I stopped by Caphe Roasters with a few friends after seeing it all over social media. The place was definitely living up to the hype--the line was literally out the door when we arrived. It ended up taking about 45 minutes just to place our order, although the drinks themselves came out in around 10 minutes once we ordered. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the egg foam coffee, which was the item I was most excited to try. Instead, I ordered the Salted Brûlée Cà Phê, and it was excellent. The coffee was rich, flavorful, and tasted like a truly authentic Vietnamese iced coffee. Easily one of the better cà phê drinks I've had. The interior is beautifully designed with plenty of seating, and it seemed like a great place to hang out and catch up with friends. We would have stayed longer, but the wait took up most of our available time. Their snack menu also looked really unique, and I'd love to come back to try some of those items. A couple downsides: parking was a challenge since it's mostly street parking, and the location is a bit out of the way from Center City. It's not the easiest place to get to unless you're driving. Overall, the drinks were very good and the space was welcoming, but I don't think the experience was worth a nearly hour-long wait. I'd definitely consider coming back once the hype settles down a bit, because the coffee itself was worth trying.
Loved the vibe at Cáphê Roasters, from the friendly customers in the line that remained out-the-door for the hour we were there, to the book nook featuring brown and black authors to the staff working seamlessly to turn out delicious food and drinks! The Salted Caramel Brûlée coffee was deep'n'rich. Both the OG and fried chicken bánh mì were satisfyingly crisp on the outside and flavorful on the inside. And the Mala fries stayed crispy longer than any loaded fries I've ever had, with a satisfying hint of heat--fried eggs make everything better! Come a bit before you're hangry with someone you want to chat with and you'll have a great experience!
Wow, this place gets BUSY ever since they went viral on TikTok and Instagram. On weekends especially, the line genuinely never seems to slow down, so definitely expect a wait for both food and drinks. That being said, the team really does their best to get everything out as quickly as possible despite how packed it gets. Finding a table on weekends can also be pretty difficult, so I'd keep that in mind before going. As for the actual food and drinks, I've enjoyed most of the drinks I've tried here. I also love that they're always coming out with seasonal drinks and food specials, which keeps the menu fun and interesting. Definitely worth keeping up with their Instagram for updates. For the food though, there were a couple things I personally probably wouldn't order again. The J St Sando didn't have much flavor in my opinion, and the OG banh mi just wasn't anything particularly special to me. However, the tamarind fries and the gochujang fried chicken banh mi were delicious!! Those were definitely the standouts for me and what I'd come back for. Overall still a really fun spot with great energy and creative menu items.
If you love bold coffee and flavorful bites, Caphe Roasters is a MUST try. Tucked in a residential area (so yes, parking can be a little tricky), but trust me... it's worth it. We got lucky and found a spot, and once you walk in, the vibe is instantly a win. Spacious seating, Wi-Fi, and you can actually see them roasting the beans. Now let's get into the FOOD + COFFEE... We ordered the Salted Brulee CaPhe: Vietnamese salted coffee. Strong and balanced. Coffee is topped w/ a salted cream cold foam and torched brown sugar that you can only order iced. It's Strong. Sweet. Smooth. This Vietnamese coffee does NOT play!!! Whew! it's bold with a rich flavor that hits just right. If you love strong coffee, you're going to be hooked. Sunny's Hot Sando. Oh my This right here!! Made with a honey hot chili oil aioli using their house made chili oil packed with flavor and just the right heat. The eggs were soft, fluffy, and cooked perfectly, and everything just came together so well. Paired with that coffee!! Taste buds activated!!! They also have fries and a variety of Vietnamese eats, plus you can grab their chili oil to take home. yes, it's that good!! Service was good, friendly and smooth. Overall: Flavor, vibe, experience was great. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to try more.
