Wow!! This is a hidden gem pretty near where I live. I picked this restaurant and I did a good job. Haha We walked in and the smell of delicious food overwhelmed me. Truly. It smelled so, so good. I had called and the guy said they were not busy. We walk in and the lady asked if we had a reservation. Wish he would have mentioned that but anyway, we were sat right away. Our server took quite a while to come over. When she did, she was very nice. We started with Kirin beers that were ice cold. He ordered some fancy eel roll. I had a piece but I am not a fan of eel. It did seem well put together. My JB roll was the best one I ever had. Truly delicious and fresh. We also ordered Mongolian beef. This was really delicious and not overly salted. I was surprised the portion wasn't bigger for a $25 price. Still, very tasty. The side dish of brown rice came about 10 minutes after the dish arrived. This was a bit annoying. We ordered the fried rice with chicken and shrimp later on. When it arrived, I thought it didn't look great. That all changed when I tasted it. The flavors here for the hot food items are very authentic. This dish doesn't seem to photograph well either but let me tell you, it is awesome! There are big tasty shrimps in there, maybe 6 of them. They don't even really show up here. The chicken is also fantastic. This is an excellent restaurant I want to go back to soon. read more

Imasa sushi you better believe I will be back! Heard great things about this place and stopped in to see for myself. Great service and really nice decor and setup they have in there. A lot of regulars around me based on conversations with servers which is a great sign. Ordered some pork buns, a few rolls and the Rock shrimp. It was all delicious and sushi is something I will always crave but do yourself a favor and start off with the Rock shrimp. Packet with flavor, creamy crispy slightly spicy shrimp was a star dish for me. We almost ordered another plate of it. All in all this place is worth every cent. I cannot wait to be back! read more

I could honestly never hate this place... I love it too much. I'll forever be a customer. We came back after a little break because my last experience with one server wasn't great and she was extremely rude, but it was cold outside and I deeply missed the hot soup and hot sushi. I'm so glad we came back. We were greeted so warmly and made to feel so welcome by the people in charge truly amazing energy. It reminded me exactly why I love Imasa so much. The star of the show here was the house salad with ginger dressing. Some restaurants make their ginger dressing spicy, but this one was perfect. I ordered a green tea and a tuna roll with added avocado. The seaweed on the tuna roll was hard and tasted a bit stale I ordered it with brown rice and that was hard as well. My daughter ordered the California roll and loved hers. Hopefully it was just an off day. We were having a lovely time until a group of about 10 people showed up with about 6 kids and it became incredibly noisy in there so we ended up leaving. After getting my hair done, I was hungry. I wanted some hot tea with something light to eat... that's when Imasa Sushi came to mind. It has been three years since I last had food from this place and it has not changed. It was still dimly lit with a serene ambiance. The restaurant was empty when I arrived but the kitchen staff was very busy preparing orders for pickup. I was approached and greeted by one of the female employees who allowed me to sit at a booth and took my order for hot tea, California roll, and steamed chicken dumplings. Few people started to come in to dine as my food was placed in front of me. The California roll and steamed dumplings was nicely prepared, fresh, and delicious. The green tea was hot and soothing. The little teapot provided served about 3 1/4 cups which was a fulfilling amount. The female employee was attentive in checking if things were to your liking, if you needed anything, and removing the empty dishes. I need to find the time to come back. This evening we ordered dinner once again from this incredible sushi location buttons 2 miles from the house. Instead of picking up, I chose Uber and because I didn't pay for priority, they had the driver pick up my food. Take it 13 minutes away to Pines Boulevard and then deliver our food the way that it was packaged kept it in impeccable condition and it was actually perfect. I really appreciate the extra care. We ordered spicy edamame - which was not spicy at all . we then tried to order the oysters - which there were none of . Then we ordered a lobster pad Thai which seemed like an interesting mix - but was totally super plain - and also 26 dollars . Once we got the sushi's - they were ok - but nothing that blew me away . The whole sushi selection , is very basic - nothing really extravagant like i would like them . Lastly I ordered an orange chicken to see how this would come out - and again not blown away . I enjoyed an excellent lunch here today. The location was easy to find as it's on the SE corner of Stirling and Pine Island in the Walmart plaza. This is a family owned and operated restaurant, and I always try to support local businesses. The server was very attentive without being smothering. Our waiter knew the menu and he was great at explaining a few items to us, which we greatly appreciated. We started with the Kani Salad, Bok Choy in a light garlic sauce, a Crispy Rice Roll, along with a large bowl of wonton soup for my mother. The spicy tuna in the Crispy Rice was delish. The Bok Choy was prepared in a light garlic sauce and cooked perfectly. It could have used a bit more garlic, but regardless, I loved this dish. The Kani Salad was loaded with shredded Krab sticks and finely diced avocado, all tossed in a light vinegar based dressing with a small amount of mayo. I never had this salad before, but I really enjoyed it. We shared a few rolls that were all delicious. I can't recall the names, but they were all very, very good. All ingredients were fresh. Walk in and go to the sushi bar - see the variety of fresh fish. Look around at what people are eating - it is likely authentic Japanese food. Recently, I was in another Japanese style restaurant and the server had no idea what tomago or hamachi kama was. He was familiar with every tempura/cream cheese/mayo-heavy roll they made, however. Imasa's menu offers both - tempura/cream cheese/mayo and more authentic dishes too. They also offer some Chinese style dishes - like sesame balls or dumplings. Their udon noodles with African lobster tail that tastes like the Chinese food of my childhood. We're hooked on that dish. You can make up your own dish and they'll gladly oblige. We took the house roll and replaced some of the ingredients. They did such a great job that when we go - more often than we expected - we order a couple of them, along with the other dishes. We have leftovers, but this is our typical delicious meal: Veggie rolls Cooked salmon inside and outside a roll filled with avocado, asparagus, etc. Udon noodles with lobster tail 2 pieces of nigiri - we mix it up 4 pieces of tomago (an order of sesame balls and more tomago to go!) We use the leftovers for the next meal and are happy to eat it! The service is spot on and you don't have to flag down a server. I love their willingness to accommodate us and their execution of flavorful dishes. Yes, we're planning on returning this weekend. When we were last there, they were preparing 2 huge boats of sushi and 6 smaller boats of sushi to deliver to a party. So I think the word is out - their food is fresh and tasty! read more

