Had a girls night out dinner here and everything was so delicious! The coconut margarita - wow! Highly recommend! The mango mojito was also excellent. Everyone raved about their food. I had a rice bowl with chicken al pastor - it was perfectly balanced with rice, chicken, corn salsa, guacamole, queso, shredded cheese... best rice bowl I've had in a very long time! Our server (I wish I could remember her name) was great - she knew the menu and answered everyone's questions. She took great care of us!

Well, our daughter and family took my wife and I here for the first time on Father's Day. I really liked everything about this place. The ambience was very modern and up to date. Service was prompt and friendly. And the food was pretty tasty as well. We'll definitely come back.

I want to start by saying the service here isn't the best. They don't have a host and people were lined up the door, the service is very slow and it felt rushed. I had strawberry margarita it wasn't enjoyable at all, I wasn't a fan, it some weird taste in it. I had the chicken tacos and chicken egg roll both were decent not bad. I'm not sure if I would come back here again. The ambiance wasn't the best it could've been cleaner.

Stopped by for some lunch and it was our first time visiting here. We started with the Chorizo and cheese and chips and the corn fritters. The chorizo and cheese was our favorite of the 2 appetizers. Tasted great and went well with the lightly salted chips. The corn fritter were very flat and we expected more of a thicker type of fritter. We both tried a Steak Frita taco and it was very delicious, no complaint's there and would definitely recommend. I ordered the chicken and shrimp Rum Runner. It was different from anything I've had and was absolutely delicious. The shrimp were a very nice size and the chicken was well cooked. Also had corn rice, beans and guacamole. The guacamole is very flavorful. My friend got the enchiladas and also liked them. They even gave her extra sauce when she asked for a to go box so they didn't soak up all the sauce in the fridge and be dry. Absolutely will eat here again! And our server was absolutely great.

Mamacita's is a great place to stop in while in Trenton, MI. The vibe is amazing. Garage door walls take dining Al fresco to the next level. The food & drinks were served up prompt with a smile. Trenton is in need of more places like Mamacita's!

This little spot was sooo tasty!! The queso was good and came with a ton of dip. The quesadilla was cooked to perfection. The margarita? Spicy and I was feeling it after I finished the 1. I would for sure come back here when I'm in town again!

Margarita with tajin - sitting at the bar

I was visiting from out of town and we decided to come here for some drinks and apps. There were just two of us so we sat at the bar. We were the only people sitting at the bar, so we had no trouble finding seats. Initially, the atmosphere is cute. A lot of windows, cute decor, bright colors, etc. Unfortunately, the initial appearance was short lived after a not so nice greeting from the bartender. I'm always extra friendly and figured she was just having a bad day, but it made things super uncomfortable. We soon found that her shift was just about ending; we knew this because instead of asking if we needed anything else, she just asked if we wanted the check since her shift was ending. I politely declined and mentioned we planned on staying. She wasn't happy about that and walked away. Luckily, the next bartender was super friendly and at least greeted us with a smile and a hello. The rest of our service was fine. The chips and salsa trio were great, and I liked that they had different types of salsa. We also ordered some sort of corn fritter, which was just okay to me. I do agree with some of the other reviewers, in the margaritas being a bit pricey, seeing that some of them come out of a machine.. but overall, a generally nice place for this area.

Good food! Mexican food that actually has some spice to it! Chicken tinga is very good (street tacos). All the salsa are very good as well. My wife highly recommends the Run Runner for dinner!

I literally had to be talked back into the house, just after placing my order for 2, because there was a tornado warning happening! I was ordering on the phone while the alert was going off on my phone. Did I care? Absolutely not. And the lady who dealt with me and my mental health issues dealing with borracho's, she sounded like she was more than happy to make my borrachos even if cows were floating by the store window down West Rd. and there was a tsunami coming in from the Detroit River. Now that is service folks. Alas, I had to call this young warrior princess back and tell her to postpone my order, and we both hung up hoping we'd make it through the storm and accomplish our mission. (I felt that way at least...) But the storm subsided after a grueling 30 minutes of pure torture for me personally. I called back to place my order and was still treated like I wasn't insane! This young woman was outstanding. I think she knew we were in this together. I would not be denied, not because of my strength alone. But hers as well. She also has all the ingredients and the kitchen and skills also, which was helpful. When I arrived I met this person who has shared so much, and sacrificed so much, greet me with a smile. And then she handed me my borrachos. I believe I spotted a small tear drop in the corner of her eye, she was laughing hysterically at someone else, not me. Nobody was there or anything but who knows, maybe I missed a little person or something. ‍. I was crying to though so I get it girl! Super emotional moment...anyways... As I got to my car, the sun peeked out and that's when I knew, I should've gotten 3 of these things. They're freaking delicious. How's that for a review? . I talked to the manager and he said they did start adding a sauce or salsa. It ruined my favorite dish that we came there for 37 years before Covid. We all would get it. My family decided to celebrate my husband's birthday there very recently I decided what can go wrong with my second favorite Chicken Fajitas. Well, the below is what I got. Only a couple little green pepper pieces, a couple onion pieces and more tomato pieces than both peppers and onions. Where are the peppers and onions? This picture is the whole meal all burnt and dry. This is such a downgrade from a typical fajita. I dipped a chicken piece in sour cream to wash it down, it was dry. I brought it home and my son ate it and couldn't believe what he saw when I said it was Chicken fajitas. He hated it, it lacked all the flavors that make it good and it was hard to chew. I've tried a lot of foods there, I am not fond of anything but the 2 loyal dishes I loved. Both have been destroyed. If you add salsa to a chimichanga then you won't notice a difference but if you don't you certainly will notice the flavor change. For 37 years it was our favorite place, now it's the very bottom of a list of places to eat, actually we have nothing to order from there anymore. I couldn't even enjoy the hot tea, I asked for lemon and was told you don't have any but gave me a lime ruined the tea! I read on one review you said it's the same as it always was there but you're wrong, chimichangas are not as they used to be after adding the red sauce in it, lemons gone, dry fajitas without peppers and onions you can actually taste and see. Your quality of food has definitely changed for the worst, regardless of you saying otherwise. I will not tell people how great your place is anymore but tell them not to go if they're expecting the chimichangas they've loved for years, because they're gone. 2 different restaurants with Chicken fajitas 2 different presentations- which is more desirable looking. And yes this is the amount of fajitas minus 1 small piece of chicken on the last picture that Mexican Gardens gave, for $20- with a little guacamole, sour cream and rice on a side plate. Price is not justifiable to us considering the quality of this dish I got. The last 2 times we went the restaurant wasn't even half full, which is odd considering every other time in the past before past 2 years we had to wait quite a while to get in and not hardly any empty seats. With a table for 8 it took about 5-10 minutes to put it together. The only 2 times in 37 years the restaurant wasn't full and it was a weekend when it's usually very packed in the past, and those 2 times were within about 6 weeks recently this year. So sad it used to be one of the very best, we passed over all other Mexican restaurants to go there, not anymore. So sorry to leave this horrible review but thats how bad our experience was.