Finally was in the area when they're open and stopped in! Unfortunately it was packed and had no seating, so we could only get takeout coffees. And they sold out of several of their specialty drinks. I was especially interested in the egg coffee, but sadly they ran out. Was able to get a regular cafe sua da and a salted brûlée coffee. The cafe sua da was a bit too sweet while the salted brûlée was perfect. The staff highly recommended their food which I'll have to try next time! that mixed porridge looks so good!
Been meaning to try for a long time. Decided to host a book club with my friends and it was good decision. The line was out the door at 11am, but we managed to snag a table. We waited about 20 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for our food to be ready. It wasn't too noisy and we were able to talk amongst ourselves. I got the Sunny hot sando and the OG Bahn mi and tamarind fries to go. I probably wouldn't get the sando again, I don't think the baguette is the best choice for a breakfast sandwich. The Bahn mi and fries were really tasty. I'll need to get a drink next time - I will be back!
Every single time I come here, they knock it our of the park. My favorite banh mi in town, great porridge. The specials are always interesting, so it's hard to choose what to order. The folks who work here always seem like the coolest kids in school and I feel a bit intimidated. But they are always nice. The drinls are good, but go hungry and have a meal here, too. You won't regret it.
Came in a few minutes after they opened at 8am on a Saturday morning and there were already a few people inside. Their menu items are unique and flavors are all things that I love. I just had to get their pandan banana pudding matcha and it was amazing! I was visiting from NYC and I wish there was a Càphê Roasters in NYC! 100% they would do so well. It would be a trendy spot for sure. But from the looks of it, it seems to be family owned. They have photos of family/friends and childhood photos framed throughout the café. Super cute and gives it a really warm, homey vibe. Since it was early morning, I just wanted a drink. But on my next visit, I will for sure try their food items which also have rave reviews!
This is a regular haunt for me at this point. Love coming in the mornings while the place is a bit emptier and enjoying their breakfast sandos with some morning reading and quiet time. Parking is a bit difficult on adjacent streets, but usually there's a few spaces on Ontario. The vibe and environment here is **chef's kiss**. Feels like my Asian aunt from Philly's living room, if I ever had an Asian aunt from Philly. I feel right at home. Drinks and sandos are all on point. Some might balk slightly at the price, but granted you stay long enough, part of the price is enjoying an extended time in their cafe. There's good outlet, counter, large table, even couch seating available for all kinds of conversations and deep working. Wi-fi is solid too! Staff are friendly too! While we knew a person who worked here we were able to get a drink or two on the house every time we came, so it's definitely worth it to try to become a regular at this place.
Oh this place lives up to the hype and then some. Came here on a Sunday with a friend and lucky us, we beat the rush crowd and got quick and easy service before grabbing the final seat. This place is POPPING so be ready to wait in line. We tried their drinks and breakfast sandos and wow *chefs kiss* absolutely delicious and filling. I was already day dreaming about returning by the time I left an hour later. I'm also obsessed with the branding; the red in the design is soo good and the interior look is fire.
Super busy! Longgggg line to the door and barely any seating! I came alone so was okay sharing space on a couch but if you come in a group, you might have more trouble! Also I found street parking on the side of the building yay Sunny Sando: baguette was chefs kiss. Lap xuong is chefs kiss as always. The egg is super fluffy and yum. And with their cheese/sauce + chili oil it was yummmmm. Yayy!!!!! I liked it a lot. Jasmine matcha latte: yum!!! Def taste the Jasmine. It's very very sweet, basically old Starbucks matcha lattes sweet. If you're tryna actually taste matcha or appreciate it, I would not recommend. Tamarind fries: fries were good! Tamarind salt was good. Together was okay LOL. Unique enough to try once I guess.

