We booked an engagement session with Naomi in October 2017 at Ke'e beach. We had awful rain throughout the entire day. We were very concerned that the engagement session would not happen. We heard from Naomi throughout the afternoon about what we should do about the rain, alternative times / dates if the rain persisted. I was pretty panicked because I had paid for hair and makeup and I really wanted the photos done. Naomi was relaxed and wonderful throughout the session! Thankfully the rain dissipated. We had a wonderful experience during the session. Naomi gave easy instructing to direct us through different poses. She had a quick turn around with the photos. We are thrilled with the results. We have had great feedback from our families and friends about the photos. We have used them for our save the dates and wedding website. We would recommend her, and if we were ever back in Kauai we would do another session with her!

We came to Kauai on our first vacation with our baby and hired Shelly for a "family of three"…read morephotoshoot by the beach in Poipu. First off, she is very responsive to text and emails. I love that. She didn't leave us hanging, ever. Also, Shelly herself is a very sweet and kind person. You can just see it in her demeanor. She was so accommodating! The weather was bad getting worse when she got here for our scheduled time, and many photographers would have just said "ok let's go indoors and do the shoot" - but Shelly offered to come back again the next day when the weather was supposed to be better (and it was completely better thankfully!). It was generous of her since it meant more of a time commitment on her part, but you could tell she just wanted to make sure we got great pictures. We are really thankful for that! Now, what about the pictures themselves? After all, that is what you hire her for, right? They came out great! Lots of variety - I don't think a single pair of pictures looks similar to each other. I hate it when you get the pictures back and it's basically all the same pose of "the family looking into the camera". Shelly made sure we got lots of different poses, angles, backgrounds. She picked great spots that were easy to get to but also photographed really well. She did a great job with the composition of the shots themselves. Her turnaround time to get us the pictures was pretty insane actually! I could not believe she got them to us so quickly! We found her price to be super reasonable, too. They chose a great location and were prompt, professional and even brought props for the kids. The day of the shoot was windy and cloudy but the pictures turned out great... crisp, bright, and fresh. My daughter hates taking pictures but after warming up she had a blast with Shelly and Joe and asked to schedule another photoshoot. We will definitely be calling them again for more pictures!

The process was fast and simple--find an available date on their calendar, and either pay a deposit or the full amount. We booked a mini session. For a family of 3-6, the shoot is 30 minutes and you receive 20 photos. In addition to that, I added the sneak peek package. Since we were visiting Kauai from California, I did what most people would do when they vacation--check the weather app. It showed rain for the entire week! You can imagine how devastated I felt. I sent an email and asked for their recommendation on how to proceed. They reassured me that island weather is pretty tricky and no weather app is ever accurate. I trusted their judgement, and it gave me confidence to move forward. Fast forward to the day of the shoot. We shot at Kalapaki Beach--a beautiful, iconic beach. It did not rain, but it was overcast a bit for a period of time. That didn't bother me because they took great photos. We're grateful for their patience with our two rambunctious boys (ages 3 & 5). They worked so well with them, and our boys felt really comfortable. At one point, Kayli asked our youngest to "run to Uncle Matt" and I thought that was sweet--felt like we were treated like family. On top of that, they made sure we got all the shots we wanted--I think we may have went over the 30 minute limit. But I could tell they enjoy taking photos to get the best shots. They are so great to work with. At the end of the shoot, Kayli had a special surprise for our boys. She had them pick three things from a Magic Box full of small trinkets and toys. What a sweet and thoughtful gesture! Our boys loved it. Overall, our experience was lovely. From their first response to post photoshoot. Kayli and Matt are responsive, kind, patient and passionate about photography. They are truly professionals. I would absolutely recommend them. When we go back to visit with more of our family, I mentioned to both Kayli and Matt that we'd love to bothem again.
