with pre packaged butter and they ended up being buttermilk pancakes, moist and way better than store bought boxed versions. Western omelettte home fries with grits $9.75 the western omelette was okay the egg itself didn't have flavor, and the items inside were cooked right in terms of moistness but I think the seasoning could've been better. The grits were my favorite part of this actually they were just the right amount of buttery. Wheat toast was good as well not hard but just right. We didn't have to wait long for our meals maybe 15 minutes but not long enough to complain. They had about 6 ppl in the kitchen and 2 at behind the counter then the older woman taking our order. I would say it's a pet peeve of places to really prioritize cash over credit and it feels like a punishment almost in which case at this place it was, with a 3% fee if you use credit cards. Mama's Diner in Cheltenham, PA, is a Korean run breakfast and lunch house that is strictly Take Out at the present time, but hopefully will return to full table service as soon as the Covid coast is clear. The menu has all the usual American fare, although I did see a rice cooker on a back table suggesting more Asian variety was possible on an extended list of specials. In fact, this is more a luncheonette, with a small shelf with stools along the front window and part of one wall, but mostly tables and booths. It all appears quite cozy. There are two people taking orders, cashiering and packaging the orders, and another three or four cooks working the hot steel. It all seems quite efficiently run. I ordered a Short Stack French Toast with Bacon (choice of pork, beef or turkey), and tall Java. It was all still warm and tasty when I reached the office. The bread was adequately saturated with an egg, sugar, vanilla slurry, and grilled enough to caramelize the edges to a pleasant crisp. Powdered sugar and melted butter were a nice finish. The Lacas Coffee was strong enough to make my morning complete. I enjoyed everything, but must note that the corn syrup sweetener that passes as syrup is not healthy for most people and an alternative should be found even at extra cost. Too, as soon as it is possible to safely seat customers, they should do so, as the room definitely adds ambiance to the meal. read more

I felt rushed to order and was offered a stool crowded by tables with chairs turned upside down and other restaurant furniture seated by a bar top near a big window.