Cute little Vietnamese coffee shop! They have various Viet coffee and banh mi, but they also serve matcha. Ordered: - Mango Milk Coconut Matcha (July 2026 Special) - Housemade mango syrup, your choice of milk, matcha, coconut cold foam (only iced) - Well balance. I was worried the coconut might overpower the matcha but it didn't. According to their website it looks like their matcha is from Junbi. Visited a couple of times while I was living in Philly, from what I remember their banh mi were also pretty good. Pretty good place to study/work as well, they have two large table, a handful of small tables, and a bar section. On my recent visit in July 2026 it looks like they limit their wifi to 2 hours on the weekends and 4 hours on weekdays (sad to see since I don't remember this being a thing a couple years ago, but makes sense because they seem to be a lot busier now). read more
came back to philly again so i had to come to caphe roasters! it was just as good as i remembered, i got the matcha float and the salted brûlée coffee. everything was so delicious. i will miss this when i go back to socal :,( read more

There is no reason for me to be in Kensingston except for Càphê Roasters! Went all the way from Society Hill to J street for their Pandan Banana Matcha Latte and it was so worth it! My only gripe is that I never get there early enough to grab one of their sunnier tables - but one day! read more
Great spot in Philly, especially for a relaxing morning coffee break. I had the Vietnamese egg coffee and it was absolutely delicious -- rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The banh mis here have their own unique twist -- not quite the traditional version you'd find in Vietnam, but with a fun, flavorful flair that really works. The space itself is large, bright, and super clean with plenty of seating, making it a great place to hang out or catch up with friends. Service was friendly and attentive. We even celebrated my friend's birthday with some ice cream, and everything was fantastic. Would definitely come back again, a hidden gem for coffee and Vietnamese bites in Philly! read more
Absolutely worth the hype and I'll be back again and again. The cafe space is beautiful and large (though still gets very crowded), the drinks are innovative and delicious, and all the food is very good. Be warned though, the viet coffee is STRONG! Coffee has never had any effect on me, but I had the jasmine viet coffee and was more caffeinated than I thought was ever possible. It was so good that I'd say it was worth it, but clear the rest of your day to sprint in circles for hours on end... read more

DRINKS Caphe Roasters is the BEST coffee shop/cafe I have ever visited, and I simply cannot get enough of it. I'm sad it's a bit of a ways away from Center City, but somewhat glad since I would visit here nonstop otherwise. Jasmine Matcha: A fall menu item, that is THE BEST matcha drink I have ever had. The sweet notes of the jasmine compliments the nuttier matcha well. 12/10 Salted Brulee Ca Phe: A permanent menu item. You truly cannot go wrong choosing this item. The salt compliments the sweetness of the condensed milk and the bitterness of the coffee perfectly. 10/10 FOOD We had their fries, tiramisu, and J St. Sando with an added cutlet. The fries were spectacular, crispy not soggy, and the texture was a little jagged for extra surface area when frying. It's a great addition to the table when sharing with friends! 10/10 The tiramisu was to die for-- not too sweet, creamy but not too heavy, and so much more. It's only here for the fall menu, but I hope it stays on the permanent one! 12/10 Finally, a friend recommended the J St. Sando with an added cutlet. It's so savory, doesn't get soggy, and the crisp of the cutlet adds a nice contrast in texture to the eggs. 10/10. SERVICE The staff are incredibly kind and sweet! They have a great relationship with regulars, and it's clear they love what they do. AMBIANCE Ample seating is available inside the store, but they fill up quickly. There are about 2 tables for 4-6, ~5 tables for 2, and then a sofa/swivel chairs for a cozier time with friends. It's a great spot to catch up with friends or to work/study. Complimentary wi-fi is available, and the restrooms are clean and tidy. PARKING Limited parking is available on the sides and front of the store. read more

5 out of 5! A successful local Vietnamese coffee shop that has won a place in my heart as my favorite coffee shop ever. This place is run with a lot of love. Some of the best lattes I've ever had. We love the egg drop coffee, and the crème brûlée! The space is open and airy and feels updated without being too trendy. Service was quick and friendly. I can't wait until the next time I'm able to come back! read more
4.5* Really really good coffee and super unique! Was in the Philly area visiting from NJ/NYC. Loved the drinks my fiancé and I got. Spot was easy to access, there was street parking. The the space inside was really spacious and nice! Loved how much seating there was. Also was super neat to see the roaster (not in action when we went.) my only complaint honestly would be just to offer larger sizes! They're pricing for 12 oz is what I'm used to paying for 16oz speciality drinks. Other than that, such a great coffee spot! read more

I've been to Caphe Roasters a few times and realized I never wrote a review. Here's a review based on a few of visits. The space is beautiful with touches of cane furniture and pops of burnt orange and forest green. There are family photos paying homage to Vietnamese culture. Here are some drinks I'd recommend and feel that you might not find elsewhere in Philly. CÀ PHÊ SỮA - brewed Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk, highly recommend as it is a traditional drink EGG COFFEE (CÀ PHÊ TRỨNG) - coffee topped w/ a creamy egg custard, if ordered hot, it takes some time to make, it's basically dessert in a cup UME PLUM TEA - tastes like a lime popsicle as described on it's menu, this drink is super refreshing iced Overall, I noticed it takes awhile for food to come out.That being said, I think some of the savory food items are a bit overrated. Would rank the egg sandwiches in order of most favorite to least favorite as follows, 1. J St. Sando 2. Sunny's Hot Sando 3. Staple Egg Sando read more

