Great place for a chill night out! They have great cocktails and pretty good music. The only complaint is the bathroom situation. There's only one stall for ladies and line gets backed up pretty quickly. I'm sure that it's out of their control, but besides that I had an awesome time! Great neighborhood bar :) read more

Disappointing -- cool, 70s decor but raped on the drinks. First round: double Jack & ginger + tequila on the rocks $27...ok...second double Jack & ginger $22...1.) bartender (guy) measures the alcohol and under fills because he's afraid to spill and 2.) can't do math. But something tells me the owner probably beats him if he's off on the till or alcohol. Definitely better pubs in downtown MIA. Let us know when you hire professional bartenders and we might come back. read more

Big props to the bartenders! The service is great and fast as the bartenders are constantly doing laps around the bar and the drinks are QUALITY! And they weren't super expensive either. Went on emo night and it was super fun! Diverse crowd honestly. LGBTQ friendly which is always a plus and it's located in the middle of downtown. read more

Thank god this place opened up between this and lost boy i now have motive to go to downtown miami. i am so here for this wave of unpretentious bars opening up in this location. first time i came here with friends we got a good seat at a table with booth style seating. the music was good but i was so comfy i didn't want to get up. i didn't get a chance to try any of mamas signature drinks, my friends ordered me a mai tai that was delicious then we drank st. germaine with prosecco for the remainder of the night. this bar has an elevated dive bar feel. i say elevated because there is not a plastic cup in sight (YASS) and the ceiling in this place looks like a rolls royce. drinks are not cheap but not taxed either expect to pay $8 for a beer and $13-$15 on cocktails. there is also pool :) yay. and apparently they are going to start serving food soon. the vibe in here is great for dancing, also expect to meet cool people. great job mama :) read more

Went here on Saturday around 7 pm. They have a Saturday happy hour until 8 pm which a big plus. There were about 8 people there and not too crowded. Bartender was polite and very attentive. Went to this bar late one night a couple weeks back. The place had a good sized crowd and I really enjoyed the vibe. The DJ was playing a great tracklist/mix from 80s, 90s, and 00s. Cocktails were on point and the bartenders were working the bar quickly and in a professional manner. Would highly recommend this for late night drinks and dancing or even just a quick night cap with friends over a game of pool. read more

The decorations are really nice. The drinks are average, but they're cheap so that's fine. The reason for my one star, which would go lower if I could, is the rude bartenders. They seemed to be acting purposely irritable, like you might expect from a gangster in a movie trying to look tough--except here it's two tattooed women mixing subpar drinks. It was ridiculous. We were really looking forward to checking out this bar, from reviews seemed like a cool spot for locals but I was wrong. It sold out to the millennial crowd, only played popular music (not throw back), and very poor service the bartenders appeared stressed and unhappy. Got our drink order wrong twice and bartender rolled her eyes at us (we asked for a club soda and she kept putting vodka in it). We continue to look for a cool dive bar with old school hip hop that caters to an older crowd, this was not even close. read more

Since the departure of PubOne, downtown has really needed a no-frills bar. Mama Tried is a great mixture of slick and dive-y. The drinks are well-priced. You can get a perfectly mixed cocktail if that's your thing but it's also the kind of place you just order a Miller Lite. Best part of the bar is the very local nights: Tuesday's Brown Liquor and Thursday's country night are both run by locals. Anyone who is complaining about the parking has obviously never been to downtown Miami. read more

Great new bar. Open until late, great drink selection and good music. It is located downtown miami, we took the people mover there and took an uber home. I do not think they have a parking lot, but there is street parking. We stayed a few hours, it had a young crowd of people but not to crowded. It was a nice looking bar and had some tables.
