    Carbonara

This popular restaurant near Hyde park serves delicious Italian cuisine. The menu includes many traditional dishes, as well as a nice selection of pizza options. The staff was exceptional and very accommodating. The carbonara was a great recommendation by our server.

For those who don't know this place, they are special because every quarter apparently new Italian moms come to recreate dishes / the menu! How cool is that??? The burrata was sooooo gooood Everything else was okay. Hahaha. Kidding aside on the okay note, the starters are filling. I'll start off with what was mediocre, the potato soup and the stew/soup was okay. They both tasted as they looked and sounded. The cheeses were great! And the meats had a strong taste to them. Could be good or bad depending on the customer. The sausage from the starters were not so great, but everything else made up for it! As a main, I had the truffle pizza which was pretty solid..!

Stopped into this quaint little restaurant. We got seated and served quickly. Getting a pizza (for 2) and we were impressed with the thin, crisp crust, ham, cheese and artichoke. I recommend this one (4 Estagio).

Food was good. Service excellent. Good ambiance for a small place. Our server was fun and attentive

On our way to Logan Airport, we ate at our favorite Italian restaurant in Boston. After all, with a week holiday planned in England, we weren't expecting to look for or find great Italian food. Great Italian food found us. After checking in to the Hyde Park Hilton, we wandered around Queensway looking for a place for dinner. We didn't pay too much attention to Mamma Mia when we walked by, and returned after we saw they had one of the highest Yelp ratings in the neighborhood. The first hint of excellence was the joy with which we were greeted. The enthusiasm for the food had a solid foundation, as we struggled to make a choice from a delicious (albeit optically challenged) menu. Rather than settle for one item, we decided to order a pizza and a lasagna and share both. I recommend this strategy, as both dishes were incredible. The lasagne was this hot backed cheesy casserole of mozzarella, bolognese sauce, bechamel, and happiness. As a New Yorker by birth, transplanted to Boston, the pizza crust was unique. It wasn't thick, but wasn't as thin as a traditional New York pie. It was a little more bread-like than I am used to; it is a flavorful bread that would be enjoyed as a standalone snack, and it lives in perfect harmony with the toppings. Save room for dessert. We shared a Panna Cotta and a Gelato. This was a perfect combination, following the beautifully flavored Panna Cotta with a refreshing finish of the Gelato. Negatives: 1. The name. Mama Mia? I expected to hear Abba singing in the background. I think the terrible name is designed to discourage casual passers-by from overcrowding this wonderful little restaurant. (Without Yelp, we wouldn't have entered.) This place doesn't need a name, except as an anchor for a Google search. 2. The descriptions on the menu are inscribed in tiny, red type. I used my 2x lens on my iPhone to read the small print. At the next table, a woman used the phone and the flashlight to read it. That said, if I lived in London, I would eat here every week and I wouldn't need to read the descriptions. This treasure is on Queensway, a short walk from the Queensway (Central Line) and Bayswater (Circle & District Line) Underground stations. It's worth the trip.

Food was delectable and so tasty we finished every last bite. However we got pretty ill later that night so I'm not sure how fresh the ingredients are or if they were the best quality - perhaps it was just an off night. Even though the food was amazing, I don't think we will be returning here to risk getting sick again. The ambiance was very nice and the menu had gluten free options for pasta.

Very good Italian restaurant. Food (pasta & gnocchi) was delicious and there was a lot of it in the plate. Service was fast and efficient. Highly recommended! No table reservation necessary when we arrived on Friday evening around 7pm. Very good cost-quality ratio.

Pizza felt like a children pizza, and the carbonara sauce was so tasteless. Not real Italian food

I got a thin crust pizza here. It was okay. It wasn't bad. Seating is very close. They accept credit cards.

Easily the worst lasagna I've ever had. Tasted like it came from a box. Bruschetta was decent.

The pizza was amazing. Staff was friendly. Chicken was pretty tough and sauce watered down. Restroom was in bad shape.

We picked this restaurant for dinner during a recent trip to London based on a review on Yelp and…read moreit lived up to expectations! It is a small sit, so reservations are a must, although they did accommodate some walk-ins. Everything was freshly made which added to an elevated experience. Service was perfect balance of being prepared to execute as well as being able to spending time getting to know each other. This palace is highly recommended!

This place was quite good but I don't think it was amazing and here's why:…read more 1 - you have to be a BIG fan of pecorino cheese. My mom is, which is why we went but there are rather limited options, at least on pasta courses, that don't include pecorino. 2 - we tried three different pasta dishes. What made them truly stand out was the freshness of the pasta. That said, the sauces weren't remarkable. I tried a special pasta with pecorino, butternut squash, and mushrooms which was nice and not heavy but not partial flavorful. 3 - the ambiance is great if you like a small restaurant- with maybe 10 tables and 500 sq ft of space, this restaurant has character and charm. 4 - the service was outstanding. The staff were kind and efficient. 5 - the dessert was just OK - had some scoops of ice cream and the peanutella was outstanding while the strawberry and the pistachio were just fine. 6 - the appetizer cheese plate was the real highlight of the night here. Fresh cold cuts and cheese with the most wonderful fig jam. All in all; this is a good stop and you certainly won't have a bad experience! Perhaps just not the most notable.