O boy was this mango matcha yummy!!! I have yet to find a place that makes matcha this vibrant and strong in the US. The mango was sweet and paired well with the oatmilk and matcha to create a creamy drink. All the flavors were able to shine on their own. Super accommodating to change the drink to make it fully dairy free too The crispy chicken banh mi was also yummy. Chicken was crispy and the gochujang mayo sitch added a slight spice to it. It paired well with the pickled veggies too. read more

seriously amazing. 10/10 matcha with fun seasonal flavors - banana bread pandan, mango milk coconut, jasmine, guava, ube,... And the regular menu with Vietnamese Coffee is just as good. Drinks are all delicious and ~$7. Food they have great sandwiches on Ba Le Bakery bread - banh mis, egg and cheese sandos, tamarind fries. They roast their coffee and are an amazing Philly local business. Indoor seating and parking is easy to find usually. Expect a wait on the weekends. Indoor seating as well. Definitely worth the trip out of center city 100% (it is hard to get to with public transit though, you're going to Kensington). SO GOOD!!!!!!! read more

Had life-changing coffee here - came on a Saturday brunch and were expecting the line to be endless, but surprisingly the order system is set up so service is pretty fast despite being very busy. We found a place to sit as diners regularly were moving in and out, Shared the SALTED BRÛLÉE CÀ PHÊ and classic hot Vietnamese latte, plus the J Street Sando (scrambled eggs w/ cheddar cheese, phở herb roasted tomatoes, caramelized onion aioli, served on Merzbacher's sweet potato bread) - deliciously satisfying sandwich! The aioli was so good with the herb roasted tomatoes, egg, and cheese, and the bread was fluffy and just slightly sweet. The hot Vietnamese latte was also good! But what really blew us away was the salted brulee ca phe - probably one of the best coffees I have ever had. Smooth, salty, sweet all at once with a creamy foam on top, had to keep going back for sips. I think about that coffee all the time and can't wait to go back for it. read more
Sunday brunch was a busy time to come but Caphe was exactly what I was looking for on a Sunday morning. The inside is very open and spacious with lots of natural light. There aren't too many seats and given the popularity of this cafe they fill up fast. Most of the tables are small circle tables (can comfortably fit a group of 4) although there is some seats at the bar and a large picnic table at the back of the restaurant. My group waited in line for about 10 minutes, placed our order at the counter, and waited for another 10-15 minutes for food/ drinks to come out. The coffee is strong!! We ordered a black drip and iced ca phe sua. My boyfriend who drinks black coffee every day took a sip and was like woah that's straight jet fuel. In a good way lol if you like your coffee strong you'll like this! For food we ordered the OG banh mi, Sunny's hot sando, and the porridge. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the hot sando. Bread was crispy, egg was smothered in sauce and cheese, and the pork sausage worked so well in this breakfast sandwich. I would 100% get this again. The banh mi was good too although not the best I've ever had. But it scratched the itch for the craving and I'd get it again. Crispy bread, plenty of meat, fresh veggies. They also sell the chili oil they use in the sandwich! Shoutout to Vientiane Bistro who makes it. You absolutely need to try this Thai/Laotian restaurant if you haven't. Lastly the porridge was very savory and comforting. The flavor of ginger immediately jumped out at me. I definitely recommend trying out this caphe! Parking wasn't too bad either. When a beautiful building focuses on the residents in a community the outcome is a coffee shop that caters to one and all in a beautiful relaxing atmosphere with wonderful beverages at fair prices. After just getting back from Vietnam, we had a hankering for a classic bahn mi. I got a tofu bahn mi here and it was delicious. Bread was perfect, seasoning was perfect. Tofu was nicely crisped. A little heavy on the aioli but it was 10/10 overall read more

I was able to find free street parking across the street and it looked like most street parkings are free though you may have to walk a bit to access them. You can access their menu through a QR code and there's plenty of indoor seating. If I lived nearby, this is a cafe I'd study at. Vietnamese Coffee 5/5, my friend got this, we both enjoyed this. I am not a big coffee person and I enjoyed how this tasted sweet and not ultra strong (though I only tried initial sips, it might be stronger after) Misugaru Matcha w/ almond milk 3.5/5, ok so this was the first time I've tried Misugaru and I went off the menu description of it tasting like cereal milk. It does taste like that but also it was grainy and thicker than I expected? so mixing the matcha in was a bit challenging. I am happy I tried this so I got to learn what Misugaru is but I would try something else next time Staple Egg Sando 5/5, you simply MUST order this if you want a breakfast item from here. The cheese + egg is soft and yummy and blend incredibly well together + the addition of the hot pepper ketchup on that sweet potato bun makes this something to absolutely drool over read more