It's all about sushi and sashimi tonight. We tried the spicy octopus, which was spicier than we expected. There are definitely levels to spicy food, this was definitely mid to high. As for the sushi and sashimi, the presentation was awesome and so was the freshness, absolutely fresh seafood. My server was attentive and polite. Always made sure my water cup was always filled. But the show stealer is the food. I had some of the best brussel sprouts I've ever had. Crispy, tangy. Ugh. So good. I also had a salmon tempura roll which was very good. The tempura was a pinch over fried but not greasy so it wasn't bad. This is our go-to sushi spot--we come at least once a week! This time, the chef created a special roll for me, similar to the Imasa Roll, but with a twist. He swapped the topping for spicy tuna and avocado, with tuna inside then fried the entire rollIt was absolutely amazing! We also tried the Salmon Carpaccio, and it did not disappoint. The sushi prep guys behind the counter always say hello when customers enter. Been here many times for lunch where i ordered the fresh eel rolls with a hot Miso soup. When they first opened they had a crazy lunch special of two sushi rolls for $10.00. Well sadly those days are long long gone, but they still have decent competitive prices. Lunch time you usually can get in and out in about 30 minutes but dinner will be packed. The parking lot is a decent size in front. Love this place. read more

If you want some of (if not) the best sushi in the Cooper City/Davie area, I highly suggest visiting Imasa. Sushi is one of my favorite foods, so I'm always looking for the best. After coming here a few months back I knew I wouldn't have to look any further. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu, very attentive & incredibly friendly. I've only had one experience where my waitress seemed flustered & wasn't around as often but that hasn't been a common trend here. The dining area is a bit smaller so I'd suggest calling in a reservation if you plan on having dinner during the weekend. It's always kept spotless & they turn tables very quickly. As far as the food goes, all I have to say is it's incredible. From the first bite you can taste how fresh everything is. On top of that, you know they're not sitting on their products for long because there's always people dining inside & ordering food to-go. You can tell the chefs know what they're doing because of how consistent it is every time. From the portion sizes to flavors, it's always spot on. You MUST try the Poke Nachos, they're unlike anything you've had before. With the perfect amount of heat in the poke tuna mix & fantastic crisp of the nacho chips it creates an amazing dish that'll make you fight for the last nacho if you're with someone. For pricing it's a little more expensive but nothing out of the ordinary for this quality. They never hold out on the ingredients so you absolutely get your moneys worth!
