Came by as we were visiting the area and wanted a local coffee shop to check out. Saw the great reviews and we had to stop by. There's also patio seating which is nice when the weather is warm. I got a shot of espresso along with their regular brew. It was as strong as my child's attitude. Lots of seating inside as well. Service was quick and great. Five stars off the bat! The building is super cozy and inviting. It's also part of the Aria School of Music and Art, and when you walk inside there's artwork you can buy. Very warm and cozy feel, it's basically like a house with all the charm and personality you would imagine. Employees were very friendly and made suggestions on what to get. Music wasn't too loud. The coconut frappe was a suggestion from one of the friendly ladies behind the counter. It was the perfect blend of caffeine and sweetness lol I guess I am picky with my coffees. My daughter got the plain bagel with cream cheese, and it came out on a plate and was toasted. I didn't order any food for myself, but it will be on my list the next time I come back!! When I lived in Rochester, they had just started out as a rustic little cafe with a music school. In the last 5 years, they have now built into a fancier cafe with many more options to eat, drink, knick knacks and tea and coffee beans to buy. I was delighted to visit when I was in Rochester recently and see this development! I got their coffee with cocoa drink with an addition of peppermint flavoring. It was good. The girls working the cafe were definitely on their toes quite a bit. I used to love their hot chocolate so I'll be glad to go back for that on my next visit! read more

I had no idea how cute and homey this place would be from the moment I walked in I felt comfortable. You can sit and stay awhile with your coffee and a friend, order lunch, grab some coffee beans for home or have a music lesson! There's so much love in here, you can just feel it. It gets busier toward lunch time on the weekends so go earlier to find yourself a cozy spot. I ordered a Cinnamon Bun Latte and it was very delicious! By leaps and bounds this is the best coffee house in Rochester. First off they serve Finger Lakes coffee, which if you haven't tried, is fantastic coffee, produced locally. The building is an old house that has been turned into a fascinating place. They're on 1 way street behind some chain stores, perfectly hidden so that while your there you feel as if you've stepped away from the world. Rooms, hallways and stairs filled with artwork from art classes taught on site. Unique things here and there (can't give it all away). Upstairs, down stairs, a back deck and a piano on the lawn out front. They have a tiny little kitchen, but don't let the size fool you, this kitchen puts out magical flavors of food and drink. They have all the usual coffee things with flavors and syrups. Whipped cream and Soy milk. Real sugar and organic alternatives. Fresh fruit, vegan options. And pour your own beans to bring home, they'll even ground them for you. Also, if you like Finger Lakes Coffee, and can come in before mid day Tuesday and they'll order you beans of whenever type or flavor your want. This is the only place I know if on the west side that you can do that. But wait there's more. They have food and spirits too. Paninis, sandwiches, salads and snacks. And all with a unique twist of flavors and looks. They even have dessert panini's. That while I haven't tried yet, I think of them often. Lastly the atmosphere is that of a local coffee house of your dreams. I make an effort to come by whenever I'm in Greece, your day will be enhanced when you do too. read more

I love New Roots! It's one of my favorite local coffee shops. Very homey and lots of options! I love that it's in a house and it's a music school all in one. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. They also have some small things to do like chess. The coffee and espresso is very good! They have lots of milk and flavor options. It's a nut free zone so no nut milks or flavors, but that doesn't bother me. I would highly recommend coming here! I love getting a raspberry oat milk latte. read more

