This spot has been on my list of places to visit and im happy i finally stopped by. Upon arrival i was instantly in shock from how many sweets were around me. I loved the lanterns and the cherry blossom decorations they had. We chose a strawberry cream cheese bun, an egg drop sandwich and a hot Cheetos corn dog that was 50/50 cheese and meat. The staff was sweet and let us know our food would be ready in 15 minutes. The strawberry cream cheese bun was so good, perfect amount of sweetness not over powering at all. My son loved the hot Cheetos corn dog. The cheese pull was CRAZY GOOD. As for the egg drop sandwich we loved it, surprisingly it had a hint of sweetness which was very nice. This was not just a donut shop. It had more. It had pastries and Japanese corn dogs. I was glad I checked this place. The donuts tasted and looked good. The consistency is different. It was different good. I didn't get the corn dog becausei didn'thave room but Iwished I did. It was picked the inside. My kids absolutely love the donuts at MaMa YaTai & Donuts! They're always fresh, creamy, and filled generously. My personal favorite is the blueberry cream donut--it was rich, flavorful, and not overly sweet. My kids couldn't get enough of the adorable bears! I was so sad when their old location closed because it was super convenient, and it was always busy for a reason. What's not to like, unless you aren't into fun donuts and kitsch. we were out this way last weekend and i was lookign at what spots around us I had tagged wantign to get to and hadnt yet. Mama YaTai was top of the list. Minutes later we were parking(in a parking lot that's always busy, barely got a spot) and heading in. The blast of colors is alot when you walk in. There is bright primary's of red and yellows btu also pinks and blues and everything else. Its a cheerful vibe inside with tunes playing as well. We didn't know exactly what to do as there were shelves all around the shop with sectioned off varieties of the different donuts. The nice gal at the counter told us to grab a tray and tongs and get to picking. we found a half a dozen pretty quick. We grabbed peanut butter ones, cream cheese, and special japanese donuts that tasted fantastic. I wanted to get their special corndog but they were 15 minutes behind and we couldn't wait. My BF has had this place marked for IDK how long... we were not to far from it this past weekend and he seized the opportunity to finally try it. We went with the idea of getting a box and trying several flavors. They had some savory pastries, and then lots and lots of different donuts. These are not your regular glazed donuts, these are stuffed, decorated, and an assortment of flavors donuts. They also have Mocchi donuts that look like flowers. We obviously had to try those and had some other stuffed with guava, strawberry cream cheese, dulce de leche. Then another one topped with caramelized sugar called Crème Brulee. Still the same great Donut shop, but newly renovated to match the current bakery layout trend! Now the donuts are set up in displays. So you enter, get a tray and tongs, and pick and choose which donut/pastry you'd like. And then at the end, pay and get your selections packaged. This set up makes the space feel larger than before. Mama YaTai Donut is a popular shop with so many exciting flavors. I tried the strawberry and cream. It was fresh, sweet but not overly sugary. I Would definitely come back to get dessert when going to a party or to bring you a friends house. Kiera was one of the happiest staff members I've come across in a long time. It was my first time back in a year or two. I like the new self service where you pick the donuts yourself with some tongs. I really loved the white cherry blossom donut . Really fun concept. You walk in and it's a wall of donuts you get to select yourself and place on a tray. It's a relaxed way to look through all the different options. You have to go earlier for the best ones in my opinion but all the donuts were super fresh and delicious. I got the half cheese and half hot dog corndog, so good if you've never tried. My mom brought these from FL, since I love mochi donuts and each time I visit, I never get to stop by. To start off, the maple and bacon was pretty good. It was a little too sweet for my liking, but I do love bacon, so I enjoyed it. The matcha was one of my least favorites. I do love matcha, but wasn't a fan of the almond slices. I think it would've been better without. I really enjoyed the Oreo, since that's a flavor I love, so nothing wrong with that. The chocolate was also not a favorite of mine, but that's because chocolate donuts are my last choice in flavor. The cherry blossom one was pretty yummy and the rice paper flowers were fun to eat. And I do enjoy a strawberry flavored mochi donut, so this was one of the ones I liked. Overall, a pretty good group of mochi donuts. It was still chewy, but a little more dense than I like, but that could be due to the fact that they travelled from FL to TX. read more

