This bar was quite interesting , randomly located in the middle of downtown definitely not a place i would expect it to be. My boyfriend and i walked in waiting for a couple other friends to arrive so we ordered a drink in the meantime. The drinks were $12 each, which was normal i guess but we werent sure why someone would want to come here to thier birthday. It didnt give me a "birthday" vibe kind of place. The music they were playing was rock, pretty terrible. Luckily we noticed we might have gotten there a little too early because an hour later a DJ arrived, thank god and he saved the night. The place itself is still pretty small in size and to im not quite sure if it reminded me of a strip joint for a pool hall, with the red carpets and interior decor it had. The couches/ booths were lined up along the wall and when you looked up it was a mirrored roof. I love this swanky spot. Mama Tried has quickly become my favorite afterwork watering-hole. Every inch of the bar is thoughtfully designed and inviting. Kind of a small place if you're going with a group of people. But what really upset me about this place is to open a tab they keep your card and don't require an ID. When I went to order another drink under my tab the bartender said my card was no longer there. They had given my card to someone else which they subsequently closed their tab with. The bartender still charged me for my drink and said "you probably have the same name as someone". Not only did they not apologize but they brushed it off like it was no big deal. They really should update their policy as my name is not common whatsoever and most places don't even keep your card anymore or they should at least require an ID as well ! read more

What a great little bar. I came here on a Wednesday night a few weeks ago and as a woman, that is the best night to come because ladies drink for FREE. Nothing wrong with that situation. It also has a very nice mixed crowd of people. Everyone out to have fun. I believe its more of a local bar than tourist which I love. They had a dj and he was mixing old and new hits which is always a good vibe to get my booty shaking. They have ample seating around the space, but when it starts getting late, the more packed it got. For a wednesday night, this a lively place. Terrible fucking service. Girl with a ton of tattoos ignoring people who have been standing at the bar for 20 minutes.

The tall bartender with tattoos was so rude for absolutely no reason. Probably because gratuity is already included so she gets her tip no matter how she acts. We just wanted to confirm that she poured tito's instead of tequila because it looked like a tequila bottle and it definitely wasn't tito's and when we asked she just kept screaming the price at us and telling us to pay. Then I gave her my card to pay just brushing it off and didn't close the tab. I had to ask her for my card back and she gave it back to me basically bent in half and it's a brand new card. Worst bartender interaction i've ever had and i'm a bartender myself and have seen it all but would never be so disrespectful to someone asking a question nicely. ew. read more

What was once our favorite low key neighborhood spot with bartenders whose warmth would graciously greet you from behind the bar as you entered the mysterious doors is now a new spot in town with a refreshing and trendy look. Great job on the face lift but please get some genuine, hospitable bar keepers back. After all, hospitality is about service. A place that used to exceed our expectations with humble, welcoming folks, despite the dark, somewhat neglected backdrop, is now the antithesis. It seems they've devoted too much time on the lavish and seemingly pretentious look and forgot about the bones of the hospitality industry which is GOOD SERVICE that brings happiness to its explorers. The bartender seemed more preoccupied with her phone's notifications than the patron's desire to order a round whilst patiently standing before her. She proceeded to snap at another guest, then walk away from us. Who knew it would be possible to miss a 6'4" man. So sorry we interrupted your evening, madam. We won't bother you again. Love hate about the location of this lounge as it's located in downtown main Miami so kind of scary to walk around at night but I like it's away from the usually brickell bars so the crowd that goes that is different. The bartenders are attentive and I like the layout of the bar and fact it has a pool table. I really like this music, the oldies hip hop etc! Came on a Friday and there was a good crowd not overly packed either. Glass of win $11 dollars cocktails the usual $12 range although I didn't try any of them. This place has one of the best happy hours in downtown Miami! $5 well drinks $5 beers and $7 cocktails. It has a disco vibe and is very dark inside, has a pool table and lots of 80s music playing. They don't have a kitchen but you are allowed to bring in outside food! The waitress recommended we walk across the street to Sparky's BBQ and being our food in here to enjoy with drinks. Came out here to celebrate a friend's birthday and my, my was I surprised to see what a gem this was, hidden in the middle of downtown. First off, the place itself was awesome-looking together with its décor, lighting and staff. The bartender that took care of us was dressed, I would say, pin-up girl style; her style fit extremely well with the entire look and feel of the bar. Aside from this, they do offer a full bar but since I believe they had recently just opened they had yet to offer a drink menu promoting any of their specialty cocktails. However the bartender was very knowledgeable behind the bar so she was able to suggest various options for drinks and made them well. The place was a bit small but it made for a very pleasurable experience with plenty of seating and even a few arcade games and a pool table for added entertainment. Will be back. read more

The location is a little sketchy and parking is pretty frustrating, and when we finally walked in I was disappointed to hear that the music wasn't super great. Very cool and fun bar. We stopped by because we were in the area and were pleasantly surprised. It's a small bar, but they had plenty of seating around the bar and throughout the space. They had some interesting cocktails on their menu my boyfriend ordered the sex panther and I got the pornstar martini that came with a side of bubbles. Both drinks were made well and our bartender was very friendly. Decor is classic and cute and they had some fun music playing. Only complaint is that it was a pretty loud given the size of the space and we really had to yell to hear each other.