They host music and art lessons, so there's gorgeous local artwork up and live piano music in the background. Did not greet us or offer us anything. We ordered coffee based on what we saw behind counter & then concluded the only breakfast food was a cookie or muffin? I am not certain that was right. I thought they had a breakfast menu but nothing was offered. We sat & had our coffee & I believe other customers had other food like the toast I smelled. It was not the place I was expecting. I am a student at Arias school of Music & Art so every time I have a lesson I get something to eat or drink! I am friends with the owner so I have been coming to New Roots since they opened and I loved seeing everything flourish! The food is great, and there's so many choices for drinks. The space is so cute and cozy, especially with all the artwork. The baristas have gotten to know me, and are always exceptional! This coffee shop is soo aptly named! The bohemian coffee shop seed has been planted in Greece, NY and the roots are sprouting! My girlfriend is a fan of the place so we visited for a pick-me-up and wedding planning conversations after a refreshing lunch at CoreLife --I recommend this order of events. Upon entering, I couldn't help but feel that I was (Dorothy voice) "not in Greece anymore". Imagine passing through a threshold, the likes of Narnia's armoire, and finding yourself somewhere in the South Wedge. Every nook and surface had something artsy or handmade to look at. Signs announcing classes and upcoming events. There was a band, or maybe just a group of individuals, harmonizing quietly on the other side of the house. Again, what is this portal I seem to have crossed? They carry Finger Lakes Brewing coffee for sipping and for sale. I didn't look over the tea selections, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had something for everyone. Only one barista was working, which seemed odd unless someone was on break. The AC works which is optimal for the hot summer days...or jam sessions. We opted to sit in the shaded balcony and it was just the loveliest of times. It was breezy and somewhat private. It doesn't over look much. Just the its own parking lot and that of the park next to it. Caught a few people who were on their phones hunting "you know what" on "that app". The place Was in Rochester for a visit and found this cool little coffee shop off Ridge Rd and had to stop. It looks like a house that was converted into a coffee shop. They had plenty of room actually rooms. They have several small rooms where you can sit and enjoy coffee. I love they have local kids art all over the walls. Great way to support the local area and the arts. The staff I don't remember their names but they they very gracious at helping me pick a latte. They have a huge number of choices of flavors to pick from. Top notch customer service for every question I asked. It was also nice seeing they knew a few people who came in by name which shows people come her often. The coffee I ordered a iced Caramel latte which was great. So many times places put way to much sugar in their latte's which I hate. This had a great balance of coffee to caramel. An adorable local coffeehouse amid the Ridge Rd chain gain. I popped in after a meeting for a drink and to get work done. The cafe part is teensy by the front entrance as one barista was whipping up drinks behind the counter - all Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters brews - but the different rooms with seating and music lesson studios take up the majority of the space. I had an iced chai to balance out all the coffee I had that day. Perfectly revitalizing (and a mini sugar rush). Just the right afternoon pick me up. There's a ton of room to work or sit. Since the space accommodates kids, there was a chess board and tons of games. The space also provides music lessons for kids. There were several taking place when I was there as it was right after school. The blend of the coffee shop and music lesson space was fitting, prepping kids for the years they'll spend co-mingling and jamming in the future. The downside is that it gets a touch noisy with the kids running around and transition of people from lesson to lesson so if you like a quiet space, the morning may be best. But if you're productive with the hustle and bustle then you're good. I enjoyed the background noise, but once I had to make a work phone call I needed to step outside. Regardless, it was a really cool place and if I'm in this part of town again I'll be back! Everyone was super sweet and they really care about what they do. My fiance and I had a meeting scheduled with one of our venders for our wedding. We needed a central location so no one was driving too far. This coffee shop was open and quiet. The inside is so unique with the art everywhere. They even have games to play while you sip your beverage. The outside seating looked amazing but it was winter so we didn't get to enjoy it, sadly. Need more local coffee houses! I like this place and was saddened to see a Starbucks open up right next to it! Great service and helpful staff. WiFi. Comfy surroundings. Snacks. Coffee and tea . I like going there to hang out with my son. I don't feel the coffee and tea are wonderful (high standards over here) but definitely better than Starbucks!! They changed their reward program recently so you have to walk around with a hot coffee hand protector which is not convenient. All in all, worth the stop and support of this place. My husband and I came here for cappuccinos. They were nice, my husband thought his was a little strong but I enjoyed mine. We also shared a cutout cookie which was good. I just wish there were more sweet treats to choose from. The atmosphere was okay, it would be a great place to go with a group of friends because it is a very quiet place with lots of room that you would have the place all to yourselves. I found my dream coffee shop and New Roots is it. Now what I mean by "dream" is simple, not clustered full of people, ample seating (including a beautiful back deck), great drink offerings and great baristas. New Roots is a small house turned into a coffee shop and this place is just so adorable. I think I have a thing for businesses that purchase houses and turn them into wonderful businesses. Its inspiring. After a few steps in through the back entrance I was greeted by the warm coffee atmosphere and the friendly barista. I ordered my usual coffee shop favorite.. an Americano. I mentioned to the barista that I never visited New Roots before and she filled me on what New Roots is all about. I adore that they pay attention to their customers and really try to get their feedback to help grow their business. I decided to sit outside and enjoy the nice day. I found a seat for two on the back deck and enjoyed my well prepared Americano and the weather. If I'm looking for a great place to relax on my laptop for several hours and not be bothered by swarms of people .. oh and want to enjoy a warm.. or iced cup of coffee then this is the place I'll go. I went in today to order a Mocha, it was a long and tiring day, there was some sort of youth event that was lovely; but I felt like I was intruding. The man who served me was nice enough but the vibe felt like maybe the venue should have been closed for the event. I don't know, but I got to the counter after a few minutes and ordered a Mocha. I was told "I can make anything Mocha". I was thrown off and he started naming drinks. I responded with cappuccino, so I'm not sure if at that point he understood what I was ordering. The drink itself had ok flavors, seemed a bit sweet. The barista was nice dispite the misundstanding. I think I'll try the place again. Hopefully, it will go better. The west side needs some good coffee. read more
