I learnt that Ukrainian cuisine shares a lot of overlap with Polish cuisine. I enjoyed trying the cabbage rolls (Holubtsi), pickled vegetable dish, Salo (cured bacon) assortment of Ukrainian dumplings (Varenyky), borsch, and potato pancakes (Deruny). I also had their pork shashlyk and potato/egg plant dish. Though the pork was marinated very nicely, it was a bit too dry and tough for my liking. Food was plentiful and it was great to sample such authentic cuisine.