The blue half dog half cheese was the least favorite. Of the 12 donuts we had, our favorites were the traditional crunchy caramel glaze, taro donut, and the ever so decadent creme brûlée donut. However, there are so many delicious ones. Try a variety! The ambiance is an anime fans dream. There are 2 tables of 6 and the rest are 4 and 2 seaters. The seating wasn't too limited as most people walk in and out for take out orders. We could probably go here every day for a year and would always be able to try something new. The variety is consuming. We wanted to try everything. They also have a great selection of unique and delicious sodas. I have been waiting to come here for so long! We came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't overwhelmingly busy. It has anime décor on the walls and a great playlist. I love the pretty pink flowers everywhere too. There were so many mochi donuts to choose from! We got a box of six and tried an ube bun, Vietnamese coffee, churro, caramel, taro, and black sesame. The black sesame was delicious and so was the taro and Vietnamese coffee. The chicken wing was large and covered in teriyaki sauce... very tasty! We had the half cheese/half hot dog corn dog, one covered with cheese puffs and the other covered in blue taki! They were really good! The blue taki was slightly better. The Vietnamese iced coffee were delicious with the condensed milk, they are sweet, but a great flavor of coffee. My favorite part was the tanghulu: basically a fruit skewer covered in melted sugar. It has a great crunch and the fruit is so sweet. We had the mix of fruit: grapes, orange, and strawberry.. very delicious and fun to eat. I took a ham and cheese roll (they are premade and you can buy them at the counter display) It was so buttery, soft and delicious. i had it for breakfast the next morning. read more

I love the mix of vietnamese and japanese culture at this place. The interior was also cooly designed and had such a large selection of mochi donuts - I loved the texture of them! Though I was not a fan of the vietnamese coffee donut it tasted slightly like used grounds of the viet coffee rather than the actual taste of viet coffee. Aside from that flavor, I have no compliants of the other mochi donuts. Similar to many mochi donut chains like mochinut, they do offer food options like hot dogs made to order and other small snacks + desserts. We arrived an hour before closing. I kmow it was an hour before so I expected them to be out of items hut we specifically went for one item. I even called about it few days prior they told me on phone that they makemit all day so it wont run out. Well they were out lol we went specifically for that item lol. Loved the way they decorated the space! It was cute, almost felt like you were in a different world when you walked in. The service was very inviting and the young lady at the desk was helpful with recommendations. We opted in trying the Tanghulu truly a 12/10 experience if you like candied items. The grapes and strawberries were juicy and fresh and the sugar glaze added a nice crunch and sweetness. I loved it. The donuts were a bit of the disappointment possibly based off of the flavors I chose, but I didn't much care for the icing itself. We tried the strawberry shortcake (best flavor), matcha almond and cookies and creme. I would have to go when the donuts are made fresh to see if there's a distinct difference. Just yesterday a few friends alerted me to this asain infused donut shop. Well, I love donut shops so I went over there today to try it after a fat steak. The place has lots of colorful donut pics on the front windows and the inside smelled from fresh dough. The little shop was very busy with customers. There were several clear display cases full of colorful fresh looking donuts. It was like one of those unique experience food places on the Las Vegas Strip. Lots of big anime and pokemon (i think) stuffed animals on the wall behind the donut counter. They did have a donut deal of Buy 5 Get 1 Free. My wife asked the counter server what type of donut would she recommend for a first time try. She told us that the Mama Flan donut was one of their signature donuts and of course that sounded delish. The donut was $3.75 and was a good size for the cost. We sat down with the donut at this wooden table with bright red velvet type chairs. We dug into the donut immediately and loved the flan center and the doughy outter shell. Was not a ten but an easy 7.5. Will try the Oreo Mochi donut next trip. My suggestion is to get there well before 7pm since they stop creating fresh donuts after that time since they close at 9pm. They also offer Japanese Corndogs with crazy toppings for about $5.50. There are so many different options to pick from, whether you're there for a sweet treat or one of their Japanese corndogs. Savory garlic roll positively packed with a sweeter garlic cream cheese. So rich and so delicious. Perfect size to eat solo or share between two. Strawberry Pac-Man was also great - soft, sugar donut on the outside with fresh strawberry and a sweet cream filling on the inside. Oreo mochi donut is also a great option of the classic mochi donuts. You also have to get a Japanese Corndog while you're here. Customize it to how you want it - they have so many options! But the Oreo churros had this really weird tasting cream inside that I just couldn't really get behind. My husband and I went to MaMa YaTai last night and got the Korean corn dog. We opted for the full cheese + potato + dual sauce and it was delicious! Even around closing time the line was pretty much out the door, for a good reason. They still had a variety of sweets by closing, we will surely get next time. The corn dog had the most amazing cheese pull and perfect blend of sweet and savory. The sweetness comes from the corn dog bread and the savory comes from the sauces. We headed over to Davie after landing at Fort Lauderdale Airport on the way to our Airbnb with an eye at a not so healthy hot dog at Mama YaTai Donut. But as we parked, the full tables at next door's Mama Tofu called out to my travel companion. With both businesses about to close at 9pm, I grabbed two treats for us to share later, while they went to order and to get us a table. The strawberry called her name while the possibility of tres leches in Ube form called mine (as well as hers). It turned out to be a strawberry cupcake in a cup, while the other was indeed a tres leches. $4.50 each.
